To be absolutely honest, if I had looked at the calendar and seen that BTMRR, SM, and Soarin were all scheduled to be down during my vacation, there is a good chance that I may have decided that going wasn't worth the money. Just seeing that BTMRR was down, had me questioning whether it was worth it or not because I LOVE that ride but I talked myself into it anyways. Now, like I said, if this had been a result of the man falling then I would understand but it's not, it's a result of a fine and that is just plain disappointing.

I can't get over the love for BTMRR, our kids have no desire to do it again, when they heard it was going to down they were glad. I guess it is good that we all have different favourites, else we'd all be in one line!!
I'd pick it hands down over all the other coasters at DL/DCA!![]()

What exactly are they doing to BTMRR? I'm sure someone posted on it, but I skimmed and couldn't find the info? I love this ride, too. It's such a classic. Reminds me of going as a child.
DisneyPirateGirl925 said:They are replacing all the trucks throughout. It will follow the same path just new tracks. Heard they are redoing the trains as well. (Hopefully they aren't as bad as the new Space Mountain ones. Though I haven't gotten a chance to ride in the new trains yet, i heard they are horrible.)
And I heard that they are redoing the loading platform to make it more handicap accessible, Which I think is what started the whole shut down and they just figured they might as well upgrade the tracks as well.
I think you mean the new Matterhorn bobsleds. Those are pretty rough. Space Mounain ones are not so bad.

Slightly OT, but I've found that while rows 2 and 3 of the new Matterhorn bobsleds are a tight squeeze giving you a painful ride on the small of your back, if you sit in the first row of each bobsled with your legs crossed (the only row where there's enough room to do this), it's far more comfortable--almost like it used to be. I know it sounds odd, but it turned those new bobsleds from painful to really fun again for me.![]()
