A Veggie and a Meat Lover vs Dlx Dining, June 8-18, Closing Thoughts 11/12

just read all your reviews, everything looked yummy! i can't believe people dine and dash at dis :scared1: and at a really nice resturant too.

I just read all of your reviews today during class...oops! Great reviews. My fiance and I are getting married in Disney next year. It got me so excited to read your reviews and see how much fun you had! Congrats.

Btw...can't believe you got him to the afternoon tea! I am going to take my bridesmaids to the tea the afternoon before the wedding. The tea and sandwiches looked so cute.

And its great you got to see the Magic Kingdom at the California Grill. We went there last year in one of the smaller rooms...and saw nothing. haha, but the food was still amazing. Your sushi looked delish.

I know!! I just didn't think people would do that in Disney. I rarely see it where I live so....in Disney it seemed so terrible and I know that their meal probably was very pricey.

hahaha glad to be your bad influence! haha. Thanks so much! I hope you guys have an amazing time!

Well....DH is English....so he thought it would be fun. and was happy with the food and tea. SO i'm glad I suggested it. He does surprise me because I didn't think he'd like it. I think your BMs will love it! it is really fun and a nice treat.

Yea we were very happy to get to see the MK and it was fun to watch the fireworks! It was! I have yet to find a place by me that can make sushi this good!

Day 11 (final day)

So my last food review isn't going to be super exciting but I will do it anyway. We were flying out that day so no sit down restaurants.

We were on Keys to the Kingdom tour so we ate at Columbia Harbour House. I think this restaurant is super cute. As someone who has issues with quick service places...because of all the pizza I eat...I was very excited to get a creative sandwich!!

I had the Lighthouse Sandwich - Hummus with tomato-broccoli slaw. Served with chips or carrots.

YUM. Most Vegetarians will tell you that our choices are limited on sandwiches or quick food. There aren't very many places, especially in disney that you can get a good sandwich (at least not with me being a picky eater) This was awesome. I looooved it. It was so different and fresh! I wish I could order this at home (I have been saying that a lot I know...)

DH got Six or Eight Chicken Breast Nuggets - Served with choice of French fries or apple slices. Eight nuggets
IMG_4043.jpg

Boring! haha. well he didn't like it very much. He said Mcdonalds is better. :confused3
IMG_4044.jpg

He doesn't really look like he minded the food! haha

Oh there were no Disers on our tour. I got many weird looks for taking photos of our food. oh well!

so unfortunately this is going to be another split review. I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. It didn't feel like a park quick service....it was really nicely decorated and I really enjoyed my lunch. DH...not so much...he said he would rather cosmic rays...(more pizza for me) so...I guess you'll be the judge. But if your a vegetarian and your sick of pizza...this is a good place to try! Apparently if you eat meat....its all the same!

So....We had 3 credits left (we could have eaten at like sci fi...which kind of bugged us) so we decided we were hungry (I think it was all in our heads though) and got a early dinner before we got the magical express, at Roaring Forks.

We had little snacks from here but this was really the first time we had a meal.

I got a cheese pizza
IMG_4064.jpg

I know after I was talking about not wanting pizza! haha well...I lucked out the whole trip and really didn't have to eat pizza...so I guess I was craving it. as far as disney quick pizza goes....this was at the top! it was very good for what it was. I really enjoyed it

DH got the special which was like taco pizza
IMG_4066.jpg

If you havent guessed it yet....this would be a winner for DH! haha It was different and pizza so he was happy.

We were sad so we got this rediculous chocolate brownie (with icing!)
IMG_4065.jpg

it was probably the sweetest thing i've ever had....it was good but...you really need to be craving chocolate for this one..(or be really sad to be leaving disney!!!)

The food was good for quick service. nothing special. I would much rather have used our credits for a table service if we had time....oh well!!

SO thats our dining for our honeymoon! I will have a closing remarks and favorites (from me and DH) up soon. I have to double check DH's.

Sad of your last review, I have enjoyed reading along your honeymoon food feast. Thank you so much for sharing with us.

Okay so final thoughts and such. For us the Dlx Dining was perfect. We did end up one one table/quick service credit left but I think we still saved money. It was good to not have the headache of worrying about paying at each place. Also DH really liked how much food we got. Yes it was a LOT of food but we were celebrating! haha. I think they should make something in between the regular and dlx? I'm not sure how that would be but just a little less food so you don't roll out of each restaurant. We would probably do the Dlx plan again (money allowing) it worked out nicely for us and we got to eat at places we would normally never be able to.

So okay I convinced DH to play along and pick his favorites. He even had a point system! I was not as organized...but here we go!

And the award goes to:

Thank you for following along in our reviews! We had a wonderful honeymoon and a fantastic dining adventure!!! We will be going back to WDW next June so expect lots more eating though we haven't decided what dining plan we are doing. Our 180 days are coming up soon!! so i'll post what we choose.

I just recently de-lurked, and wanted to say thank you for the great reviews! I'm vegetarian and going deluxe on our upcoming trip, so these were really helpful in getting a feel for what to expect/where to eat.

I have enjoyed your food reviews and you did a great job...I'm sad its done but happy you will be working on your ADR soon for your June trip. I'm so glad you think DxDDP is worth it. We are doing DxDDP for our first time (we have done DDP plan 2x when the appt and tip was included...we had 6 CS left over b/c we tend to ate alot of TS or room service). I'm excited with all the eating and can't wait.
Thanks again for the time you took to share with us.:goodvibes

Awesome review! I'm not a vegetarian, but I aspire to be one one day!

Hey, one note - you blacked out your last name on the AP menu on the first page, but your last name is still visible on the Ohana flower picture. Just in case you want to keep that under wraps :)
