A Vacation From My Problems (A Sept. 2010 Trip Report) - COMPLETED 12/14

Captain, just remeber that memory is all relative. If I remeber something "differently" than say DW, I'm not always wrong, we just had a different point of view. Use this at your leisure... :rotfl2:

Ok, so what percentage of the time are you wrong?
Personally, I use 80% as my Mendoza line. Being wrong less than 80% of the time is a personal goal of mine. I'll have to check with DW, but I'm pretty sure I'm no where near that.

Your powers are weak, my dear

Star Wars... and I'm not getting into that IV crap... it is THE original Star Wars.

Dumb and Dumber.

No, I was definitely doing a continuation of the Christmas Story reference brought up by Tinkerbellarella.

Besides, you're my nemesis. I have to do something to annoy you.

Empire Strikes Back

That's a tough call. While I would love to beat the Mendoza line, it's kind of a lose-lose situation. Either you're wrong on an issue and admit defeat, or you prove yourself right but have to sleep on the couch.

None of what you are about to hear... ever happened.

I'm going to go way out on a limb and say that this is a Dragnet reference.

Is it sad that when I watch movies now and hear a particular line I think "Oh, that would work well in a trip report - I'll have to remember that for later". So if you have any Beverly Hills Cop or Heartbreak Ridge quotes coming up - I'll be on 'em! :thumbsup2

I think if I set the bar at 90% I might be close, but 80% is out kicking my coverage. As for admitting I'm wrong I have implemented the policy that I always get the last word... typically they are "Yes, dear."

I guess I can accept that... or I mean AArrrgggghhhh!!! How can you not give me a point for that????

Hey, that's my line!

See that? I knew you'd have my back there.

:love2:

::yes:: Your powers are weak, my dear.
 (I couldn't find a smilie sticky out its tongue....that's as close as I could get....)

I have no idea what Julie's points are worth

You haven't figured it out YET? :confused3

You might have mentioned that to me once or twice... :rolleyes1

Oh, and you've NEVER repeated a story or joke.... :rolleyes1

I'm going to go way out on a limb and say that this is a Dragnet reference.

Actually, I had the opening crawl to a certain movie in mind.

And the quote in the previous chapter (1st entry for Day 6) is still out there. Here's a hint: the line was delivered by a 2-time Oscar-winning actor who recently had a movie released to theaters. The line was also part of one of his Oscar-winning roles.

Careful Tanya, you're describing our dear Captain's life.

I resemble that remark.

But I haven't seen Beverly Hills Cop in years! And I've never seen Heartbreak Ridge. Sounds like I have my work cut out for me.

Seven words to a happy marriage: "You're right. I'm sorry. I love you!"

I guess I can accept that... or I mean AArrrgggghhhh!!! How can you not give me a point for that????

:stir:

Sorry, I only have 17 jokes/anedotes. I can only stretch that material so far. But it's too late--you're stuck with me now! :woohoo::cool1:

You're Right - When Harry Met Sally
I'm Sorry - Happy Gilmore
I love you - Patch Adams

:lmao: You might be right. I'm pretty sure the line "I love you" has never, ever been uttered in any movie besides Patch Adams.

Actually, I need to apologize, Marv. I seem to have missed one of yours:

Nerd Alert - Austin Powers, International Man of Mystery

You mean I could have earned more points by listing all of them????

:woohoo: Still need to verify that "freakin' awesome" quote from Benchwarmers too......... :rolleyes1

That's a Clint Eastwood movie -- get on it man!

We just watched it last night - so if you watch it tonight and work some of those quotes into your report tomorrow - I might still remember them. Although, now that I think about it, there probably aren't too many quotes appropriate for a family vacation to Disney World....:rolleyes1

You haven't figured it out YET? :confused3

I can't believe I'm doing this, but in his defense, I haven't seen anyone trade any Knowitall points for Oblivious points. Therefore, we really don't have an exchange rate to go by to determine the relative value.:confused3

On a sidenote, with all the posts from the Captain and the Mrs. today, it is obvious that it must not have been a productive day in Delaware.

Great update! It looks as if the kids really enjoyed their "mission."

Would that be the Chocolate on Chocolate Whiskey Cake you had for dessert at LeCellier????? If so, all I can say is: :worship::worship::worship:
