A Vacation From My Problems (A Sept. 2010 Trip Report) - COMPLETED 12/14

Wonderful trip around WS! I did not find any movie quotes, but I am sure others will! :thumbsup2

And on the Pennsylvania Dutch: The German word for "German" is "Deutsch" - so that's where it most likely comes from! :goodvibes

Of course I didn't slack off fast enough at work to guess on any of the trivia I knew :rotfl:

Great update that cracks me up as usual :goodvibes and GREAT pictures of WS!! Like I said in my TR, I really want to dedicate a day just to WS next time...I think the missions help you check out the different countries too...might have to check that out next trip :thumbsup2

I vow I am getting into Le Cellier next trip!! I need some cheese soup

Are you playing lookout at the phone booth?? :rotfl:

Evening was now approaching. We asked the kids what they had liked about the day. Sarah said the spy missions were awesome! Dave said he liked finding the golf ball in the U.K. And Scotty said he needed to go poopies.

Scotty has his priorities down.:thumbsup2

+1
By the way, I just counted and we're up to 95 separate movies and TV shows that have been referenced in this TR, not including the one that nobody seems to be able to find/care about. Just imagine if I'd used these brain cells on something useful rather than memorizing movie quotes.

Nobody cares??? :confused3 I guessed 2 different movies for the last one and got shot down on both :headache: We just aren't watching the same movies.:rolleyes1

And since there is a trip report attached to all these movie quotes :rolleyes1 I thought I'd say....

I'm loving your top secret adentures. My boys (a bunch of teenagers) have done several of them. I did one on my trip last week. When you saved Germany - was there a clue involving a cuckoo clock??? I was one step behind another set of agents who were also saving Germany and they were observing the actions of a cuckoo clock. My mission never included that. Granted my Kimmunicator froze up while trying to make an earlier observation. I was standing in the indicated location and pressing my button and it kept coming back asking me if I was sure I was in the right location. :confused3 Then it kind of froze up. I powered it down and back on - hoping that the loss of communication wouldn't trigger any red flags at HQ - it got me back online.....but no cuckoo clock. :confused3 I did see the steins you mentioned.....twice :hippie:. The agents ahead of me triggered it, then I was sent to it also. I think Germany was sufficiantly saved. :thumbsup2

Love, love, love the Germany mission!!! It was my absolute favorite!

Great update! Our whole family loves World Showcase. We could spend hours there. I think on our To Do list next time will be stupid hat pictures. We haven't really done that yet.

We did one of the Kidcot stops in May, but the coloring took too long. We may have to try the passports next time.

Another really cheap souvenir--pressed pennies! We loved trying to find all the machines. We missed a ton this trip, but that leaves some to do on following trips.

Oh I care...I just don't know it...and figured the Frozen Monkey or Meerkat would beat me to it anyway.

Well, I've given a couple of hints for it already.

1. War movie
2. Line was spoken by a 2-time Oscar winner (in one of his winning roles) who just had a new movie released to theaters.

Here's a third: several people posted responses to the quote without realizing it was a movie line.

:lmao:frozen monkey.:lmao: BARRY!!! FREZINRAFEKE!!! DO I GET A POINT?????

:sad2: Here's a point just for trying.

+1 :thumbsup2

Dang! Speaking of "Office Space", someone was in my office space when that quote got thrown out there and made me miss it. I love that movie.

The more time I spend in my cube, the more I realize how much that movie got right.

Get off my lawn!

Monster House...and UP!

Hmm. I haven't seen Monster House, and in Up Carl actually said, "Get off my roof" to Kevin. I was actually thinking of a completely different movie with this quote.

If I can find confirmation of Monster House, I'll give you a point.

Wonderful trip around WS! I did not find any movie quotes, but I am sure others will! :thumbsup2

And on the Pennsylvania Dutch: The German word for "German" is "Deutsch" - so that's where it most likely comes from! :goodvibes

:thanks:

That is exactly where the term comes from. I was playing dumb for comic effect. Ahem.

They became self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th.

Terminator 2 I believe?

+1 :thumbsup2

And :welcome: Another DIS Dad in the house.

First time posting, and you've already got a point. Nice work!

Sometimes you have a disease, and the only cure is more cowbell.

Let that be a lesson to you, Shannon. Slacking off for trivial meaningless points is much more important than work.

Glad you like the pictures! The missions definitely made the countries more interesting, both for kids and guys not interested in expensive perfume shops.

Um...yeah, I'm the lookout. Yeah, that's it. Either that, or my hand is halfway on its way to nose-picking position. :rotfl2:

Hasta la vista baby = Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Call the Vatican. See if something is missing. = Analyze This

That was an awesome update Captain! :thumbsup2

:thanks:

6th pit stop in our race around the world.

The Amazing Race

+1 :thumbsup2

I was wondering if there were any Amazing Race fans around here.

Scotty has his priorities down.:thumbsup2

Hey, when you gotta go, you gotta go.

Indeed it would! Great stuff. Is it bad if I still wanted more cheese soup afterwards, though?

Not if my asking for more cheese soup and then another piece of cake is not bad. ;)

And Scotty said he needed to go poopies.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

What a great day at World Showcase. My kids always loved Epcot (sometimes more than the MK), but I still wish they had something like this when they were younger. :sad2:

Can't wait to hear about the next day.

Nobody cares??? :confused3 I guessed 2 different movies for the last one and got shot down on both :headache: We just aren't watching the same movies.:rolleyes1

Uh oh. Now I've made you angry. Maybe you should send me your Netflix queue so we get on the same page.

gran torino - clint eastwood

THAT's the movie I was thinking of!

+1 :thumbsup2

Gremlins.....or I suppose you are going to tell me - sometimes a word is just a word???:rolleyes1 ;)

Testy, testy. This is a quality movie reference, so I'll give you a point. Happy now?

+1 :thumbsup2

And since there is a trip report attached to all these movie quotes :rolleyes1 I thought I'd say....

Ah...music to my ears--taking the time to comment on the TR deserves a bonus point!

Please continue.

Yes, we did the cuckoo clock as well! In fact, after it was set off, one of the people strolling through the shop took notice and said, "Oh, that's a very nice-sounding clock." She had no idea we'd set it off. I love that.

I still laugh about the beer steins. I don't know why, but it just tickles me.

Love, love, love the Germany mission!!! It was my absolute favorite!

Don't say that around KatMark. She will insist they're not stupid. :lmao:

We didn't really want to wait around for our kids to color, either. The stamps and personal messages were a way to get some good interaction with the natives of those countries. Although the guy in France wrote something to my daughter about being a "true Princess", or something. Dude, slow down. She's not dating till she's 30, and I have my shotgun. :rotfl2:

I've never tried the pressed pennies. I tend to pinch mine instead. (rim shot) Thank you! I'll be here all week.

Here's a third: several people posted responsed to the quote without realizing it was a movie line.

Hmmmm... you definitely have me stumped. Are we talking 2 Oscars for best leading actor?

I can't seem to come up with any movies that even meet the criteria of your clues.
