A Vacation From My Problems (A Sept. 2010 Trip Report) - COMPLETED 12/14

bahahahaha!! PINHEADS!!! What a great acronym!! :rotfl::rotfl2:

We too used to succumb to such measures.... the Matterhorn, Snow White and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride (where you end in hell... really? pretty creepy! :) ) all caused private trauma for our kiddos. So, my husband would always say, "No problem!" throughout the ride, and pretend to "shoot" all the scary parts away. To this day,15 years later, we all still stay that! :)

And I so agree about the peacefulness of Tom Sawyer's Island. I love it over there -- feels like old Disney. Or maybe I'm just old??? :)

Alrighty then = Ace Ventura Pet Detective

ETA: Peanut Butter! I didn't see that afwdwfan beat me to that one.

Great chapter Mark!

We did manage to take the first of our many Stupid Hats Pictures©.

I love the copyright! :rotfl2:

With great reluctance, we found ourselves entering PINHEADS mode (Parental Idiocy Necessary to Help Ease the Anxiety of Dave and Scotty). You've been there before.

Yes, and my kids don't have the same names. Maybe the DS stands for Dear Son in my case.

"Naked Chip and Dale".

Back on the game....I think that's actually a movie title...but you can only get it by mail order.

(cut us some slack, we're from Delaware. Not much happens here)

Tell me about it...that's why I only work there. ;)

nice update captain!:thumbsup2 even though the movie quotes go over my head, its fun reading were they came from. :lmao:

Better use of snack credit: Dole Whip Float.

Awesome use of time with the rides; you all got a ton of stuff knocked out- EVEN with time to pump the runaway trains full of lead!! NICE!

Double D'oh!! I hate that amateur mistake of getting stuck by the 3:00 time waster. And when you're stuck, you are REALLY, really stuck. It's an art to dodge them, you know.

Ace Ventura

+1 :thumbsup2

D'oh! -- The Simpsons: The Movie (and just about every TV show too.)

Sweet Nectar of Life -- Crab#2 ...Finding Nemo

+1 :thumbsup2

I wasn't actually trying to quote anything with the sweet nectar of life part, but I looked it up, and you are absolutely right! That's impressive.

I liked Mr. Toad's Wild Ride--more than I like Pooh, actually. But I'm kinda sick that way.

Es-kah-pay = Finding Nemo

+1 :thumbsup2

Now I'm just mad at myself... how did I miss that one?????

D'OH!

:upsidedow Yeah, that one was a gimme.

:yay::yay:Planes Trains & Automobiles

Feel free to adapt the acronym.

As for that "film"...I'm not sure I wanna see that one! :scared1: :lmao:

Where do you work? I had no idea you were so close.

Glad you're sticking around anyway!

My wife got the Dole Whip Float so we could try both. I liked the straight-up Dole Whip, while she liked the Float better. Either way, it's pure bliss.

I suppose one would have to be... an Artful Dodger, even. ;)

"Naked Chip and Dale"

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: That is hilarious!!!!

Yes. Yes, it was. Good one, Glenn. :rotfl:

Great update. Glad you found some rides that Scotty and Dave enjoyed. I hated that car thing...I always made Mark take the kids when they were younger.

Now, I have a BONE to pick with you.

But we finally found something he liked--bouncing on the barrel bridge. (insert sigh of relief here)

We did manage to take the first of our many Stupid Hats Pictures©.

We'll come back with a short update to wrap up our day with dinner and some miscellaneous pictures, but in the meantime, I'll leave you with another Stupid Hat Picture©.

There is NO SUCH THING as a stupid hat picture. If you read any of my report (and didn't just skim like some people), you saw PLENTY of SILLY hat pictures, but never a Stupid Hat Picture. ;)

Oliver!

Jill in CO

Not a quote, but a valid reference. What the heck...

I haven't read the whole report yet, but I did see some Silly Hat Pictures. Obviously, we're talking about two completely different things, because if I ripped it off directly from you, it would be copyright infringement. Yours are silly. Mine are stupid. Yours have fun-loving adults. Mine have cute kids. You see? Completely different. Sort of like that old fast-food restaurant, McDougall's:

They have the Big Mac...we have the Big Mick.
They have the Golden Arches...we have the Golden Arcs.

All right, I'll accept your explanation. ;)

But I personally think that Scotty's hats are silly and cute. :goodvibes

You know I agree. If it makes you feel better, I'm using "stupid" as a term of endearment in this case.

You are hysterical. I must get my daughter to read this report. Cannot wait for more...

RATS, and that was even MY setup!!!

Dang it!! I slacked again! I'm destined to live with my 3 measly points for the rest of all eternity!

Wow, talk about drama queen! Geez! I did get the escape one, the Ace Ventura one, and the Planes, Trains, and Automobile one as I was reading. I just read the report about 16 hours too late.

Great update! I've had a ton of PINHEAD moments and my husband was kind enough to point out how it sounded when we were at Chef Mickey's for lunch and the mom at the table next to us was in full PINHEAD mode. My darling, sweet, loveable husband leaned over to me and said "See? That's how stupid YOU sound."

Great, thanks, dear. Love you, too.
