A Vacation From Kuwait... The TR!

I have made a few changes to my ADRs again but nothing too drastic. :rolleyes1 I canceled our Yak and Yeti ADR because I found out they don't accept TIW. Instead that evening we'll be having dinner at Kona and attending MNSSHP if the tentative dates I have seen for it are correct.

So now for some potentially bad news... Scott may not be able to go on the trip at all depending on the date we return and our orders end. It's a long story and I won't bore you all with details but It's really making me nervous! I always thought I wouldn't mind doing a solo trip but thinking about being there without him when he was supposed to be with me just makes me sad.:sad1: For now I'm keeping all the reservations as if he will be able to go and just keeping my fingers crossed! Definitely in need of some magic and pixie dust!! :goodvibes

Oh no... I'm sorry to hear there might be a conflict with Scott's schedule!

Sending lots of pixiedust that it will all work out!!

pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

That's awful  We'll keep our fingers crossed that everything works out for you guys....I remember a few trips being cancelled when my dad was sent on peacekeeping missions:rolleyes1

I hate that Yak 'n' Yeti doesn't accept TIW because it's one of my favorites. Also, I'm sorry to hear Scott may not be able to join you, here is some pixie dust :wizard: to hope that everything works out to plan!

I hate canceling trips. I have had to do it a couple of times and it's the worst! I have a back up plan for now. A girlfriend of mine said she would come down for a few days if Scott can't make it. It wouldn't be the same but I'm sure we would have a lot of fun. But for now I'm just praying that it works out for Scott. We will really need some quality time together after this deployment.

I love Yak & Yeti. Aidan and I ate there a couple of summers ago. That wonton dessert is sooooooo good.

I hope that things work out and Scott can go.
We've never eaten at Yak and Yeti so I had no idea that they don't accept TIW. Teppan Edo doesn't accept it either but we're still eating there.

I really enjoyed my meal at Teppan Edo. We will definitely go back at some point. I think Scott may have figured out a way to go on the trip but I'm not getting too excited until I hear for sure. :confused3

We slept a little late that morning and didn't make rope drop which is fine with me for all the parks but MK. We were walking through the turnstiles by 9:30 and we headed straight for the land pavilion for Soarin fast passes then breakfast at Sunshine Seasons. Didn't get pictures this time. We got two bounty platters and I got the blueberry croissant bread pudding to share. Well I didn't end up sharing mine because it was soooooo good! Aidan went and got another so everyone could have some. ;) I will most definitely be going back for more in the fall.

Our FPs weren't good until 11:45 so we went over to the Seas for Turtle Talk with crush. It was chilly that morning so being inside was the main goal. I love this show and it was probably one of the funniest ones we have seen. It really can go either way depending on how good the "actor" playing Crush is and how good the audience interaction is too.

After Crush I insisted we go on Journey Into the Imagination because Caleb had never done it (and it was inside). Aidan hates this ride but me being the great mother I am made him go on anyway. I promise I won't do again though... That ride is pretty terrible.

Since cool spot was right there we went in and spent quite a bit of time sampling the drinks and looking around the shop. I wish they sold bottles of the soda they have for sampling. I would love to buy some of the watermelon flavored from China.

We wandered over to Test Track but the wait time was already 60 minutes so we did Mission Space instead. I'm the only one in the group that gets motion sick and can't do the orange team so everyone did the green with me. I don't love this ride but it's ok and we were mostly killing time waiting to use our FPs for Soarin. Since we were in the area we went on Universe of Energy. This is another one Caleb hadn't done and I was needing a nap since I still wasn't sleeping great. I made sure we were the last ones in so we would for sure get a whole row to ourselves. As soon as we sat down i took of my shoes balled up Aidan's sweatshirt and stretched out. I have been on this ride a billion times so I don't feel the need to pay much attention to it. I actually dozed for most of the ride and felt pretty good after. :goodvibes

It was time for Soarin now so back over to the land we went. The FP line moved nice and quick and we got the front row!:thumbsup2 We're usually pretty lucky with that.

It was lunch time so we went over to WS to eat and spend the rest of the afternoon looking around and shopping. We entered through Canada and stopped for fish and chips from the Yorkshire County Fish Shop. The woman in line in front of us was being so rude to the poor girls that work the counter. She was mad because of how "long" it was taking and she kept looking at me to agree with her. You know the type I'm talking about here. I just ignored her and placed my order. It took around 5 minutes to get our food and it was delicious as usual.

We spent the rest of the day making our way around WS shopping and snacking. Aidan and I were ready to go back to the room but Mom and Caleb stuck around the park to ride TT and do Innoventions.

The boys got these disgusting shrimp flavored chips in Japan. I think They had a few each and ended up throwing them away.

I'm with you...I only care about rope drop at the MK....any other park we can get there when we get there!

Why do people have to be rude to service people....it makes me crazy...probably because I have to deal with it on a daily basis with my staff. Respect...is that too much to ask...good for you for ignoring her!!

Shrimp flavored chips.... that's how that made me feel:lmao: Any news on the upcoming trip???

I have a hard time not being rude back to people like this woman but stooping to their level seems like the wrong thing to do so I just try to ignore it. I have seen stuff far worse than that in the past. :confused3 It's tough to bite your tongue sometimes though.

Plans are coming along. Made some ADR changes (of course). I'll get a PTR update posted today. :goodvibes

Just a quick PTR update since I have been slacking in the planning department. :goodvibes
I have made some changed to my ADRs! Of course... Our first night there will be an early dinner at The Wave. We are breaking tradition on this one since out first dinner is always at Epcot but it's Aidan's favorite so I couldn't drop it. We'll head over to Epcot after for Illuminations.
We'll be dining at 'Ohana on night two since my Mom has never been and it's Scott's favorite. Hopefully he will be there for it! :confused3
Mama Melrose is still on the list as our race day lunch but Sunday night I had changed fro Yak & Yeti to Kona but I have changed it AGAIN to The Coral Reef. This will be our race celebration dinner. Aidan and Mom will have departed so it's going to be just me and Scott from here on out. He loves aquariums and pretty much anything to do with sea life so he'll love this. I found out that a lot of the Kona menu items are on the in room dining menu too so we'll do that one day instead. No change to our Monday ADRs. Sunday is still lunch at Rose and Crown but I canceled the Luau for that night so we can eat at the F & W booths for dinner. The only other change I made is a breakfast at Grand Floridian Cafe on Thursday morning.
So that's where we stand right now as far as dining goes. I think we might be adding another night so we'll need another dinner.

I don't love Mission: Space either. My son LOVES the orange and my DH doesn't do great with it so I usually take him.
I hate when people are rude!!! It really annoys me!

I really have a hard time keeping my mouth shut when I encounter rude people in the parks. You just never know how some people are going to react though. On my last trip there was a girl on a balcony below us dropping F bombs like it was going out of style while we were trying to enjoy watching the animals one afternoon so I asked her nicely to please tone down her language and her response to me was "f*%k you!!" I couldn't believe it.:confused3 We argued for a little bit then I just called the front desk and I'm assuming they took care of it. Some people are unbelievable though.

Great changes btw to your ADR's...when Jasmine and I go alone on a trip, I look at things at least once a week and move stuff around!!

I can't believe that happened to you, but then again, I can! Our last trip was the worst ever for encountering rude people....down right obnoxious some were! It's the things people say and do in the lines for the buses that Jasmine and I were most disgusted with.....do they not see all the little ones around?:confused3 We never use foul language around any of our children, so when I hear it, it makes me crazy!!

Hey friends.:rolleyes1 Sorry I have been so neglectful of this TR! Things here are getting busy as we get ready to go home!:thumbsup2 We have less than 75 days to go until we're on a bus leaving this god forsaken camp for the last time! I know it sounds a bit dramatic but boy am I sick of this place! :sad2:

So on to our AK day! Another rope drop missed this morning but we got there early enough that the EE line was still only 10 minutes. We got fast passes and hopped in line to ride.

Silly boys... After a couple rides it was time to head over to the Conservation Station (or whatever it's called now) for our personal tour of the lab and feeding facilities for all of AK! My Dad is good friends with someone who's daughter is a cast member there so he set this all up for us! I wasn't allowed to take pictures back stage but it was a really neat tour and our guide Katie was so sweet. It took about an hour and I couldn't even begin to describe all the stuff we learned but it was very cool.

We didn't hang around after because we were starving by then so it was off to Flame tree for some lunch. We all had the pulled pork sandwich. It was delicious! I'll definitely be going back for one in October.:lovestruc

085.jpg

As you can see from the picture we had a couple of the Key Lime Pie Mousse and 2 Chocolate ones as well. I didn't try the chocolate but the boys liked them and I loved the Key Lime! Yummy!
After lunch we used our FP's at EE and took a few more pictures of our favorite ride at AK.

After our fill of the Yeti we made our way over to Dinoland for my other favorite, Dinosaur! Aidan could take it or leave it and it scares the bejesus out of Caleb (DN) but they both insisted on riding with me.:thumbsup2

We're in the back row. This picture is not nearly as funny as last years. I can't upload it from my work cpu but I'll post it later. :goodvibes

After our trip through time the kids wanted to go on Kali River Rapids. I wasn't in the mood to get wet but Mom said she would ride with them so off we went back over to Asia. I stood on the bridge so I could snap some pictures of them hopefully soaked!:rotfl:

Caleb ended up being the one that got it the worst but you know kids and getting wet, for some reason they love it.

Aidan and I were ready to head out but Caleb and Mom stuck around for a little while to ride EE and see It's Tough to be a Bug.

On our way out of the park we stopped for our favorite snack at AK....

We sit on that bench every time we stop for a jalapeno pretzel, which is every time we go to AK. I guess it's kind of a tradition we started with out even realizing it. I wish Aidan would stop growing up now! ;)

I guess I should get a PTR post done since we only have 109 days to go! I keep making changes but I think I'm finished with that. Things are still up in the air with Scott being able to attend as of right now. I'll be going either way but it won't be as much fun without him. Worst case scenario I'll just keep Aidan out of school longer than I planned and cut the trip a bit short.

Day one looks like this; We'll be arriving at MCO at 12:40 and I'm hoping to be to the resort by 2pm. We'll get checked in, change and head right to Epcot to try for a Soarin FP. I don't have high hopes that there will be any left but we've been lucky before. If not we'll hit up Mission Space (green) then just head over to WS to spend some time before our dinner ADR at Rose and Crown at 5:20. After dinner it will be more leisurely strolling and maybe a kimpossible mission while we're waiting for Illuminations. Once the fireworks are over we'll take our time getting out to the Monorail to head back to the Poly. I must say that I am so excited to finally be staying there!:goodvibes
