A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

I'll catch up on replies after while, but first I want to share the rest of my Alabama time with you guys.

Here are a few more from Bridge Street. It is such a pretty place, and it made me think of Epcot.

Alabamatime068.jpg

Alabamatime069.jpg

Guess what two Disney rides/attractions I thought of the second I saw this.

Alabamatime070.jpg

Time is up. What came to your mind in 0.3 milliseconds?

Yep, that's what I thought.

The outside world can never just be the outside world again. It has ties to Disney that it doesn't even know!

A pretty magnolia.

Alabamatime071.jpg

Alabamatime072.jpg

Bella chillin' with Mommy.

Alabamatime083.jpg

I saw this store and was reminded of a young man we all know and love.

Alabamatime084.jpg

Well, most of us don't really know him, but we know about him, and we definitely love him!

Back at home, Brooklynn loved all of her Canadian gifts.

Alabamatime093.jpg

Alabamatime094.jpg

Alabamatime095.jpg

Bella does this a lot.

Next up: haircuts :cutie: and pigs' feet. :scared1:

Today, we crossed the border back into Tennessee.

Our plan was to get Brooklynn a haircut, got to Cool Springs, eat at Puckett's at the prompting of stasieki, and then walk around historic Franklin.

We were first at the haircut place.

Alabamatime097.jpg

Alabamatime098.jpg

Alabamatime099.jpg

There were a few moments that Brooklynn was less than thrilled, but she sat quietly and didn't balk.

Alabamatime100.jpg

Then it was time for our Disney fix.

Alabamatime101.jpg

Alabamatime102.jpg

Alabamatime103.jpg

Rockin' out!

Alabamatime104.jpg

Alabamatime105.jpg

A happy little shopper.

Alabamatime106.jpg

Alabamatime107.jpg

We have a picture of a sleeping Brooklynn with Minnie Mouse ears, too.

Alabamatime108.jpg

Donald and Minnie waved goodbye to the girls and said they'd see them in Disney World very soon!

Alabamatime109.jpg

Alabamatime110.jpg

Then it was on to Puckett's.

Alabamatime111.jpg

Alabamatime112.jpg

Alabamatime114.jpg

Jill said I should point out this interesting product.

Alabamatime113.jpg

What we did NOT eat.

Alabamatime115.jpg

What we did eat.

Brooklynn got grilled cheese and fries.

Alabamatime116.jpg

I got chicken salad and potato salad.

Alabamatime117.jpg

Jill had chicken strips and fries, and they looked like most other chicken strips and fries you ever seen. That picture didn't turn out too great.

Our plans to walk around the town were thwarted by a thunderstorm. We'll do that another day. We want to take the guys to Puckett's sometime, too.

So, that was the end of our time together. We went back to pick up my car where we had left it, and had a round of hugs and kisses. Brooklynn got a new Playhouse Disney CD to listen to in the car on the way home, and she fell asleep after a little while. Last I talked to Jill, she was hoping to get her into the house without waking up. I hope that worked for her.

I have to go think about supper now. See ya real soon!

I went for Xrays and I have a detached rib....:scared1:
No wonder I am in pain.
Tomorrow I will find out how they will fix it.

Looks like you had a fun day! :cool1:

The haircut place is really cool! Brooklynn was so good to sit stll. She is such sweet little girl.

Love the Minnie ears on Bella, one day they will fit her.

I'm so glad Brooklynn liked all the stuff. That smile made it so worth it.

So you are back home, cooking for your boys....how thoughtful of you.

Oh gosh, I just love the smell of a Magnolia blossom........ I have to fight the urge to run up to everyone that I see and have myself a sniff!

It looks like another fun day with your girls, glad you didn't eat any monkey brains or pigs feet, however appetizing it seemed at the moment......
I'm heading out for a color and trim, why doesn't my salon seem as fun as the one where Brooklynn got to go?:confused3

Love the pictures! Brooklynn did NOT look too happy about getting her hair cut! Is the Playhouse Disney CD good? We need some new music in the car.

Hello.:wave2: I'm not sure I'll ever be caught up, but I'm going to give it my best college try! What a beautiful family you have.:goodvibes

hey, guys! i wanted to let you know that brett's hearing has been postponed to next week. the judge is out of town and his attorney got it rescheduled to make sure he got the original judge he was assigned to. anyway, just wanted to let you know, memom, since you've been asking about it. ;)

I was born in one of those states. Anybody want to guess which one?

i didn't peek, i swear! my guess is oklahoma.

King Kong captured the pretty woman.

and i'm named after that pretty woman! seriously, i'm named after jessica lange's character in the 1976 version of king kong. her name is actually dwan but she says she switched two letters from "dawn" to make it more memorable. i'm glad my parents went with dawn instead of dwan!

glad kay got her mickey bar and liked it! :thumbsup2

Bella had her first official tub bath and loved it!

IMG_0640.jpg

so sweet!

Yeah the toddler talk is quite humorous. This morning she informed me "I can't know how to find my socks." She is also getting to the age where some of her friends are saying things like "stupid" and "butt" She knows that we are not allowed to say those things so when she hears someone say it she always looks at me and says "We can't say butt or stupid (whichever applies). That is not very nice." Too which I always reply right. We were in the car a few days ago and John and I were talking about where we needed to go next and he said "But I need to go to Lowe's first." She flew all over that. "Mommy, Daddy said butt. We don't say that it is not very nice." So then I had to try and explain the difference between butt and but to my two year old.

so cute! once we met my mom and stepbrothers and their kids in chattanooga to go to the aquarium there. they rented a 10-passenger van and we all rode in it to go eat lunch. i had to sit in ray's lap in the front seat and i said something about my big butt and my niece, madison, said, "aunt dawn, it's BOTTOM, not butt!!!!!" it was so sweet!

this is such a sweet picture!

congrats on the end of the school year, memom! :goodvibes

I listened to "Oh Canada" about 30 times in the car today since Brooklynn was wearing her Canada bracelet and insisted we had to listen to it. She also took the magnets to church tonight to show her friends her Canada prizes. It was very sweet of you to send her such a fun package!

Love the pictures! Brooklynn did NOT look too happy about getting her hair cut! Is the Playhouse Disney CD good? We need some new music in the car.

Brooklynn has only had her hair cut twice. Both times on Main Street USA so even though Snip Its is fun - it ain't no Disney World hair cut. The CD is a really good one with songs from all the Playhouse shows.

More cute pics. I spy a Disney store bag...

What a fun day! Thanks for sharing... I wonder what was in the Disney bag?

Brooklynn got some new tank tops for our July trip!

Aw...Brookie's looking more like an experienced shopper every day! :cutie:

We are training her well.

Thanks for keeping us updated on Brett. I was actually wondering about that this morning. Hope you had fun in New York and have gotten some rest.

Oh, that is the cutest fruit arrangement I have ever seen!!!

The picture doesn't do it justice. In real life it was very bright and colorful and you could smell the fresh pineapple along with it, and it made it even better. It's expenxive, but a great gift for someone. Like someone mentioned earlier, you also have the vase to keep for future Disney parties, so I have a feeling you'll be seeing that again many times over.

I'm glad she liked the tee!

The fruit basket is so yummy looking! You will be able to use the container afterwards. :thumbsup2

Jill you are a wonderful daughter. ;)

Have a good day all together! :goodvibes

Oh, it was you who said that about the container! :)
I knew I had read that comment.

Yes, Jill is a wonderful daughter, and she proves that more and more as time goes on. She is such a thoughtful girl, and I am just so proud of who she is and how she thinks of others so much! She is such a giving, sharing person.

Did you plan the hidden mickey of coins in Brooklynn's hand at Chuck E Cheese or did it just happened that way?

I just stuck coins in her hands so that she could display them. I'll have to go back and see the Hidden Mickey, because I didn't pay attention.

As soon as I saw that camera from the side, though, I knew we had a Mickey ears picture going there!

It sounds like you all had a great day. Brooklynn surely does love water. The smile on Brooklynn's face when she saw you all was precious. What a great surprise for her. I hope you have another fun day today!

She does love the water. She has to put money in every fountain she sees.
She was slow to get started in the jets. She walked around the edges of them for a while, but then she finally started getting wet. That man was demonstrating how to do it, and it was cute to watch him. He wanted to get in there with all of his heart!

That fruit arrangement is so cute! I've been wanting to order my DH an edible arrangement for awhile now. He loves fruit so I think he'd really like it. So thoughtful of Jill!

You wouldn't be disappointed. It is a little pricey, but it was so pretty in person, and all of the fruit was excellent.

Glad you had a fun time at Chuck E Cheese even though the pizza was gross! I used to love going to Chuck E Cheese but i guess I don;t remember the pizza! We have one near us but i have not gone. I can;t wait til Caleb is older to go...but I guess we might have to be cautious with the pizza! :rotfl:

Here we love our Coldstone creamery...same idea...ice cream with mixins done on a marble slab...soo good. My mom jokes that my dads car always has to stop there when they go by one! It can;t not stop! :confused3:lmao:

I don't ever remember their pizza being terrible, so I guess this was an exception. I'm totally not a food snob, but that pizza was not tasty, in my opinion. Maybe it was just my taste buds that day, but Jill thought it was ungood, too. I remember wondering how many repeat customers would order pizza or how many just came back for drinks and video games!

Is that Mickey pineapple?!

Yes. The Mickey head pineapple slices made the arrangement so cute! Almost everybody commented on that when they saw them!

Awww what a cute fruit arrangment! I loveeee me some Edible Arrangments, they're soooo delicious.

As always, Brooklynn and Bella pictures are adorable. I like Brooklynn's blue ice cream and method of getting tokens in Chuck E. Cheese

MeMom and Jill, how did you get so lucky to get such photogenic girls?! :goodvibes

I would recommend that fruit arrangement as a gift instead of flowers sometimes. We still have a little left, but the strawberries were gobbled up in about two days!

The blue ice cream was messy, but fun. ;)

I am lucky, aren't I, to have all those sweet, beautiful girls?:lovestruc:cutie:

MeMom, I'm so glad you are having such a wonderful time with those girls of yours. I have my scumscream packed because I really hate scum and screaming of any kind! That fruit bouquet was amazing! I'm not sure I could have eaten it, were you sure to show it off to the point of being annoying before digging in?
Jill, you look marvelous!

To me, sounds like what the Monsters, Inc. characters would use.

I bet your guys would have torn into the fruit, just like what happened at my house!

The arrangement arrived when we were up front for the luncheon, so everyone saw it. They thought it was so sweet of Jill! A few of them offered to help open it.

OMG. with DS's 1st bday and DDs 10 th and disney cruise and school and life i totally missed the end of Over the river and this report until just now.lol. Jill congratulations on a beautiful family!!!! Im just starting this report but I see you had another beautiful daughter. Yea! And a WDW trip in July. We took the baby in Marcha nd it was so much fun with the baby.

You have been really busy! Are you going to do a trip report?
If not, feel free to share a few of your favorite pictures here, if you'd like.

What a fun day you girls had! Chuck E Cheese is one of our favorites. I know you said the pizza didn't taste so hot but it looks delicious! And I'm starving. Aren't the ticket munchers hilarious! My kiddos love them. Heehee. Maggie Moos looks really good. Is it sort of like Cold Stone Creamery? That's one of our favorites too! I think I should take a day off of work and take the kiddos to Chuck E and out for ice cream too. You've inspired me! :) The fruit arrangement looks delicious as well. I would have eaten all of that pineapple!

Yep, a day playing together would be fun! The kids just love running from game to game. We used to take our school summer camp groups, and they would just buzz around from game to game just about running over each other with excitement!

The pineapple was delicious!

Whew, I am finally caught up! I got sucked into the trainwreck that is the Jon and Kate Plus 8 thread. I finally had to stop checking it, as it was overwhelming me.

I love all the updates, the snake skeleton is especially cool. We haven't been back to Rafiki's Planet Watch for a couple of years, I'll have to change that in September! By the way, I am excited for your trip to come, when you guys get back I'll get to go. :dance3:

It looks like you are having so much fun with Brooklynn, Jill, and Bella, I know you are enjoying your time with them (even if you are making me crave ice cream now!). Please post pictures when you get a chance, I am anxious to see the presents from Canada!

Jill--As if Bella doesn't have enough Dis boyfriends, my little boy is 10 months old and is pretty handsome!! :thumbsup2

Krista

I have looked at that thread several times. I think that TLC is getting a little tabloidish airing what is obviously a marriage and family falling apart for millions to sit and watch. It's a sad situation, and those kids are going to have to deal with the damage in time. Jon has said stop, but since Kate is too caught up in her perceived stardom (for what she thinks she is a star, I'm not sure, because she's only on TV because she has a lot of kids, not because she has a talent of some kind), then I think TLC should have the smarts to stop the show. Why would anyone want to show a family being destroyed for the world to see? I don't get it, and I certainly don't watch it any longer. I have seen enough in commercials to just make me sick and so sad for the situation.

I feel the same way about all the people around here who are headed out this week and in the next month. We'll get to enjoy knowing they are having fun down there, then hear their updates, and then know our trip is coming right on the heels of theirs! :cool1:

We'll add your little guy to the boyfriends! Jill and I have talked about how much fun it would be to have a huge meet, and we named all the kids we could think of in this big group. It would be so much fun to watch them swim and play together while we all sat out by the pool and just talked about everything under the sun!

I went for Xrays and I have a detached rib....:scared1:
No wonder I am in pain.
Tomorrow I will find out how they will fix it.

I'm so glad Brooklynn liked all the stuff. That smile made it so worth it.

So you are back home, cooking for your boys....how thoughtful of you.

Well, yeah, a detached rib might tend to be a little painful!!!
How on earth did you do that???

She loved her stuff. She wanted to read the book and do the puzzle right away. Bella's little outfit was so cute, too!

Not a bit appetizing, I can assure you!
Not one bit.

You can try Snip Its and see what they say.
I don't know if it's just for children, or if they would take those of us who are just childish!

Love the pictures! Brooklynn did NOT look too happy about getting her hair cut! Is the Playhouse Disney CD good? We need some new music in the car.

Jill and I had both looked at the CD at separate times and thought about buying it, but were waiting for an occasion. Then we just decided that it would be nice for her to have something new on the way home.

Plus, it spared Jill from listening to Canadaaaaa! another thirty times. :rotfl:

I imagine after Brooklynn wants to listen to this CD fifty times in a row, Jill will be driven crazy by this one, as well. I hope Disney can make enough music and new CD's fast enough to keep up and keep her from going nuts, because Brooklynn loves the music going all the time. We have about every Disney CD that was ever made already!

Cute pictures! You are right about Bridge Street -- Connor walked up while I was looking at it and said, "World Showcase!"

Yes, it gave me the WS feeling. I felt like I was walking toward France over the bridge. and the water jets reminded me of sitting at Epcot watching Brook run around. Only she's big enough that she needs to stay fully clothed now. :)

Does Connor know about the store he owns?

More cute pics. I spy a Disney store bag...

Yes, but I am proud that I went in and out with nothing but pictures. I told Jill if I didn't stop spending money at home, there would not be any to go to WDW on!

Hello.:wave2: I'm not sure I'll ever be caught up, but I'm going to give it my best college try! What a beautiful family you have.:goodvibes

We're glad to have you along!

I promise. It will have an end.
It takes a while, but it will end.
And then another one begins!

Just for research purposes, how do you feel about snake skeletons?

What a fun day! Thanks for sharing... I wonder what was in the Disney bag?

Jill got a couple of cute tank tops for Brookie.
I'm not sure if she got anything else. I was watching Brooklynn so she could shop, since she hardly ever gets to go to the Disney Store any more. The one in Huntsville got axed, so she can't get her fix unless she comes to Opry Mills or Cool Springs.

Aw...Brookie's looking more like an experienced shopper every day! :cutie:

Oh, she had a cart full of stuff, alright!
She loves the round shelf with all of the five and six dollar stuff, like the cars and Buzz laser gun keychains and such. She had a basket full of plush toys, and she liked the hula hoop, too.

I hope she learns how to be a frugal shopper, too, or she's going to be in big trouble!

hey, guys! i wanted to let you know that brett's hearing has been postponed to next week. the judge is out of town and his attorney got it rescheduled to make sure he got the original judge he was assigned to. anyway, just wanted to let you know, memom, since you've been asking about it. ;)

i didn't peek, i swear! my guess is oklahoma.

congrats on the end of the school year, memom! :goodvibes

Thanks for keeping us updated. I'm glad Jordan is talking to Brett more now. It'll all work out in the end, and you'll get to spend lots of time with your sweet little niece! :cutie:

How come nobody guessed New Jersey???

Don't I seem like a Jersey girl?

The correct answer is Fl...

Oklahoma!

I am an Okie.

The kids call me a weirdo, but I'm not.
I'm an Okie. :)

It feels good to be out. I have two more days of freedom before it starts back on Monday, but summer school is nothing compared to the regular school year, and I have a lot of fun things to look forward to when it's over.

Does Connor know about the store he owns?

No, I don't think he does...do I know about the store he owns? I may not have had enough coffee yet this morning...;)

I'm all caught up - yay! Your girls' day out looked like a lot of fun! I also loved the Disney shopping pictures......as always.

Go look at post #1461 carefully. He has a store there.

Are you drinking coffee from a Disney mug? :)

Kids can be so distracting -- I totally missed Connor's the first time -- too cute!!! What kind of store is it?

I was drinking my coffee from a Disney mug -- Charles was, too. I even took a picture to show you -- Charles thought I was nuts when I pulled his from the dishwasher to take the photo.

001-6.jpg

I was drinking from the Hollywood Tower Hotel, and he used his Animal Kingdom one.
