A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

Yay, I'm all caught up on your TR!

As always, I'm enjoying all of your pictures. (Although I do have to admit to liking your shopping pics a little more than the snake photos!)

Brooklynn and Bella are as adorable as ever. :goodvibes

Lucky for you, I have many more shopping pictures than snake pictures!

I'm leaving in about two hours to see those adorable little girls. Sometimes, I even pay attention to my big girl, too!

I have some things to do around here, so I'm going to wait until Nashville traffic dies down and then head that way. :car:

Our plan is to go surprise Brooklynn at school and take her to Chuck E. Cheese. Hopefully, she will be okay with that. Sounds fun to me, but you never know how a two year old will react or what they will want. She might firmly say she can't leave because it's her turn to play in housekeeping or something like that! :)

I just have to stop here and say:

It feels so good not to have to go to school today!!!!
:dance3::yay::dance3:

So funny that you say this. I went to pick Brooklynn up early on Friday. A friend had a baby and we were going to the hospital to see her. I got there and told her it was time to go and she told me "No. Mrs. Wallace put "scumscream" on me so I can play outside." I tried to explain to her that we were going to see baby Piper at the hospital and then going to eat at Red Robin, but she was not having it. Her teacher finally told her if she went with me she would let her have a treasure from the treasure box. Brooklynn obliged picked out a pack of smarties and proceeded to tell me the rest of the afternoon how she had "scumscream" on so she could play outside but I said no!

scumscream....:rotfl2:

Jill,

You have two very cute little girls. Bella is growing fast. "Scumscream" is too funny.:rotfl2: I love to hear little ones talk. My littlest one is six now so he doesn't sound like a toddler anymore. However, the other day we were talking about sour kraut. Later he was playing with play-dough and fixed me some food. He brought it to me and said, "Here is your holy crap." I took me a minute to realize that he had made me some sour kraut.

Two months! I can't wait to hear all about it.

Yeah the toddler talk is quite humorous. This morning she informed me "I can't know how to find my socks." She is also getting to the age where some of her friends are saying things like "stupid" and "butt" She knows that we are not allowed to say those things so when she hears someone say it she always looks at me and says "We can't say butt or stupid (whichever applies). That is not very nice." Too which I always reply right. We were in the car a few days ago and John and I were talking about where we needed to go next and he said "But I need to go to Lowe's first." She flew all over that. "Mommy, Daddy said butt. We don't say that it is not very nice." So then I had to try and explain the difference between butt and but to my two year old.

Very funny.:rotfl: Brooklynn seems like so much fun. I miss that age. Time goes by way too fast. I hope you and Memom enjoy your time together.

I love the Brooklynn stories!!!

MeMom, have fun with all your girls today! I have today and tomorrow of post-planning and then I will be able to say, "It feels so good to not go to school today!" :goodvibes

I love the stories also. My boys are getting older and I miss the way they used to talk. Now it's all about bodily functions, gross stuff and bugs.

That is just too cute. Your girls are so adorable... Tell Brooklynn I said hello... and that I wear scumscream every day...

Brooklynn is too funny! I think "scumscream" might be my new favorite word!

Did you guys manage to talk her into going to Chuck E. Cheese? ;)

That is too cute! Your girls are adorable. Memom wanted me to post my thoughts on Puckett's in Franklin. We had a fabulous time. This was our 3rd time and I have never been disappointed in the food. The servers have so much fun with the kids. Abby and another girl got on the stage and they even brought out the microphones (not turned on) and turned on the spotlights for them. A really great family place. I got the famous cheeseburger and it was so yummy. I've also had the pulled pork with veggies (meat and three), and the homemade corncakes. It is a great place to go and then stroll around the shops. They have a great toy store on the square!

Well we had a blast today!!! This was the first time MeMom had been to Brooklynn's school. She got to see her artwork posted on the wall. Last week they were talking about insects and the kids got to design their own bugs. Here is Brooklynn's

We watched her playing on the playground through the window

She had no idea we were coming. We walked outside and she was talking to her teacher. Ms. Gamble said "Brooklynn, who is at the door?" Brooklynn looked up, got a huge grin on her face, and flew across the playground. Notice the plastic black beam behind her. She tripped over it on her way over and face planted into the mulch. It didn't slow her down though she jumped right up and finished her run.

So excited for a special surprise trip!

IMG_0018.jpg

She was dancing in the lobby as she told the director she was leaving early.

IMG_0019.jpg

This was Brooklynn's first time to visit Chuck E. Cheese so she had no idea what to think.

IMG_0025.jpg

While we waited for our pizza I let her take a few tokens to go play a game or two. (She was too busy watching the show to pay attention to the camera.)

IMG_0026.jpg

IMG_0028.jpg

She even got some secret mouse ears.

IMG_0031.jpg

Our pizza arrived. It looked good. It tasted not so good. Next time we will grab Happy Meals to eat in the car on the way to play at Chuck E. Cheese.

IMG_0032.jpg

We had to bribe Brooklynn to eat her pizza. One bite for one token. She would go play a game come back with her tickets, eat another bite and say "Coin please." After MeMom finished her pizza she took some tokens and followed Brooklynn around while I sat at the table with Bella and our stuff and watched.

IMG_0033.jpg

Brooklynn couldn't get the basketball over the glass. The second one bounced off and her in the head.

IMG_0034.jpg

Such concentration

IMG_0041.jpg

Bella woke up to watch the fun

IMG_0048.jpg

THey took a picture together

IMG_0052.jpg

Then I took them and did a sketch drawing of the 3 of us.

More rides and games

IMG_0072.jpg

We had several tokens left and it was getting time to go so I let Brooklynn play one of those games where you put the token in and where it lands determines how many tickets you get. She loved just sticking the token in and watching 1 ticket pop out (you always got 1 ticket for 1 token no matter what) She was happily putting her tokens in when she hit the jackpot and perfectly landed on the 50 ticket spot!

:lmao: at Brooklynn, between scumscream and buts, I don't know how you keep a straight face when talking to her!

It looks like Chuck E Cheese was a hit! My kids love the pizza there, Ryan and I always find somewhere else to have dinner instead. ;)

We fed our 278 tickets to the muncher and got our receipt to take the counter.

IMG_0081.jpg

Brooklynn looked at the assorted trinkets and candy

IMG_0082.jpg

before settling on...

IMG_0085.jpg

That's right folks - a princess crown, a piece of Laffy Taffy, and a giant plastic bug!

We headed out and MeMom saw a sign for POP so we had to have a picture.

IMG_0086.jpg

We decided to go to Bridge Street and let Brooklynn play in the water for a little while.

IMG_0087.jpg

IMG_0102.jpg

IMG_0105.jpg

Bella snoozed for a little while in her carrier.

IMG_0104.jpg

We changed Brooklynn into dry clothes and headed to get some ice cream. We stopped to watch a paddle boat on the water.

IMG_0109.jpg

Halfway to the ice cream store Brooklynn's strap pops on her shoe for the 20th time. For the 20th time she stops to fix it and I point out that if she wore them on the correct feet they wouldn't do that. It was this time that she decided to sit right there and switch her shoes.

IMG_0110.jpg

She was trying to get her other shoe off and I couldn't lean down to help her so I tried to use my foot. MeMom says I was trying to step on her.

IMG_0111.jpg

We finally got to Maggie Moo's where Brooklynn chose blue ice cream and proceeded to get her hair, dress, shoe, face, neck, chair and the surrounding floor all tinted a lovely shade of smurf!

IMG_0115.jpg

She fell asleep on the way home and is still sleeping. When she wakes up she has a box of goodies to get into from our friend CanadianWDWFan. We will put those pictures up later tonight.

It looks like you had a fun filled day with MeMom and the girls! It's amazing how empty Chuck E Cheese is during the week! I LOVE blue ice cream!

So cute so fun! Thanks for sharing your day... and the scumscream story, sounds familar to some conversations we have had at our house.

What a fun day! Love the cute pics of the girls. Jill, you are mighty skinny for just having a baby! Have a fun visit!!

What a great day! I love the picture where Brooklyn is playing in the fountain and the lady in the blue shirt is watching her and smiling. The kid in the stroller is looking at her with a wistful "I wanna play in the water too" look.

Looks like you had Chucky Cheese all to yourself. Seems like you all had a great time.
