A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

Oooh that pic of EE merchandise reminds me of this thing I saw in the EE gift shop..it says "My next boyfriend is a Yeti" or something like that.

Aw the girls are so photogenic (I know I probably spelled that wrong but you know what I mean!)

Morning, I'm still home......:headache::sick::scared::upsidedow.....I will never be so glad when I finally can return to work.

Thanks BrooklynnsMommy for the sweet pics of your beauties. They both are changing and growing. So cute.

So if MeMom goes for a visit tomorrow, that means Brooklynn will get my package. I can't wait for her to open it. :)

After seeing the Mickey icecream sign, I pictured my family taking a break from the parks and sitting on a bench somewhere enjoying the treats.
Lexi trying to eat hers before it melts....:mickeybar

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!

Do I smell BBQ cooking in Tennessee.......:goodvibes

Yep on the package - it is ready to go!

Nope on the barbeque. Not at my house, anyway. We actually have been eatin leftover barbeque for a couple of days from Bar-B-Cutie. The school ordered it for our teacher lunch, and at the end of the day on Friday, he told all the teachers that were still there to come and take it, so we all got a little. Today we ate hamburgers.

I'm sure you will be ready to get back into society. I hate being sick and being stuck inside for more than a couple of days. Are you feeling somewhat better, or are you still pretty sick?

Oh yes, runny ice cream pictures are sweet ones!

Yummmm a Mickey bar is one delicious treat! I wish I could get one right about now. :) Except where can you get a half gallon of ice cream for $2.75? Here is $5.99 for a half gallon!!

What cuteeeeee pictures of those precious little girls too! I love seeing pictures of them! :cutie:

Things are cheaper in the south, friend! The good ice cream may not be $2.75, but for not much more you can get the good stuff.

I love seeing pictures of them, too! I hate not seeing them for over a week!

Happy Memorial Day, MeMom, Jill, and the gang! Love the red, white, and blue photos from Disney!!!

I think a picture like the one you described, MeMom, would be perfect while we are waiting on Illuminations! :thumbsup2

You guys are going to have so much fun! Be sure to act just crazy :teeth::jumping3::crazy2: enough to keep others from getting too close to you so you can have plenty of space to spread out and be comfortable for Illuminations viewing.

Me too, Me too! Jackie, do I need to pick up a bag for you?

Two bags, two bars. It'll be perfect!
My third graders would call you twinsies. :):)

Great TR and pics!

Thank you, and welcome aboard! Make yourself at home and join in the fun!
Be sure to check out the pre-trip reports of several members of our group who are on their way soon!

I know what you mean.
You mean they're purty, right? :cutie::cutie:

I have only Fastpassed Everest, so I have to make a point to go all through the queue and gift shop for pictures. I think I'll just ask people if I can go in front of them to take pictures, as I don't have plans to ride it again.

You think they would believe it and let me? I am telling the truth!

I just realized a little bit ago that two months from right now we'll be in Magic Kingdom watching the parade and getting ready to go eat with our friends Tigger :tigger: and Pooh pooh:!
And Piglet (no smilie for him) and my pal, Eeyore :eeyore:.

Yay, us!
:cheer2:

Of course they're purty! :goodvibes Maybe Brookie and my little guy could date.

Um.....MeMom, I hate to say this but I don't think they'd believe you! :flower3: With all the crazy people nowadays that ruin everything, of course there's always line cutters and rude people at WDW that it's hard to believe there's actually nice and sincere people there. Like you! You aren't trying to cut in line to get closer to the ride..You just want pictures!

Ahhhh I can't believe how close your trip is too!

I added a night to our trip....:woohoo: So we will be there for 9 nights now! :woohoo:

How awesome to have a 9th night! I am incredibly jealous!! That means more free dining right? Yum! popcorn::

Hello! I have been lurking and reading about everybody's trip and pretrip reports then I realized I need a little help. My family and I are going to Disney in two weeks. We have most of our dinner reservatins made through a family friend who will also be there but she has left 2 days open for us to eat where ever we wanted to as a family. I can't decide where to go. Here is what we have so far:

6/9 Liberty Tree 4:20
6/10 LeCellar 1:10
6/11 Chef Mickey 10:00 (going to the water park and DTD this day. we only have 8 day park hopper tickets so we are not doing the parks on this day)
6/12 Brown Derby 4:30
6/13 OPEN
6/14 OPEN
6/15 Whispering Canyon 7:30
6/16 Prime Time 4:00
6/17 OPEN
6/18 going home

Where ever we eat at the plan is to go to that park. I am trying not to hop all over the place. We don't have any dinner reservations for Animal Kingdom and we could do Magic Kingdom again. I know we have 3 open days but we are only going to eat out on 2. For the other one we will just eat whatever floats our boat. So any help will be GREATLY appreciated. THANKS!!!

What are the ages of the kids? How many times have you been to Disney World? Are you willing to go for some good counter services (not burgers) if there are no ADRs available at this late date? Would you consider doing a park for the day, stopping at a resort to eat, and then calling it an early night in just to enjoy your resort? What about options in Downtown Disney? What resort are you staying at?

Knowing some of these things will help us brainstorm a little better, and we'll be glad to give you some ideas. :)

My kids are 12 & 6. They have never been to Disney and my husband and I have only been once 22 years ago. So you could call this our first time as well since SO much has changed since we have last been there. Counter service will be just as fine as would going to a resort. We are staying at Old Key West so DTD is close by...from what I hear. I look at the menus and I just can't decide. My husband says he doesn't care as long as the kids will eat something there. He'll eat anything anywhere.

THANKS again!!

Okay we are officially telepathetic! When I read this I had to go back and look at the time you posted. At the exact same time (seriously like within a minute or so) I looked at Brooklynn and said you know where we will be in exactly two months. She of course replied "Disney World" I said "yep. We will be sitting on Main Street watching the parade and then headed to Crystal Palace to eat with Pooh and the Gang!" It is scary how we share a Disney brain!

Jill, I love the new pics of the sweet babies!!!!!!!!!

Mmm, that mickey bar sure looks good MeMom!!! :thumbsup2

You are going to love, love, love Old Key West, try to request a room near the General Store. We just stayed there in March, it's such a easy going resort. You can take the boat over to DTD or see about eating at Olivia's right there at OKW!
I've got some great resort pics on my thread if you are interested in taking a peek........

If you are thinking of Magic Kingdom, I'd try for a spot at Crystal Palace or Tony's. Crystal Palace is wonderful, and although some people don't like it, we all liked Tony's.

In Epcot, it just depends on what your tastes are. There are counter services for Japan and Mexico that you might like. Sunshine Seasons would be my choice, because the rotisserie chicken dinners are sooo good!

At Hollywood Studios, try Sci Fi for the kids. If you can't get a table service, Toy Story Pizza Planet will give you pizza, salad, and plenty of video games for the kids!

In Animal Kingdom, you might try the new Picnic in the Park deal they have going on. Tusker House would need a reservation, but Flame Tree is delicious and is just counter service.

Are you familiar with allears.net? They have the menus listed, along with the prices, so that might help you as much as anything.

If you decide to go Downtown, you can't go wrong with Earl of Sandwich. :thumbsup2

You could try for Kona or 'Ohana at the Polyesian, too.

I don't know if any of that helps, but if you have more questions, feel free to ask. There are so many great places to eat, it's hard to narrow them down or know where you might like to go on a given day. I think that menu chart will help you a lot, though. If you need more details on getting to it, let us know.

Thanks moparop & megablocks for sharing in my joy! :goodvibes

I have extra ADR's from the other day and I am having trouble deciding which to cancel, at least I can keep one more. ;)

I thought I was feeling better, but I'm not sure now. :confused3
I'm soo over this whatever it is....:headache:

MeMom have a wonderful time with your family!
I'm sure there will be a tea party, character sightings, books and plenty of hugs and kisses. :cloud9:

Great TR! Loving all the AK pics! Teppan Edo looks so yummy. The girls are adorable!

Reason # 190804742 why I should move down South.

Come on down. You got any Daisy Dukes?

Of course they're purty! :goodvibes Maybe Brookie and my little guy could date.

Maybe the kids will have a Dis meet someday at the kiddie pool! :)

Yeah, I'll probably just have to pick a time when the line isn't long, take pictures, and then exit.

Hooray for an extra night!

Good luck with working tomorrow. You may get tired real easily after so much time down.

I hope you are feeling better soon!!

I would like to add another night, but I can't. I have to get back to s-c-h-o-o-l. Ssshhh, don't say it out loud.

Congrats on your last day of school! Now you can enjoy summer and your gkids!

I'm going to start on enjoying the grandbabies first thing tomorrow!

I'm jealous...but that's awesome! :woohoo: Good for you!

MeMom, I hope you had a great day with your girls today. I'm looking forward to pictures!

I'm going tomorrow, and there will probably be pictures. ;)

I think we're just pathetic, really.

And scary.

Jill, I love the new pics of the sweet babies!!!!!!!!!

Mmm, that mickey bar sure looks good MeMom!!! :thumbsup2

It did look good, but I had opted for a frozen lemonade earlier, so I didn't get one. I'm sure I'll share one with Brooklynn this summer.

See, we have lots of helpful people around here!

Old Key West is beautiful!

We're planning to go to Chuck E. Cheese, so we'll see what she thinks about him. I guess we'll pretend it's Bear Country Jamboree. :rotfl:

It must be such agony to decide which one of those good meals to drop.

Great TR! Loving all the AK pics! Teppan Edo looks so yummy. The girls are adorable!

Thanks for joining us!

I tend to get a little snap happy in Animal Kingdom.

Okay, everywhere.
