Not the whole summer. I get off from June 12-28 for a family trip to Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Then back to work until August 12-16. Teachers return back to school on August 17 (my birthday) to set up rooms. Since, myself and another teacher have the most experience at our school our principal has asked us to work through the summer to assist in ordering new furniture, curriculum, and assist him with interviewing new staff. I work at a Charter school and our numbers for next year have doubled. We have to hire at least 12 new teachers. The week of my August Trip, I will be training all those new teachers in the program that we use at our school. The training is three days long, so I will be pretty busy this summer.
Where in TN are you going? East Tennessee has some fun things to do. I haven't been there in a long while, though. When I have any money, I find myself going south.
I had to take a nap when I got home from Science Olympiad, too, so I understand how Brooklyn felt.
Looking forward to Brooklyn opening the box.
Sounds like we are having the exact same kind of weather today!
Beach Party Wednesday sounds like fun -- actually anything that gets us one day closer to Friday sounds like fun!
The beach party will be fun. Most of these kids will never make it to the beach, so I'm bringing sand, shells, and water to them.
I think I'm going to AL next week for a couple of days, or Jill is coming here, so Brooklynn will get her goodies then.
Food, snakes... I'm good.
It is the bubbles in the Aero bar that make it interesting.
I've never had a candy bar shred into tiny pieces when I opened it.
Now I have.
I'm out of snake pictures, but I'm going back sssssoon.
Morning
MeMom.
Wow,
Megablocks was up really early, I was sleeping like a baby at that time.
Okay, we have to talk....the snake thing is getting out of hand. Now I am faced with a close up pic.....I may have to find a new TR if this keeps up....I thought we were friends....
declansdad I couldn't send the real poutine (too messy), so I sent a packet mix for the gravy part. It has a pic of poutine on it so she could see what we talk about. I know she has no intention of eating it, I was just looking for a laugh.
I just may have to go to the Chip wagon today and have one with a POGO, just cause I can. Yummy!
(for our American friends a POGO is like a corn dog only better.)
I'm off tomorrow because it's our Victoria Day! Yippee! Happy Bday for our Queen!
They actually call it "twofour weekend" here. Refers to a 24 case of beer, I think. Maybe
declansdad can explain better.
I'm out of snake pictures, so you're safe for a while.
(I really wanted to ssssay
sssssafe.
Okay, I'm really done now.
I might be willing to try a POGO.
What's it made of?
OMG MeMom you guys go back to school on the 10th?! Of August?! We don't start for at least another month up here so I guess that makes up for the month you end early. My birthday is August 4th and I can't imagine having had to go right back to school after it! It's so hot down there in the summer so wouldn't it make sense to just hold the students longer when its cooler and then them be home the month of August when its sweltering?
Yes, it would make sense, but school boards around here sometimes don't seem to have to much of that. Last year or the year before, I can't remember, we had to take two half days off right away because of 100 degree heat. Kids were getting sick on the buses. After Labor Day sounds good to me, along with free dining in Disney World, which usually happens in August, doesn't it?
I thought that's what it might have been, a gravy mix.
I think you explained the twofour weekend quite well.
If I'm ever never doing it in Canada, I'll try the real stuff.
My 2-4 would have to be root beer.
That is one thing my husband MUST always get when we go to Canada is the Aero bar...they are good! WHat is poutine:confused3
I'm not sure you wanna know.
Hope you had a good weekend Memom! Did you hear Jill is coming to my area in a couple of weeks...too bad I won;t be home as my best friend is getting married and we are having her bacholerette party that weekend. It really is a small world afterall!
Jill comes to town and you leave. Jill, what do you think of that???
Shall we all sing it together?
It's a world of laughter,
a world of tears...
k_reile Poutine is Fries + Gravy + cheese curds. Delicious!!!
Try it nexy time you are here in Canada.
Aaaaaggghhh! She said it again!

Just funnin' with ya! I'm sure it's delicious.
Much like our hog jowls and collard greens. Not.
ok...maybe not! I've never understood the fries and gravy thing..but then again I like my fries plain!
Some people eat mayonnaise on their fries. That sounds yucky, too.
Ketchup for me. Or catsup, whichever you prefer.
I am from Maine and my dh is from Montreal. I thought that poutine sounded gross but then he convinced me to try it. It really isn't that bad, you put gravy on your mashed potatoes. You really should try it once. My favorite are the mint aero bars. I liked the orange ones too but the last time I was in Canada I couldn't find any. Every time my inlaws come to visit us I have them bring Cofee Crisp, Cheery Blossoms, and Aero Bars.
The orange chocolate sounds good to me. There's a coffee crisp in this treat box. I'll let some of the others help eat that. I want a bite, but I'll share with the rest of them, too.
Can you get those candy bars at world showcase?
That's a good question. We'll have to check that out this summer. Japan has all kinds of candy, I know, so Canada might have some.
Love it!
Hey, if you plan another Canada World Showcase party you have an appetizer!
We just need to have a World Showcase party and let everyone bring their favorite regional dishes.
You guys do like possum, don't you?
Memom, I would love to share some pictures of my snakes, but I have no idea how to do that.
I only know how to do photobucket. It's free, if you want to set up an account.
Well, it's free until you put 99,000 pictures on it. Then you have to upgrades and pay about $4.00 a month.
Ahhh, mint Aero is perfection. The orange Aero ones were a limitted edition.
I wish I could send Canadian chocolate bars to all my DIS friends...if only I could make sure they wouldn't melt.
I really missed our chocolate when I moved down south, my DMom would always send me care packages. It reminded me of home.
We have good cheese too!
It's funny when I go to the States I have my favorites there too.
Whatchamacalit! chocolate bars are amazing!
I love Hawiian Punch, Cherry Pepsi, Sierra Mist and Mountain Dew Code Red.
Sour Cream & Bacon chips. Yummy!
Airheads...Lemon Heads candy....I could go on but I won't.
I am more envious of you all having Chick-Fil-A, Sonics and Cracker Barrel. Oh yeah, and most of all WDW!!!
All this talk about food is getting me hungry.
Yesterday was a sucessful shopping trip to the USA. We got our "favorites" and some new clothes. I picked up some new handbags (I truely didn't need) :
Lunch was at Wendy's, nothin fancy.
We had to get a trip in before the new law goes into effect on June 1st. Canadians will have to show a passport or an Enhanced driver's liscence to go into the States.
We have apt's for the new licences at the end of the month. My kids will need the passports.
Have a Magical Day!
Cracker Barrel is something I am glad we have. I hardly ever go, but it's nice to be able to when Jill is up here.

I'm ready for some shopping pictures.
The bags that seem to be very popular.
Photobucket is being crazy, so I'll stop for now and finish later.
