A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

Your party should be in full swing by now! I bet your having a blast with your girls and everyone else! Hope the rain has held off for you! :flower3:

And if I turn around at any point during the trip and see you on your knees in the middle of a street taking a picture of an interesting lampost, trashcan, or door handle these folks are going to find out about it reeeeeeal quick! :upsidedow

:rotfl: This made me think of a sign my Mom gave me a few years ago. It says "mirror mirror on the wall, I am my mother after all"

Have fun at your Disney party today! It is supposed to storm all day here, so I will need photos of the party later on to cheer me up!

We'll have pictures up after while. Brooklynn is sleeping and Bella is watching TV with Trent, so Jill and John have run up to Kohl's for a minute. We'll get pictures up when she gets back.

The party plan sounds great. You are so creative. I hope that you have great weather and a wonderful time. Looking forward to seeing the pictures.

We had a lot of fun fixing it up, and even the adults thought it was fun.

Have fun at your Disney Party!

And yes, us Northerners do put up Shirt & Shoes Required signs up. :thumbsup2

We sure did.
Okay, so it's not just hillbillies that try to go shirtless into stores.
Good to know.

Yes us northerners do have signs liks that. I grew up in Maine so that is pretty far north.

Here is some pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: for some sunshine for your party. Looking forward to the report about your Disney Day party.

We didn't exactly get sunshine, but the rain held off. We were able to have the safari outside.

Memom and Jill and family...have fun at your disney party! I wished I lived closer to you...that sounds so fun! I will pray for the rain clouds to come to my house so my husband doesn't have to go to his race tonight!;)

You sure would have been welcome to come! Caleb would have fit right in with all those boys. They had a ball!

We even have those shoes and shirts signs way up here :rotfl2:

Have fun at your party.

But I bet your signs have a neat maple leaf carved into them, huh?

We did have fun. We'll show you in a little bit.

Hope you have a great party!!!! :)

Thanks. Check back later for pictures.

Hope you have a great party everything sounds like its going to be fun!!

It was!

Have a great party. I am crossing my fingers and toes... in Green Hills no rain and it is 9:53, so it looks like the rain is going to stay away for your party. Yippee:cool1::cool1:

No rain here either, so we were very happy.

Sending SUNNY thoughts and pixiedust:.

Thanks for the good thoughts. They were good enough to keep the rain away, even if Mr. Sun was covered by a lot of clouds.

Your party should be in full swing by now! I bet your having a blast with your girls and everyone else! Hope the rain has held off for you! :flower3:

We played and laughed and danced and ate and had a good time!

Wow, that party sounds like a lot of fun! Take pictures so we can see!

You know we did!

I tried to send our sunshine a little further south. Did it work?

Almost. Between you and the others, it was enough to get us through.

Your party sounds amazing! Can't wait to hear all about it and of course see pictures! popcorn::

With six little kids and a new baby, assorted parents and grandparents, one aunt and one uncle and our friend, Jarvis, who I guess I'm about to adopt as another son, it was a busy place. If Drew and his crew had been here, it would have been crazy, but he's out of town.

:rotfl: This made me think of a sign my Mom gave me a few years ago. It says "mirror mirror on the wall, I am my mother after all"

Jill knows she is much like me, and it scares her. I don't think she has a chance to be normal. :sad2:

*********************************

I have to tell you about a special surprise I got this morning. On the front porch, there was a package. Trent went around and got it (we're back door people, and never use the front door) and brought it to me. It was from Jim Shore. You all know what a great guy our Dis friend, Scott (scottny) is. right? Well, he's been using some of my pictures for things he's been doing, and with the thought that he needed to repay me (which he did not) he said he was sending me something. I opened the package and was very excited to see a very cute little Jim Shore Eeyore! How thoughtful is that? He knew I am an Eeyore fan, so that's how he wanted to thank me. It was totally not necessary, as I told him, because I love sharing my pictures, but of course I LOVE it. It has already become treasured member of my Eeyore family. As a matter of fact, he was happy to find out that he arrived on party day! He actually might have arrived yesterday and camped out on the porch, but he was found today anyway. :eeyore:

Thanks, Scott! I'm going to e-mail you, too, so wherever you get the message first - THANKS for your thoughtfulness!

Party news and pictures coming up tonight. I'll brief you on the basics now, though.

The theme was A Very Disney Day, and it was designed to bring Disney World home, since Brooklynn wasn't able to go in March.

It started out with all the kids on a Disney bus going to Magic Kingdom. In Magic Kingdom, the first 'ride' was Dumbo. After that, they enjoyed a Pirates activity.

Then it was on to Epcot, where as everyone knows, there is one very important ride, according to Brooklynn.
Nemo! So, we had a Nemo game.

After that, we headed to Hollywood Studios. Since we were there at rope drop, everyone got to do Toy Story Mania with no lines.

Last, the kids donned their safari hats and made their way to Animal Kingdom and Kilimanjaro, where they were delighted to see many wild animals.

Having done all four parks, they knew that it was time to eat!
Much food was consumed, and there were crumbs and spills that didn't bother any of us. We knew that Ben, the vacuum cleaner dog would be released later and would take care of the crumbs. :)

We enjoyed wonderful company, laughed a lot, ate a lot, and then made plans for all children to have Disney worthy afternoon naps.

After everyone left, Jill, the girls, and I went over to Opry Mills to meet up with Erica. She met us at the Disney Store, and we walked around the mall for a little bit. I am happy to report that the hippo is back!

Anyway, we'll get to those pictures in a bit and share much more of the fun with you. I hope you are all having a great Saturday at your house, too!

That sounds like a wonderful party! So much forethought and fun into each stop!

I can't wait for the photos!

can't wait to hear about your day. hope you guys had a blast! we have out-of-town company here right now so i can't dis long but just thought i would check in. be back later to read all about it!

Okay, so every trip to a Disney park, for us anyway, begins with a ride on a Disney bus.

disney_party16.jpg

As the kids gathered up at the windows to peek out, Brooklynn leaned a little too far forward, and the bus wrecked!

disney_party17.jpg

What had taken several hours to copy, color, and cut had been destroyed in about thirteen seconds! We all cracked up and then proceeded to tape the bus back together long enough for a few pictures.

Upon their arrival at Magic Kingdom, the kids headed for Dumbo.

disney_party13.jpg

This was a cakewalk-type game, and since they were all under four, when the music stopped, we just called a name and said that child won and everybody clapped.

The prizes for this game were sticker books and candy from Goofy's Candy Company.

Then they went to Pirates of the Caribbean, where they dug through the sand for gold.

disney_party12.jpg

Kemper was happy to be the first to find some treasure.

disney_party26.jpg

Prizes here were pirate eye patches and earrings, pirate bowls, and cute little wallets.

Leaving Magic Kingdom, the boys and girl, which I guess we could call Brooklynn and the Boyz if they ever start a rock band, went to Epcot to find Nemo.

disney_party10.jpg

All they had to do was pick up a cup and find Nemo. One found him on the first try. Some found him on the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th.

Parker just picked up the big plush Nemo and looked at us like we were stupid. Why were we trying to find Nemo? He was right there!

disney_party30.jpg

disney_party31.jpg

Nemo prizes were Nemo snacks and Nemo balloons.

At Hollywood Studios, they played Toy Story Midway Mania, which consisted of throwing two balls into a bucket and then zapping Zurg with a laser gun. They loved this game.

Prizes here were Cars cups, Wall-E raisins, Toy Story washcloths, and t-shirts.

Last, they put on their safari hats and went out to seek wild animals.

disney_party45.jpg

Trent and Jarvis were in charge of putting the animals out, and they were told to pretty much just throw them out in the yard so they could easily see them.

They didn't listen.
Trent had a better plan.
He always does.

When we got outside,
we found elephants in swings and trees and a giraffe on the barn roof.

disney_party48.jpg

Parker quietly stalked a lion.

disney_party53.jpg

Prizes for capturing animals included keeping the safari hats and animals, animal crackers, Chip and Dale pretzels, and official Animal Kingdom binoculars.

Note that Heather has stolen her child's binoculars.

Then came food.

More to come.

Oh my gosh MeMom! What a fun party, such cute games! I need to remember all of this for Harper when she gets a little older!

oh no! A bus crash! Hope you kids were wearing your seat belts! :lmao: Looks like a fun party so far. Hey they have those cookies at my walmart too (was just there this evening and saw them and I resisted ;)) Speaking of said walmart trip is where I learned that you cannot leave the house without a diaper bag (quick trip) and Caleb threw up everywhere!:scared1: So had to buy wipes to clean him up...as I was checking out realized he got my purse too! Course after he was done he was smiling from ear to ear and I told him that "mommy did not find him funny!" :lmao: I told my mom...I learned my lesson...even for short trips...never leave without the diaper bag when you got a kid who can;t keep down his food! :headache:

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your day!

Our kids love mandarin oranges.

disney_party3.jpg

Jill was satisfied with the food,

disney_party61.jpg

but Eeyore had a little different opinion.

disney_party60.jpg

My newest Eeyore was happy that he got here in time for the party.

It was a fun time. I get to see the cousins at church briefly, but we rarely get together. It's always fun when we do, and it's fun to watch our kid's kids grow and spend time together.

By the way, I did vacuum before the party, but you can't tell it in those pictures. With six little kids and a few clumsy adults, it got bad pretty quickly!

After the party, we went to the mall to meet Erica. I'll put those pictures up in the morning. I'm ready for bed tonight!
