A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

Priceless! I love it.

She's a bit of a character!

That is too funny. I live close to the zoo and my DD3 goes all the time. She may have been there that day. They usually go 2 times a week to play on that playground. My mother-in-law watches her and we have passes. I have loved watching the relationship between you and your Mom, as well as your family. Your Brooklyn is so much like my Abby. A lot of the same personality. I love how you all share the love of Disney. I probably couldn't get my Mom to Disney (hates crowds, heat, etc, but I know she would love to see our DD down there). She went with my older sister's family and myself before I was married and it was an adventure to say the least.

You should come out to meet us at the hippo at Rainforest in Opry Mills on June 20th!

When Jill was about Brooklynn's age, she used to put her little hands on my face and say, "We are prens (friends), Mommy."
With the exception of a day or two when she was ages 15-17, we have indeed been friends. :goodvibes

I love the zoo pictures, especially the leopard and the merry-go-round one! Too funny about Brooklynn leaving home! Is there a kid alive who hasn't done that at least once?!?

Great news memom about probably getting to teach 2nd grade next year. Hope it works out for you!

I left Florida once headed for Tennessee. I don't remember why. I made it to the corner, but it was pretty dark, so I thought I better go on another day.

I hope I get back to more enjoyment in my teaching next year. It'll be good for me and for the kids.

Awesome, MeMom, about the move!

Great zoo pics, Jill! That woman with Brooklyn looks vaguely familiar!

Brooklyn's choice of items to take to Tennessee made me laugh out loud!!!

Maybe Jill will become the new family photographer. :)

I see a hidden MeMom but she's not so hidden this time! LOL! Love it. That leopard picture is sooo neat. He's laying on his arms, contemplating something. Or maybe just enjoying the weather. Little Bella's head looks so tiny in her big hat. What a doll!

He's probably thanking his lucky stars that he's behind glass so that the sea of faces jumping up and down and acting like lunatics cannot get near him.

LOL! Too cute!

Memom: I somehow missed your first post about possibly getting to move to 1st or 2nd grade! Thats great! My first grade teachers was one of my favorite teachers. Now my 2nd grade teacher--not so much. She was fun at the time because she let us play games all day long (she was a last minute replacement teacher to replace the teacher who was fired for being abusive to kids) well it was great to get to play games all day long until the school year was over and my whole class had to go to summer school for the whole summer! Lets just say we were'nt to happy then and she was fired! Don't think she ever taught again and the abusive teacher works at a fast food resturant! Guess they got what was coming to them!

I hope I create some kind of spark in them for learning new things and investigating those things futher. I also try to give them good organizational skills that will help them throughout all their future school days.

I am teaching summer school, but I tried not to have my whole class end up there!

:cool1: :thumbsup2 ;) :) :lovestruc :cutie:  :wizard:  :cloud9: :woohoo:  :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: :flower3: Congrats on your VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY good news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel relieved for you!!!!! No one can really imagine what good news that is unless they've been there. I know you feel like a new woman!!!!!

You are exactly right. I already feel a big burden lifted.

MeMom--great news about the teaching move!!
jill--your girls are just soo cute!
Both, have a fantastically fun weekend together:goodvibes

We will. I'm hoping the weather gets a little better.

Too cute!!

I also have to say the dog/older sibling game waking the little one is a common theme at our house. Soon enough, You'll be the one crying as both Brooklynn and Bella get the dog going!

Poor Ben. He just lets Brooklynn get away with all kind of stuff, and when he's had enough, he's kind but firm in letting her know it.

What kind of camera was it? Your pictures are really nice!

I'll tell her to come and tell you the specifics when she gets here.

Aw, that looks like so much fun!

I think it looks like that ostrich is eating my hair.

Congrats MeMom on the classroom move. Great zoo pics. Have a fun weekend!

Thanks. I'm pretty happy right now.
We will have a fun weekend!

I am VERY happy for you!!
 <~~~~Happy dance from me.

Well that answers my stroller question! :thumbsup2

I don't know what Mel want's to do but we have looked at the Double Umbrella strollers. I think it would be great to have something light and something that reclines if they are napping. They will be 4yrs and 11mo at the time so I think it would be nice to have a side by side

Those are my FAVORITE!!!

:rotfl: You know I would pick her up if I saw her!!

I didn't go to Franklin today as planned but if I had I would have taken her shopping at the Disney store and then brought her to you

Jill you are cracking me up!! :rotfl2:

Brooklynn I hope you survive your day today :flower3: and have a wonderful time at your MeMom's this weekend.

Hope I get to see you guys but I think tomorrow is supposed to be about as nice as today was, so we might all want to stay in. You guys just let me know....I'm up for whatever :thumbsup2

Oh good, another Disney outfit!

She sounded very pitiful on the phone when she was showing me her fingers.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Maybe there will bemore MeMom pics.

Oh, man! I didn't think of that.
Maybe I can arrange to accidentally spill something on that awesome new camera tomorrow.

Is the Hippo back? We were there a few weeks ago and it was gone. Our DD was sad. Are you all have a Dis meet at the Hippo. We may have to meet you all out there. We could all raid the Disney Store:cool1:

Forgot to add... I hit the same stuff when I was 15-17, too. Thank goodness I made it through all in tact - haha. I ended up closer to my sisters and Mom after I worked off a little rebellion. My Mom doesn't thank me for the gray hair I gave her - just kidding. We were in GA so went to Disney a few times growing up. Such happy memories. My goal is to talk my Mom into going with us in 2010. I know she would - I just need to make the plans. Of course, being a disser, I love to plan. Have a great weekend!

Enjoy your Disney party.... and hope that Brooklynn decided to stay with her mom and sister! Emily is just leaving the house lately... but is not headed to another state, or at least does not admit to that.

Glad you got to move down MeMom... I am sure you already feel better!

Congrats on the move down, MeMom! :goodvibes

That sounds kind of funny, doesn't it - being happy for a step down???

I was out there last week, and I went into RFC looking for some endnagered animal cards, but didn't even stop to look at the hippo.
There were a bunch of people around there, but I didn't even focus on the hippo.

I hope he's just out for a good cleaning.
It's going to be kind of hard to have a hippo meet with no hippo! :)

I was in Georgia a couple of times, too. My dad was stationed at Robins AFB two times.

Yep, just make the plans. Your mom will surely love being with her family in Disney World!

I am happy to report that Brooklynn stayed with her family and all of them arrived here safely and fully-clothed just a little while ago. We're all going to bed so we can have a fun day tomorrow.

Brooklynn is too cute packing up her things to go to Tennessee!

I'm envious of your Disney party. Maybe I'll pack up my own backpack and head on down to Tennessee. I will be certain to wear more than Sleeping Beauty underwear though!

MeMom, congrats on the grade level move, I totally understand about the test pressure, I'm moving down to 2nd from 4th next year......

We'd be more than happy to have you, and yes, shirts are required.
Shoes - now that one is optional, but shirts, yes. :)

Have northerners ever even had the need to put a Shirts and Shoes Required sign on an establishment, or is that just a southern redneck thing?

Do you guys not test at 2nd grade level either?
We used to test all the way down to first, but a few years ago they decided to just start at 3rd. The 1st and 2nd grade teachers could be heard singing and dancing all over our county!

Maybe we could think about our two second grade classes writing pen pal letters after we get settled in. Maybe we could do it toward the beginning of school, near Christmas, and then in the spring and at the end of school. Four times would be good writing practice but not too much obligation of time, I think. Think about it, and let me know if you'd be interested.

**********************************

I am sitting here listening to the thunder roll in the sky. I hope it is going to do what it has to do now and then clear off later. We just need ten minutes out of our two hours party time to be able to go out and do our safari, so keep your fingers crossed. We'll just give Fastpasses, and whenever it stops raining in the midst of the party, that's when they'll come due! :)

I've got to:

-get the cookies laid out on a plate and cover them up
-take the turkey out of the freezer
-put towels in the washing machine
-roll my hair, for what little good that does
-put the Disney bus together
-vacuum the den
-put the sand in the Pirates area
-move the Nemo game over in front of the laundry room, but I can't do that until the aforementioned washing towels thing
-put the drinks in the refrigerator
-go put batteries in Zurg so that he can come to life and make crazy sounds when the kids laser him after while

That's all I can think of right now. I'm sure I'll add a dozen things to that list in a short time.

Have a Super Saturday, everyone!
If you have sunshine, could you please reach up into the air and slide it down our way, just for a little while?
From about 10:30-12:30? Then you can have it back. :sunny:

Have fun at your Disney party today! It is supposed to storm all day here, so I will need photos of the party later on to cheer me up!

The party plan sounds great. You are so creative. I hope that you have great weather and a wonderful time. Looking forward to seeing the pictures.

Have fun at your Disney Party!

And yes, us Northerners do put up Shirt & Shoes Required signs up. :thumbsup2

Have northerners ever even had the need to put a Shirts and Shoes Required sign on an establishment, or is that just a southern redneck thing?

Yes us northerners do have signs liks that. I grew up in Maine so that is pretty far north.

Here is some pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: for some sunshine for your party. Looking forward to the report about your Disney Day party.

Memom and Jill and family...have fun at your disney party! I wished I lived closer to you...that sounds so fun! I will pray for the rain clouds to come to my house so my husband doesn't have to go to his race tonight!;)

We even have those shoes and shirts signs way up here :rotfl2:

Have fun at your party.

Have a great party. I am crossing my fingers and toes... in Green Hills no rain and it is 9:53, so it looks like the rain is going to stay away for your party. Yippee:cool1::cool1:
