A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

The leopard picture is stunning! Very beautiful.

Looks like a fun day at the Zoo.

The picture really turned out well. I was using the camera John bought me when I had Bella (such a sweet husband. I had been looking at it for a while and just wouldn't spend the money myself). I was playing with the settings so that I'm really comfortable with it in 85 days when we are at Disney!!!!

Hope you get what your looking for MeMom. Teaching is less stressful when you are in a class that you want to be in.

btw - we are at the 100 day mark today so I decided it it was time for a pre-trip report.

GREAT! I'll do the double digit dance for you tomorrow. It is just an awesome dance, and I'm so good at it!
Here's a preview. :cool1:

I wanna be one of the first on the PTR, too!

Well MeMom that news deserves a party:. I am so happy for you that you get a break. I was just wondering when you would hear if you were going to get moved.

We were thinking we wouldn't know until the last week, but the news arrived a little earlier. I'm glad, because I've already started cleaning house in this room.

Payday Fridays are the best, for about 5 mins you have money in the hand.:goodvibes

Great news about the 1st/2nd deal. I am sending best wishes that you and the other teacher get to stay together. It is one less thing to get used to at the beginning of the year if you know your team teachers teaching style.

I am also saying rain rain go away come back another day for you tomorrow.

Yes, five very short minutes!!!

I guess I should have my kids do the no rain dance today.
It's sort of the like the snow dance we do in the winter, only backwards.

Such wonderful news from the principal MeMom!!! I had goosebumps reading that!

Kudos to your principal to care more about his teachers than good scores.

Everybody was saying there was no way he'd let us move, but I guess the third year of asking was enough for him. He was very kind in saying he knew we needed a break.

Brooklynn is playing in the kitchen and Isabella is in her swing so I am grabbing the few quiet minutes to post zoo pictures.

The girls and I arrived at the zoo at about 8:45. MeMom said they were planning on arriving between 9:00 and 9:15 so our timing was perfect. I fed Isabella and changed her diaper and then got the double stroller out. This was the first time I had used it so it took a minute to figure it all out. Brooklynn wanted to sit in the back and got mad when I told her no because that is where Isabella's car seat attached. Once she found out the front seat had a sunshade too she was fine to sit up there. (She figured out the sunshade keeps the sun out of your face when we were in Disney in October. She would adjust the shade as the sun came up or went down and now in the car she asks us to put the sunshade (visors) down when the sun gets n her face.) We joined MeMom's class when they arrived at about 9:30. They went over the rules and passed out the tickets and then it was time to see some animals.

Bella had her sun hat on (it swallows her tiny head!) and snoozed in the stroller.

Brooklynn watched for MeMom's school bus.

Brooklynn was so excited to ride the carousel (It's really a merry go round because it has different animals) She picked MeMom's favorite - a zebra.

Well, Brooklynn is now harassing the dog and Isabella is crying due to all the noise her big sister and the dog are making. I have laundry to do and dishes to wash, and I have to pack for this weekend. Maybe the girls will cooperate today and take their naps at the same time. It is raining here so maybe Brooklynn will take a good long nap. I hope my sanity lasts until then!

Thanks for the pictures I can't see.

Love the leopard picture and who is that with Brooklynn on the Merry-go Round?

Have you considered NyQuil for nap time assistance? ;)

Just stay focused on the leopard picture, please.

Jill great update on the zoo, the pictures were great. The zoo looked like fun, and more fun tomorrow with the Disney party. Sending Sunshine your way for tomorrow.

Cloudy weather makes for a good napping day, so best wishes today.

Today can be a rain day for sleeping, and tomorrow can be a sunny day for Disneying. :)

Great pictures at the zoo... Isabella is sooo cute and Brooklynn is such a little lady.. I love how you added a semi hidden Memom. Happy Friday!

Funny, Jill. Very funny.

Brooklynn came into the living room with her backpack on and a baby in her arms. She told me she is leaving. I asked her where she was going and she said "Tennessee" So if you are on 65 and see a small blond in only Sleeping Beauty panties with a Magic Kingdom backpack that contains one can of soup, a flip flop, and a stuffed Minnie Mouse carrying a baby doll could you please return her home to Alabama or if your headed north drop her off at MeMom's.

If anyone ends up bringing her here, could you stop and get her some clothes first? A nearly naked two year old could cause quite a scene on my hallway.

That one was almost as good as an AK picture.

great zoo pics and love the hidden memom pic! Glad you had a good time at the zoo...My SIL has the summer off since she works for the zoo so she got season passes for the zoo and she and my mil are taking the kids this summer. I told them that was fine but we have to go on a weekend too so I can go...I think Caleb will really enjoy the animals!

She got brave because she knew I was at school and couldn't do anything about it. I'm anxious to see the horribleness when I get home. I hope I am well hidden behind the zebra, but it really wasn't that big of a zebra, I'm afraid.

Zoo trips are fun with our students, but because of the bus situation, they don't get to stay nearly long enough to get much out of it.

I'm sure Caleb will love the animals. Brooklynn always has.

:lmao: That is so cute!

We needed the whole scene on video.

Priceless! I love it.

That is too funny. I live close to the zoo and my DD3 goes all the time. She may have been there that day. They usually go 2 times a week to play on that playground. My mother-in-law watches her and we have passes. I have loved watching the relationship between you and your Mom, as well as your family. Your Brooklyn is so much like my Abby. A lot of the same personality. I love how you all share the love of Disney. I probably couldn't get my Mom to Disney (hates crowds, heat, etc, but I know she would love to see our DD down there). She went with my older sister's family and myself before I was married and it was an adventure to say the least:love:.

Brooklynn fell off the chair and to get her to calm down to see if her fingers were broken I let her type to my Dis friends.

I love the zoo pictures, especially the leopard and the merry-go-round one! Too funny about Brooklynn leaving home! Is there a kid alive who hasn't done that at least once?!? :)

Great news memom about probably getting to teach 2nd grade next year. Hope it works out for you!

Awesome, MeMom, about the move! :cheer2:

Great zoo pics, Jill! That woman with Brooklyn looks vaguely familiar! :rolleyes1

Brooklyn's choice of items to take to Tennessee made me laugh out loud!!! :rotfl2:

I see a hidden MeMom but she's not so hidden this time! LOL! Love it. :) That leopard picture is sooo neat. He's laying on his arms, contemplating something. Or maybe just enjoying the weather. Little Bella's head looks so tiny in her big hat. What a doll!

LOL! Too cute!

Memom: I somehow missed your first post about possibly getting to move to 1st or 2nd grade! Thats great! My first grade teachers was one of my favorite teachers. Now my 2nd grade teacher--not so much. She was fun at the time because she let us play games all day long (she was a last minute replacement teacher to replace the teacher who was fired for being abusive to kids) well it was great to get to play games all day long until the school year was over and my whole class had to go to summer school for the whole summer! Lets just say we were'nt to happy then and she was fired! Don't think she ever taught again and the abusive teacher works at a fast food resturant! Guess they got what was coming to them!

:cool1: :thumbsup2 ;) :) :lovestruc :cutie:  :wizard:  :cloud9: :woohoo:  :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: :flower3: Congrats on your VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY good news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel relieved for you!!!!! No one can really imagine what good news that is unless they've been there. I know you feel like a new woman!!!!!

MeMom--great news about the teaching move!!
jill--your girls are just soo cute!
Both, have a fantastically fun weekend together:goodvibes

I also have to say the dog/older sibling game waking the little one is a common theme at our house. Soon enough, You'll be the one crying as both Brooklynn and Bella get the dog going!

Congrats MeMom on the classroom move. Great zoo pics. Have a fun weekend!

Can you all imagine how I felt to come home and find out that my Brookie not only wanted to walk like the big girls, but she had also transformed into a monkey!!!

All you people were too nice to tell Jill about her double posted picture. How sweet! :)

She said her photobucket was being crazy and just giving her numbers instead of pictures, so she had a slight mess up. I didn't see it until just now when I got home and checked in.

I laughed.
Quite a bit, actually.

I think it's a little late on that sanity issue you were speaking of.

This is what Brooklynn really looks like when she's walking like the big girls.

IMG_0256.jpg

Looks a little like she's on drugs in that one.

Thanks for the laugh, Jill. I can always use a good laugh.

And I have to say, the leopard picture is incredible!
It deserves two :thumbsup2:thumbsup2!!

You'll probably be at my house when you read this. :wave2:
Love ya!

He talked to us about the moves we had been requesting. He said he really hated to lose us in thrid grade because our scores had consistently been the best, but he understood that we needed a break, and he thought we deserved it. He said we would most likely both be moving to second, but there was a slight chance one would move to second and the other to first. The other teacher prefers second, and I don't care either way, so if the 1st/2nd deal comes through, I'll take that spot. He's pretty sure he's going to put both of us in 2nd, though, so that we can lay a good foundation for the 3rd grade teachers who later receive our kids. This has lifted a huge weight from my life. I can't even imagine what it is going to be like next year when TCAP rolls around and I'm not 'stressed to the max'.

I am VERY happy for you!! Great teachers like you deserve the best!
 <~~~~Happy dance from me.

I fed Isabella and changed her diaper and then got the double stroller out.

Well that answers my stroller question! :thumbsup2

I don't know what Mel want's to do but we have looked at the Double Umbrella strollers. I think it would be great to have something light and something that reclines if they are napping. They will be 4yrs and 11mo at the time so I think it would be nice to have a side by side

Brooklynn was very excited to see the giraffes.

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl: You know I would pick her up if I saw her!!

I didn't go to Franklin today as planned but if I had I would have taken her shopping at the Disney store and then brought her to you:3dglasses

Brooklynn I hope you survive your day today :flower3: and have a wonderful time at your MeMom's this weekend.

Hope I get to see you guys but I think tomorrow is supposed to be about as nice as today was, so we might all want to stay in. You guys just let me know....I'm up for whatever :thumbsup2
