A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

This guy went to an awful lot of trouble just to hit the Esc key.

You know, they should put a big old webcam on that computer so we could see what is going on at Pop all day!

Oh, Bella's room is adorable! Love the colors.

Brookie is adorable playing outside in that dress. :cutie:Well you already knew that, huh?!

I think the colors are pretty, too. It's a very peaceful room....

right now.

I thought Brooklynn looked very sweet in her little dress. She thought she was beautiful and loved twirling around in it.

I could really go for some of that cake about now! Even if Mickey is looking down, it just looks like he's ready for some yummy frosting!

Those outfits are soooooooooooooo adorable!! Very very very cute! And Brooklyn looks soooo grown up in that dress! She looks like such a sweet little lady! Also, I am jealous of "Bellarie"'s room! I have almost bought that Cinderella pillow for myself a bajillion times! She is one lucky little girl!

We too had snow this morning...I was very jealous to see Brooklyn out in barefeet! It's not fair...I wore flip flops yesterday and today I was back to my winter coat, scarf and gloves! Blech!

Brooklynn had blue frosting all over her mouth from the cake. Jill said she got up requesting cake for breakfast, but that was axed very quickly.

Winter hasn't completely let go here, but certainly no snow is in the forecast!

I apologize to you for my gross oversight.....about the three pools at POP.

How could I have not remembered that fact, I should be an expert by now. :guilty: I've looked at your pics so many times. ;)

I wanted to stay at POP and Aaron didn't care, so I caved and let the other girls in my life choose. :goodvibes

Don't you worry, I saved the best resort for last.....maybe next year our paths will cross.

I'm so excitted about staying 11 nights! I have 10 ADR's in mind, now I just need 1 more.....the choices....popcorn::

You'll like Music. We like it a lot, and the rooms are much brighter and fresher than Pop right now. Pop needs new bedspreads.

Great update, MeMom! I love seeing the pics of the Pop--I'll be driving through those gates in 158 days. :cloud9: I love the pictures of Brooklynn too, she's looks so grown up! I have always loved being a mom to a boy, but seeing those cute girl clothes is making me wish my next one is a princess:.

Good luck on Tuesday, Jill! Just think a week from today you will finally get to meet your little girl!!

Krista

Yes, one week from right now it will all be over. Bella will be here wondering what she's gotten herself into. I will be in Alabama, and all of us involved in the day will be in zombie-like states from lack of rest. Brooklynn and I will be going home to go to sleep, and John will spend the night at the hospital with Jill.

Is there where you have been hiding MeMom? I finally found you! Will the other report be closed now? I'm off to madly catch up on all 20 pages. :)

Hiding?
Me???
Surely not.

You were the one who wanted Pizza Planet pictures, right? I have some coming soon.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for the postcard you a.k.a.(The Princesses) sent Lexi, she was so thrilled. She opened up our mailbox and she was beaming with joy. She said "how do they know it's going to be my birthday? Look it's 3D!" I told her it's Disney magic. ;) She loves it, you are so sweet to include her. She got a great report card today, so it was a nice reward. :cloud9: Lana

That makes me feel better. Hopefully, the others will arrive soon.

It is truly Disney magic!

Tell her congratulations on a great report card!
I'm sure her teacher appreciates her good work.

all caught up.

great update and pics.

Glad you got a new building to stay in.

See ya real soon....

I wanted to skip ahead just a little and put these Toy Story Pizza Planet arcade pictures up for whoever it was that wanted those. I really can't remember for sure, but whoever wanted them, here you are!

I hope that gives you and your kids a pretty good idea of what all they can do while they are waiting on their pizza.

Have a good day, everyone! Maybe we can all have pizza sometime today and dream ourselves away to Pizza Planet!
For me, I know that would be much better than a PBJ after Science this afternoon.

Pizza Planet is on our list to try this trip. :thumbsup2

If it's BrooklynnsMommy's favorite, it must be great! ;)

Will I be able to keep my kids out of the arcade? We will see...:rotfl:

I saw them do a piece on the pizza making machine at Pizza Planet on a show called 'Unwrapped' at Disney World.

You can see it on You Tube if you havn't seen it. Here's the link:

(I added my first link, all by myself...LOL)

Have a great April Fool's Day, I hope there's no gum on your teachers chair when you get to school!

"I haven't been to all of the exciting places that many people around here have, and I know that I would love to see rainforests and historical sights and museums and all kinds of places, but right now Disney World is just the place that makes me the happiest. I get a little touch of lots of things all in one place. During this trip, I went to Morocco, flew over California, lived in a treehouse, traveled with pirates, dove under the sea, rode a wild mountain train, stood with people from all around the world to watch Illuminations, and saw a tiger get a check-up about five feet away from me. I don't know any other place I coud have done all of those things in five days.[/QUOTE]"--MeMom

This is EXACTLY what I need to tell people when they say "Disney AGAIN?!"

Oooh, Disney parties are so fun! Can we come?

A Sci-Fi one would be great! Do you have Sci-Fi cups with glow cubes?

Take pictures and share with us when you have it!

I forgot we had a Disney party last year. My birthday party was Pop themed. this is the only picture I can find right now.

n1599007392_38617_6340.jpg

We did make your own pizzas for dinner and had "Mom's Night Out" TV dinner cupcakes for dessert.

The Sci-Fi glow cubes sound like a fantastic idea, and sure, you all are more than welcome to join in the fun, we are in central Alabama!

Love the Pizza Planet pics - that's DH's absolute favorite CS meal!

Those cupcakes are awesome!

I know! I thought that too!

White as Snow: How did you do that...the chicken is that toasted coconut? What is on top of the green ones and how did you make it look like mashed potatoes?? That looks soo fun!

Yes, it was me MeMom! Thank you, thank you so much. Pizza Planet is where we will dine for dinner in November. You are so awesome!

Those cupcakes are awesome!

I’m glad you all liked them - they were BEYOND fun to do!

k_reile:The recipe is from an awesome book that I gave DH for Easter last year. It’s called Hello Cupcake by Alan Richardson and Karen Tack.

The chicken is made by placing a donut hole on top of the cupcake and covering it with icing and crushed corn flakes (the only bad part was that these got a little stale). The peas are green Sixlets. The book called for lime Runts, but Runts went tropical and there were no more limes. The mashed potatoes are just canned white icing (the canned holds up better than home made would). My hubby went to culinary school for a year and is an excellent cake decorator (some of his creations can be seen by following the Disney pictures link in my signature). So, he did the “swirling.” The gravy is caramel sauce and the pat of butter is a yellow Starburst. The carrots are chopped orange Starburst, and the chocolate pudding is pretty self-explanatory.

I really am hoping we get to do a Sci-Fi party because there is an alien cupcake recipe that will be SO cute! Things like this and Disney make my biological clock tick faster.......

White as Snow you did a terrific job on those cupcakes, very creative and fun. :thumbsup2

I have to make a bday cake tonight for my DS, it's fiesta themed. :)

hey, ladies! i need some of your disney summer traveling expertise. my office manager is going to disney this july and i'm trying to come up with a good schedule for her. she has an 11-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl. they are staying at pop century, have a 5-day base ticket and they're doing the quick service dining plan, so no TS ADRs to worry about. (they are gonna do lunch with the princesses at akershus but that's it.)

anyway, since i've never been in the summer i was wondering if the plan below looks okay to you guys. i looked at a couple of planning websites that shall remain nameless and i'm going by what they say. just let me know your thoughts - i would appreciate it!

sat., july 18 (they're leaving on my birthday - how depressing is that for me?) - drive down to disney world, check in at pop and maybe go to downtown disney or the boardwalk for some shopping and dinner.

sun., july 19 -
-MK all day (this is actually not recommended for this day b/c of evening EMH, but it's really the best day for their schedule. nothing else works for this day because they didn't want to start with AK, there's no fantasmic at DHS that night and epcot is not recommended either b/c of morning EMH. so i figured what better way to start the vacation than with MK?)
-see parade at 3:00
-afternoon break
-back to MK for spectro at 9:00 & wishes at 10:00
-MK EMH (until the kids give out - definitely not until closing)

mon., july 20 -
-epcot all day
-morning at FW
-lunch with the princesses at akershus for christine and sidney (her DD) while her DH and dylan (her DS) walk over to ESPN zone to have a "manly" lunch together
-no break this day b/c they'll need all day to get both FW and WS done
-afternoon/evening at WS
-illumations @ 9:00
-epcot has evening EMH that night if they're up to it. for some reason it's recommended that day though

tues., july 21-
-DHS all day
-afternoon break after block party
-back to DHS for fantasmic at 9:00

wed., july 22-
-pool day! enjoy the pool today at pop
-either go to DTD or the boardwalk for shopping and dinner that night, depending on what they did on saturday

thurs., july 23-
-AK all day
-no break today - AK closes at 7:00
-early night so they can rest for their last big day at MK tomorrow

fri., july 24-
-MK all day
-long afternoon break around 2:00 today to get ready for last night at MK
-back to MK to ride stuff until they can't ride stuff anymore! MK has EMH this night too so they can enjoy a late night here. they can see wishes and/or spectro again if they want. if not, they've already seen it on sunday so it doesn't matter.

sat., july 25 - check out, swing by DTD if they want to, and then hit the road

the only thing that i don't like about this schedule is that their 2 MK days are on a sunday and a friday. that seems risky to me. but the only day that they're going to ANY park that's not recommended is on sunday to MK. but that's the only way i could make it work.

thoughts?

The two full days at MK sound exhausting to me! On the first MK day I'd stay until after the parade and then hang out at the resort that night; especially with the full day at Epcot the next day. If they're up late the night before they're going to be some grumpy peeps. I'd do Spectro and Wishes that night. And, if they want to stay for EMH that night they can since they can sleep in the next morning.

I'd also really encourage them to take a break on their Epcot day. They're not going to be able to see it all anyway so why wear themselves out?

We leave for WDW tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jill- I hope Bellarie makes a safe, speedy and pain free arrival. I will be praying for you and can't wait to hear all about her when we return.

MeMom- Can't wait to see your pictures of your new baby princess.

Talk to you guys in 10 days.

I have that Unwrapped on video. It makes me want a Mickey bar!

The Pizza Planet arcade is a great place for kids to get out of the summer sun and have some fun. We don't have one old enough to want to spend hours there yet, but I guess families just have to make the call and tell their kids they can play x number of games each or spend x amount of money each, and when it's done, it's done. I'm too old to have grown up playing video games, but my third-graders would think that place is just short of heaven!

This is EXACTLY what I need to tell people when they say "Disney AGAIN?!"

I am fortunate that my teacher friends don't bug me about going to Disney World. Most of them get excited every time I go and talk about taking their own families someday.

In my opinion, at this time in my life for my family, it is the place we want to be. That may change as/if Disney changes, but for now, it is a very special place for us.

I forgot we had a Disney party last year. My birthday party was Pop themed. this is the only picture I can find right now.

You will have to share more pictures of your creativity when you have more parties.

Your kids will have a great time there! I was happy to take the pictures for you. It took a little bit to get pictures around the people walking around and those on the games, so there are some blurs and some strangers, but I think it shows most of what is downstairs. I don't know if there are more games upstairs or if that is all eating area. We have eaten upstairs, but I didn't pay attention if there were more games up there.

Looks great to me. In the summer, there is always going to be the heat/crowd/afternoon rain factor. As long as they know that going in, they'll be fine. They just have to prioritize the rides and attractions they want to do most, take time to rest and regroup, and then go at it again to either redo favorites or do some different things. As long as they have good attitudes about it, it'll all be fine.

They are leaving the day we arrive. They'll be the sad people looking jealously at us, the happy people. I like that part of the trip. I hate it when we're the sad people dragging suitcases out having to look at the happy people checking in!

The two full days at MK sound exhausting to me! On the first MK day I'd stay until after the parade and then hang out at the resort that night; especially with the full day at Epcot the next day. Rest is an important part of the trips to keep everyone in good spirits. It looks like Dawn has planned for some good rest times. Maybe they can find some places inside the parks to sit and unwind here and there, too, if they need more. Since they don't have babies, they should be able to go fairly strong for most of the day.

We leave for WDW tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great trip! We'll keep you in our prayers for safe travel. I hope the weather is good for you.

When you come back, there is the possibility there will be a new picture or two of the little girls. :)

Have fun!!!

Have fun!

Yeah, have fun for all of us!

Hope you have a fun and safe trip! I'll be at the hospital at 4am Tuesday morning so I will be thinking that you are at my happy place then.

Maybe you should call Jill and let her listen to the sounds of her happy place as she is in labor. :)

**********************

It is finally Friday!
It is also a very blustery day here in the Hundred Acre Woods of Middle Tennessee.

Have a great day, everyone!

Morning MeMom!

Aaron's birthday was a success, a low key FIESTA!
We never got to the Virgin Margaritas....

We went out for dinner at a restaurant called The Keg, it was great.

Sorry, no food pics.

For appetizers we hade the Three cheese garlic bread and Aaron had the Shrimp in garlic and cheese butter. Both were good!

I had the "famous' steak with ceasar salad, mixed veggies and a baked potatoe. Fantastic!

DMom had the Chicken and Rib plate with mixed veggies and a baked potatoe. She really liked it, and I tried some and it was good!

Aaron had the Cajun chicken with mixed veggies and fries. He said it was the best!

Lexi had her favorite, Chicken strips and fries. (she always orders the same thing, no matter where we go from McDonalds to 5 star :rotfl:) She said it was great! Oh, I forgot they gave her an app. of carrot & celery sticks and sliced oranges. very cute idea.

We shared the complimentary Bday dessert. A Mocha icecream pie with chocolate cookie base. Topped with caramel & chocolate drizzle and toasted almonds. Yummy!

We were too stuffed for cake when we came home, so we will eat it tonight. :)

I will show you pics, maybe tonight? ;)

I'm still trying to get Aaron to wear the sombrero and the chili pepper necklace. :lmao:
