A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

thanks for postin the pic of my dad.(its no problem about the flash, i edited it and i can see him just fine now) he told me he got skinnier but wow! it just made me realize how much i miss im.

aww and judy chckked you in. i love it whn u stay at pop so i can see old my old friends

Yeay a Saturday morning update!!!

I am very proud of Eeyore for choosing to recycle!!! :thumbsup2

I also watched all those movies in the 90's over and over and over again -- I could not get enough of The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, or Aladdin when I was younger. Still can't if the truth be told. ;)

Oh, how I wish I could pop down to Disney to get that Easter egg Mickey plate -- it would be so perfect to put our glitter and dyed eggs in!!! I also like the new pink 2009 shirt -- that may be a winner depending on the other t-shirts that are there in June.

Have fun in Bama -- I have been keeping an eye on the radar and I think you almost have an all-clear on the rain. Will you take a picture of the cake before you cut it?

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK018.jpg

do you think the bus driver had enough scent trees hanging up??? maybe it helps with perfuming all those stinky tourists that get off and on his bus. :rotfl2:

Our room was across the parking lot from the bus stop, so though it wasn't what you would consider a prime location, it was just as close to the bus stop as some of the better spots if you look at distance only and not view.

i'm pretty sure you guys got a room near where erica and i were in september. our room was 8250 and i think we were under the sign that said, "you go girl!"

Aren't they just too cute???

::yes:: i love the colors! very springy/summery.

This update is better than Saturday morning cartoons! :happytv:

The merchandise pics are great - they make me want to be there so badly!

The goals to stay in every building, every resort and eat at all the restaurants is not at ALL goofy! I love that every WDW vacation is different.

We always get put in the 50s section of Pop. Is the 90s section of Pop pretty close to the bus stop? I need to wander over that way next time.....

I really like the 2009 shirt!

I keep writing the date as 2008. :confused3 I am having trouble remembering what year it is. If I went back to Disney for a 2009 pin for my bulletin board, I think it would help my memory. :rolleyes1

Eeyore looks excited to get to the first park. :eeyore:

Enjoy the Mickey cake. I'm glad you will be spending time with Jill and Brooklynn this weekend. I know you have been missing them. Have a safe trip!

Aw I love Eeyore's little signs.

Thanks for showing pics of the resort. I've only stayed at the All-Star Sports a long time ago, so I don't know what the other ones really look like.

/
I love the mickey mouse deviled egg plate. Too bad I don't like deviled eggs!

:car::car::car::car::car::car::car::car::car::car:OHHHHH HERE you all are!!!! :magnify::magnify::magnify::magnify: I have a doctors note for why I havent been here. My computer got a virus right after two of my girls did. But all is well and functioning normally now. I have completely missed the first 14 pages of this trippie but I just caught up!

First, I looked forward to my little weekend without kids trip to Disney...it was fun for about 2 hours and then I spent the rest of the weekend missing them...I will NEVER do that again. So I totally get what you were saying about missing your family!
I love and laughed over Eeyore's notes...and the speechless ones too...hahahahaha:rotfl: What a great idea! I really am craving a burger and fries after that pic! Love the update and looking forward to more!

Jill - thanks for keeping us updated on memom's adventures! Hope you are feeling well....you certainly look great! I know you will keep us posted on the big arrival on the 7th! But 4 am??? ouch???

Memom - about work....one thing is good...we're in 4th quarter! :teacher:

Brooklynn is looking so much older but just cute as anything! I hope you all enjoy your safari party...terrible about all of the storms and things....please stay safe and drive carefully memom!

I really need to stay at the Pop sometime! It just looks so bright and cheerful! I'm sorry your party plans didn't work out, hopefully the next date will include a bright sunny day for you all! And a new little bundle of joy too! :)

Thank you so much for the pics! I am so thrilled that we will have a new book!

Hope you had a fantastic day with your girls... sad that the party was cancelled and I totally agree-- 4th quarter sounds great! We have one week left in this quarter till spring break! (But we go forever this year!)

Great photos, MeMom. Seeing them made me really miss Pop! We stayed there last September and it was a lot of fun! We didn't have the best room location, but other than that it was great. I really liked the food court and I LOVED the gift shop. I could have spent hours there. (In fact, I'm sure I did over the span of 10 days! :rotfl2:)

Can't wait to read more! :goodvibes

MeMom -

another great set of pics. Nice to see the Vinylmations 'in person'. Gotta ask where you picked up the Eeyore card holder. Does he have fellow characters? Is he from a mall Disney store or from a park store????

I'm pretty sure that Eeyore was from a set of items Jill got me a long, long time ago for a birthday or Christmas or something, so I can't pinpoint where it was from. Kohl's had larger Mickey and Minnie ones like it a couple of years ago, so you might try them, and there were a few kind of along the same line in WDW that I saw this trip.

Wishing you a great time in Alabama with your girls, and traveling mercies in the wet weather.

I enjoyed picture shopping at Pop Century this morning. I need one of all the Easter stuff, Mickey and Minnie were so cute dressed in the eggs.

Student/teacher/parent meetings is one of the things I donot miss about teaching. I had a parent to turn and look out the door with his back to the group the whole meeting one time. It was easy to see part of the childs problem, thank goodness the wife at least wanted to talk about and listen to our concerns.

Have a fun fun time with the girls.

The bad weather didn't show up until much later in the day. It was wet and windy in the morning, but the storms didn't some until evening.

I can picture myself standing in Everything Pop right now...loading a basket with those plates and bowls! :)

I walked in to a meeting once to meet the mother saying, "You the teacher? You the one I want!" (Exact words.) She proceeded to tell a story of how I brought her son to the front of the classroom and had all the class make fun of the hole in his shoe. She was so mad it wasn't funny, but I assured her I had no idea he even had a hole in his shoe, much less would I ever make fun of that or have others make fun of that. She wasn't convinced, and it took four other teachers in the building coming in with their reports on her son's behavior/misbehavior for her to calm down and not think I was out to get this little guy. Unless he has made some significant changes in his behaviors since he left our school, he is probably living a very rough life out there somewhere.

Great photos I want those vinylmation things what is it?? Is it just a figuring or is there more to it?

I'm not sure. Maybe Megablocks can tell us more. It just looked like figures, but I just glanced. They may have other things that go with them and stories behind them. We'll have to do more research on that and find out what it's all about.

I love Nemo swimming out of the new 2009 logo! I have to say that I like that they've gone beyond the Fab 5. Disney has really been promoting they are so much more than Mickey (the horrors!) lately... and I am glad to see the shirts reflect it!

Memom, I didn't realize you were in Nashiville! How I missed that I don't know! :) We are thinking of taking a smallish family vacation this summer, just the 4 of us and Nashville was one of my hubby's suggestions. Besides meeting the famous MeMom and hitting the Disney store, what other fun things are there to do for a family of with a 3 year old and a nearly 5 year old. Thanks!

I hope the miniparty at Jill's goes well. I am sure there are two girls in Alabama who are as lonesome for you as you are for them!

Jill commented on the new logo as soon as she saw it, too. It is cute.

Opry Mills is a good mall. It has the Rainforest Cafe and a Build-a-Bear Workshop. It has a place where you can touch the stingrays and a good sized carousel in the food court.

Nashville has The Parthenon, Country Music Hall of Fame and Grand Ole Opry, and a science museum. There is also the Grassmere Wildlife Park. Maybe Erica, Dawn, and Jill can add some more things to the list. Fairly near our house there is Moss-Wright Park, which would be a nice place for us to meet and have a picnic and let the kids play, if you do come this way.

Just thought of something else - the Wave Pool.

Happy day! don't forget to take a pic of the Mickey cake.

I reuse Disney too!

Pop looks so vibrant and inviting...oh, which resort to choose??

I like the new autograph book style.

I wish the Vinylmation figures came in clear packages so you could see which ones you were getting. I know they want us to buy lots, in hopes of collecting the set. We will probably buy one.

Nothing is better than brite Mickey plates, so cheerful.

Lexi noticed the 'new' mug and the napkins. She remembers the Dasani having Tinkerbell on it.

I have to have the Easter egg Mickey & Minnie.

Lexi wants the t-shirt with the Nemo splashing through the 'O' ....her list is getting bigger... $$$

I have to share something. Last week my washer broke so we ordered a new on that was delivered Thursday.

My DMom spent all day doing laundry to catch up....then the unthinkable happened that evening.....

the dryer broke. :scared1: Can you believe the irony.

My DMom tried to fix it but the motor is shot. (she is superwoman when it comes to fixing things, so if she says it's broke it is.)

We called to order the new dryer and they won't give us the discount for ordering the pair because they were purchased seperately...:headache:. No fair! Two delivery charges too!

Goodbye extra Disney money, I will miss you. :sad1:

I took a picture of the cake, but to be honest, the little figure thing was kind of whacky. It looked like someone had dropped a brick on Mickey's head. He was looking down at the cake instead of straight out, so I had to get at an angle to see his face. When we do the party, I'm going to check elsewhere for another type of Disney cake.

We have had good treatment and good times at Pop. Of course we want to stay deluxe someday just to see what that's like, but Pop suits our needs and our budget for now, and we've always had good CM interaction.

I'm such a Disney dork that I have kept my Tinkerbell water bottle!

Sorry about the appliances. I hate it when things take my Disney money!

I love that Eeyore was speechless when seeing the pool. :rotfl2: This post is making me wonder how many index cards you went through on your trip. Did you keep track?

I did okay the first day at the comment thing, but poor little Eeyore was pretty much forgotten the next two days. Either I didn't think about him at the time or it was just too much of a hassle to write stuff or whatever. You will see later in the report that he complains about his mistreatment, too.

I think you were close to the building that we stayed in! We were in 8112 and had a Rubics cube right outside our door.

I love your pictures going in to Pop, and all of the pictures from inside; it really makes me feel like I'm there again.

I remember my mom telling me that the Vinylmations are changed up -- I think there are different series? I never saw those ones, but I see a few that I would like to hunt down.

Our building had cell phones. From our door, we could look across the parking lot and see the bus stop area and behind that the bowling pins.

I'd like to be walking around Pop right now. I know exactly what is happening. Little motor carts are driving around, CMs are scrubbing the sidewalks and pool area, the food court smells like waffles and bacon, guests are wheeling in and wheeling out luggage...

Awww seeing all those pictures of Pop Century sure makes me want to go back "home"! I'm pretty sure we're not going this year, but we will almost definitely be going in 2010. Oldest DD will be starting college then and she will be going to a small college about an hour or so drive from Disney. It's in Lake Wales, FL.! We're talking about getting annual passes then (at least for her) since she'll be so close. She'll probably want to go every once in a while!!

Looking forward to more of your trip report popcorn::

If you don't go this year, you will surely make up for it when she's so close! Lucky her! What is she going to study in college? Is this the one that draws all the Disney characters?

thanks for postin the pic of my dad.(its no problem about the flash, i edited it and i can see him just fine now) he told me he got skinnier but wow! it just made me realize how much i miss im.

aww and judy chckked you in. i love it whn u stay at pop so i can see old my old friends

Your dad was so nice. You need to leave the cold behind and get yourself back to good old Pops and good old Pop Century!!!

Yeay a Saturday morning update!!!

I am very proud of Eeyore for choosing to recycle!!! :thumbsup2

I had that egg tray in my hand more than once, but this trip was for me to buy things for others, not for myself, so I kept putting it back. I wanted to buy those plates, but it wasn't in my budget. Maybe next time.

I took a picture of the cake, but I was disappointed with it. I didn't bring my USB cord down here, so I'll show it after I get home.

do you think the bus driver had enough scent trees hanging up??? maybe it helps with perfuming all those stinky tourists that get off and on his bus. :rotfl2:

::yes:: i love the colors! very springy/summery.

I noticed that, too, about the tree scents. I guess for a big bus you need a big tree or a lot of little ones!

Why didn't I just think of buying the plates for Jill, and then I could have borrowed them?!?!? :)

This update is better than Saturday morning cartoons! :happytv:

The merchandise pics are great - they make me want to be there so badly!

I'm glad you are enjoying the pictures. Pictures do make you just want to jump into them, don't they?

We've got a long way to go on our goal, so many trips are in our future, hopefully.

love the update as usual your pictures are fun and informative:goodvibes

I'm glad to help you with all Disney enjoyment and information needs!

I really like the 2009 shirt!

Enjoy the Mickey cake. I'm glad you will be spending time with Jill and Brooklynn this weekend. I know you have been missing them. Have a safe trip!

Yes, you need to go down there and purchase a 2009 pin so that you can keep yourself straight! That would be a necessity for doing your job correctly, so they would need to foot the bill, too!

I enjoyed the day. Brooklynn is sitting here eating her cereal right now as she watches Little Einsteins.

Aw I love Eeyore's little signs.

Thanks for showing pics of the resort. I've only stayed at the All-Star Sports a long time ago, so I don't know what the other ones really look like.

Pop is nice, but you stay in all those really nice places, so you might not be quite as impressed or satisfied. We've stayed at all of the values, and Jill and John have stayed at two moderates. Deluxe - here we come! (Some day!)

I love the mickey mouse deviled egg plate. Too bad I don't like deviled eggs!

My boys devour deviled eggs. If they picked them up off the Mickey plate, they would be rolling their eyes while they devoured them!

Can't wait to see this sign!

Love this shirt, I see it in my future! Oh, and I missed the picture of the plates, but they are really cute! I can see why you like them! I hope you have a wonderful weekend and you have a great trip to Alabama.

Maybe you can get a family set of the shirts to wear in the parks. It would make for nice PhotoPass pictures.

OHHHHH HERE you all are!!!! :magnify: I have a doctors note for why I havent been here. My computer got a virus right after two of my girls did. But all is well and functioning normally now. I have completely missed the first 14 pages of this trippie but I just caught up!

Glad you found us!

Can you believe Jill is making me get up so early to go have a baby?????

We're rescheduling the party for sometime in May, I think. I hope it is a pretty day when it rolls around.

I know you missed your family. My trip was fun, but not nearly as fun as with my family.

I really need to stay at the Pop sometime! It just looks so bright and cheerful! I'm sorry your party plans didn't work out, hopefully the next date will include a bright sunny day for you all! And a new little bundle of joy too! :)

I need your sunny thoughts for a sunny day when we do have the party!

It will be nice for everyone to get to see and hold the baby, too.

Thank you so much for the pics! I am so thrilled that we will have a new book!

Hope you had a fantastic day with your girls... sad that the party was cancelled and I totally agree-- 4th quarter sounds great! We have one week left in this quarter till spring break! (But we go forever this year!)

We have eight weeks left, but they are a busy eight weeks. Once we get finished with TCAP, we can relax and have some fun!

Hi MeMom, hope you had a good day with your favorite girls yesterday. Sorry
that you had to postpone the party, stupid weather! :headache:

Those dishes are soooo cute! If I had my own house I so would be buying them  I'm so excited to read about your time at DHS...I'll be there in less than 3 weeks! :goodvibes

Your dad was so nice. You need to leave the cold behind and get yourself back to good old Pops and good old Pop Century!!!

Yea this makes me want to get back to florida. Look what i woke up to this morning. I thought it was spring. :confused3

I'm not sure. Maybe Megablocks can tell us more. It just looked like figures, but I just glanced. They may have other things that go with them and stories behind them. We'll have to do more research on that and find out what it's all about.

I got this from the Disney website (for some reason it just mentions where to find them in Disneyland, but they're pretty much everywhere in the World):

Vinylmation, the original vinyl collectible available at select Disney Theme Park merchandise locations has arrived! Be among the first to collect the newly released and highly anticipated Park 1 series that features art and designs inspired by the Disney Parks and available exclusively at select Disney Theme Park Merchandise locations. Vinylmation is available in 3" and 9" sizes.

Packaged in blind packs, the 3" Park 1 vinyls will feature designs such as Disney Design Group's Monty Maldovan's take on Kermit The Frog or Walt Disney Imagineer Kyle Price's original Yeti design. Also, check out the Limited Release 9" Park 1 Series vinyls like the Safari Mickey created by Randy Noble of Disney Design Group.
Each Vinylmation tray contains 24 packages randomly assorted with two complete sets of the Park 1 Series Collection, plus ONE mystery "chaser" per tray. Each package contains 1 of 12 different vinyl designs from one of our unique themed collections.

This is the link -- from there you can also see the first series of Vinylmations. I got the red and green one, the black one with dots, Figment, and the Yeti. What they didn't say is that they're non-returnable and non-refundable, so I guess if you got 2 of the same, you can either trade it with someone else or sell it on Ebay.

MeMom, I forgot to tell you that my mom ended up buying a few of the bowls from Everything Pop. We love using them!

As always, I love your shopping pictures!

That deviled egg plate is too cute.

Yay for getting to your first park!

I know - it was a bummer about the weather, but hopefully when we reschedule it, it will be a perfect day. If not, we're going to go ahead with it anyway this time!

I loved those plates. It would cost a pretty penny to buy table service for a whole crew, but think how cute it would be.

Yea this makes me want to get back to florida. Look what i woke up to this morning. I thought it was spring. :confused3
e9jg5s.jpg

Yikes! We had rain and it was cool here, but nothing compared to that. I'm ready for warmth and sunshine, and I know you are!

Thanks for the Vinylmation news.

I bet you do love using your Disney bowls.
Thanks for rubbing it in! :snooty:

I held a bowl for a minute.

As always, I love your shopping pictures!

That deviled egg plate is too cute.

Yay for getting to your first park!

I held the egg plate several times. The only thing that kept me from giving in to that one is that it didn't actually say Disney World on it. If it had, I would have more than likely ended up getting that. Not that I need it, because I have two deviled egg trays, but they're not Mickey-shaped.

I've been home for a week and we've already made it to the bus stop on the report.
I'm flying through this one! :)

I thought the same thing Dawn! (about the smelly trees) The problem is, they're not even all the same scent! :rotfl2: Those trees reminded me of Grumpy Old Men when Walter Mattheau (can't spell his name) has a "stink" in his car and he has put pine trees ALL over his car!! I LOVE that movie.
We have friends that live in Huntsville! I know that Huntsville is a big city, and all I know about where they live is that you have to drive over the mountain to get to the city.
