A trip to WDW with a 2 and 3 year old and no melt downs? This must be magic!

After Jason and Aubrey were done with Soarin' we had a little more time to kill so we went over to ride Nemo. The kids really liked it this time, although Brendan was a little freaked out in the current tunnel part. It made me a bit dizzy too! Here is Brendan (and the monkey) checking out the eels after the ride...

We actually made it out just in time to catch Turtle Talk. We had never done this and were looking for to it. What a cool show, and funny! When we were done, I got a call from my sister and we all finally met up outside of the seas pavillion! It was so good to see my sisters and their families. We have been to Disney many times but have never been able to share it with family. We were there once before for a day with another sister of mine but it was rushed. I was really looking forward to spending this trip with them, especially since one of my sisters had never been before. Jason and I decided that it was time for us to cool off so we took our gang over to Club Cool. I couldn't wait to share the Beverly with them. This was going to be good. Ok, so here is my sister (the one who had never been to WDW before) having a taste...

086.jpg

And DH...

087.jpg

I mean, it just never gets old. Jason has tasted this stuff a million times and his face looks like he had no clue what to expect. It's just that bad:lmao: Here is Jason again with my nephew, niece, Brendan, and the monkey...

And................drumroll please....................It's ME!!!!

I love your report! What a beautiful family you have! After going every year for the past several years, my DH and I have decided we won't go back for a couple years, until our little one is around two and a half. I am loving reports with kids that age....I can't wait! Thanks for helping me get through till my next Disney fix! :)

FINALLY!!!!! :rotfl2: Nice to see you back on here!! I have been pretty busy too and my latest pre trippie for our trip in February is very sad!! I think about you guys too!! Your little guy reminds me SO much of my little guy!!! Are you on facebook??? I will have to add you as a friend.

More details - & lets see some more pictures!!! :goodvibes

You made my day with your update. I am so glad Audrey got to ride soarin. I can't wait to take Grace on it. You look wonderful. Did you lose more weight? I am trying so hard to lose weight too. I have lost 17lbs so far. I like you mickey t-shirt. I wish I would have had a chance to meet you when we went to Baton Rouge. Some of the streets we drove down to get to the park looked like the pictures you posted of your neighborhood with all the big pretty trees. I thought of you.

I'm so glad you picked your trip report back up! I love going to Disney with someone who has never been. I took my sister and niece back in June.

:cool1::cool1::cool1: Thanks!

I'm joning in! Your kids are ADORABLE!

:thumbsup2 Glad you're coming along for the ride. I hope to not disappoint:)

Ok, so DH and I SWORE that we would not go to Disney until our kids were 4 and 6:scared1: HAHAHAHAH! We went about 6 times before we had kids and used to look at the people with small children and think how hard it must be and that we would NEVER do that! We actually went once after my 1st was born by ourselves and then again by ourselves after my son was born. It was on that trip that we started noticing all of the people with kids our daughter's age (she was 2 at the time). We kept picturing her there with us and before we knew it we had joined DVC and booked a trip for her 3rd birthday. DS was 18months at that time. Check out my TR. It was last September. Yes, it was hard but I loved every second of it. This past trip in May was actually much easier. They were only about 8 months older but it made a world of difference. We plan on keeping the tradition going and taking the kids back for DS's 3rd birthday in March. Stay tuned because I'm sure there will be a PTR and TR for that one as well! Thanks for reading along:thumbsup2

Hey there friend! So, when are you going in Feb??? We were debating going then instead of in March for Brendan's birthday. His Bday is March 19 but we're scared of spring break crowds so we were thinking about going a month early during Mardi Gras but that happens to fall during President's week. What to do what to do???:confused3 You so need to find me on facebook. I PM'd you;)

Well you made my day asking if I have lost more weight! I actually have. Almost to -50lbs total!!! It's SO hard, especially over the summer. I am trying to lose at least another 15 before our trip in October. We shall see. Aubrey LOVED soarin'. I'm sure Grace will too. How tall is she now? When do you think y'all will be back?? I'm sorry we were not able to get together too. That would have been fun. One day! One day it will happen:thumbsup2 And all those pretty trees are keeping me up at night worrying about hurricane season. Remember last year?? GUSTAVE:scared1::scared1::scared1: I really hope we are spared this year!

I'm so glad you picked your trip report back up! I love going to Disney with someone who has never been. I took my sister and niece back in June.

Hey there! Yes, it is so neat to share the magic with newbies. And my sister was such a synic before the trip. She just didn't get what the "big deal" was about WDW. Today, she was over here and we saw a picture of an owl that my cousin emailed me (she woke up and it was in her back yard!!!) Anyway, my sister took one look at it and said "I wish I was in Animal Kingdom":rotfl: I told her that I've created a monster!!!:lmao:

Great report!! We are taking our 15 month and our 2 1/2 year old in our upcoming trip so your title definitely caught my eye. I can't wait to read more. Your children are precious.

Hello all. Well, I'm just on a trip reporting roll today aren't I?:thumbsup2

Ok, so after we all had the obligatory taste of the Beverly, we decided to split up (splitting up is KEY when trying to enjoy a Grand Gathering. Trust) Anyway, one family wanted to go to Test Track, the other back to MK, and we wanted to hang out in Epcot for the rest of the day so we all went our seperate ways, planning to meet up again later for dinner at Cape May. Soooooo, my family and I headed over to Innoventions. I love this place. There is so much for the kids to do and it's educational too! Here is Brendan checking out the fire truck...

091.jpg

And Aubrey playing with these cool velcro thingys that they had. It was really neat. You could build whatever you wanted and they were your's to take - for FREE!

094.jpg

After that, we decided we had earned our parental right to an adult beverage:drinking1 We headed over to Mexico for lunch at the QS there and one of those triple layer margaritas!! YUM!!!! We were having such a good time. And churros, ahhhhh the churros...

098.jpg

101.jpg

SOOOOOOOO good!

Alright, I need to backtrack a bit. I skipped some pictures. Sorry:rolleyes1 I knew I had uploaded a pic of Aubrey waiting in line at Soarin'. Here she is...

114.jpg

And we also stopped at Pixie Hollow right before the world showcase. They had this garden set up with all of the fairies and where they live and what flowers they love. It was really neat...

134.jpg

It must have been something to do with the Flower and Garden fest. Very cool. They also had a butterfly garden set up. Don't know if you can really see anything in these but here ya go...

118.jpg

121.jpg

Ok, so back to the world showcase...

After we ate our lunch, we sat on the bench right outside of the Mexico pavillion for the longest time enjoying our margaritas. We got the kids an icee and they sat there taking it all in too. It's so fun to people watch at Disney! About that time, my sister met up with us. We planned on showing them around the world:) We headed over to Maelstrom. This was a fun ride that we could all do together and the wait wasn't long at all. Here's a pic of some of us in line...

168.jpg

(Too many pics. Must go to next post...)

After that, we headed over to Voices of Liberty - an ABSOLUTE must for us on each trip. I was worried that this wouldn't be my sister's "thing" but she ended up with tears in her eyes. They're amazing!

138.jpg

After VOL, time for another adult beverage...

140.jpg

Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. Yummo! We got these just in time to sit back and watch ...

144.jpg

Along the way, we picked up a few snow cones for the kids. Red snow cones. My favorite. (insert sarcasm here). Messy but they sure were refreshing!

150.jpg

After this, we just kind of wandered around the countries taking it all in. Who says you can't enjoy Epcot with kids???? They all loved it and we had a blast. I guess the two beverages helped with that though:rotfl: Here is Aubrey trying her hand at some African drums...

165.jpg

And my little Brendan checking out the village near Canada. I LOVE this picture because from this perspective, he looks like a giant about to stomp all over the small town! :rotfl:

156.jpg

Ok, so it was now time to walk over to the Beach Club for dinner. We stayed there on our last trip in September and we just had to show the place off to everyone. If you ever have the opportunity to splurge and stay here, DO IT! It is the most beautiful place I have ever been. We walked over and met up with my other sister. 13 of us total!!! What a meal!! It was great, but a bit crazy. The kids were beyond tired and I was pretty beat too. It had been a long day. I decided to take our two kids out to the beach. Look what was there waiting for me...

173.jpg

Can you see the rainbow?? Very cool. I took like 40 pictures of it:rotfl:
As I'm standing there enjoying the beautiful scenery, look who comes up behind me...

179.jpg

Is this not the cutest thing you've ever seen?? They just waddled right on past everyone into the water. The kids got a big kick out of this...

189.jpg

Wow, it was a LONG day and we were ready to head back to our room. We had such a good time with our family. We all said our goodbyes and went our seperate ways. Brendan was asleep before we got home. I mean, REALLY asleep. So much so that we just changed his diaper and let him sleep in his clothes...

197.jpg

The rest of us were not far behind him. It was off to dream land for us. More exciting memories to come!!!

Just found your trip report and I am subbing! I can't wait to hear about how you got through WDW with no meltdowns..we saw so many there!

HAHAH! We've seen many too on our trips. I guess we were just lucky. And my children respond well to threats:rotfl2: I kid, I kid. Thanks for reading along:thumbsup2

Hi there! Thanks for joining in! If you want the real nitty gritty on what it's like to be at Disney with a 2 and a 1 year old, read my last report. It was very hard but wonderful. I would do it again in heartbeat!

Hello again everyone. Hope all of you are doing well!

Ok, so we're onto day 3 - Magic Kingdom. This was the day that we were planning wearing our Disney shirts. I spent hours upon hours making a shirt for everyone and it sure paid off. They came out really cute. Here's the graphic...

0aGrand.jpg

We woke up bright and early and headed over to Crystal Palace for breakfast. I was really looking forward to this for a few reasons. First, we had NEVER eaten here before:scared1: Can you believe it!!! And, our ressie was for before the park opened so I wanted to get some good pics on an empty main street with. Well, this didn't happen quite like I had planned. We were out to the bus stop with plenty of time to spare. Only problem was, it took almost 20 minutes for the MK bus to come!!!!! I noticed that the buses were really slow this past trip. I know Disney has been hurting. I wonder if they have cut back on the bus drivers??? Anyway, we ended up getting to the park right before it opened so I had maybe 5 minutes of an empty main street. Oh well.

Ok, so we made our way over to CP and my sister, BIL, and their 2 girls were there waiting for us. My other sister was having breakfast at the castle this morning so we were on our own. Here is a pic of some of us waiting. Check out our cool shirts...

011.jpg

What a beautiful place this restaurant is. And the food was to die for!!! We had such a good time. And here come the characters...

018.jpg

Can you tell Aubrey was excited!

023.jpg

Brendan was being so shy...

024-1.jpg

Ok, this was funny. Brendan shoved an entire piece of bacon in his mouth just as Piglet walked out. Ok, maybe you had to be there. We all died laughing at the table!

Here he is inhaling the bacon and Jason attempting to keep him from choking...
027.jpg

Brendan and Piglet "Hmmmm, you look delicious!"...

039-1.jpg

And Tigger...

029.jpg

I was really trying hard to get into more pics on this trip so I asked Jason to take our picture. Well, it turned out pretty cute. Too bad it's blurry. Thanks honey:rolleyes:

Stay tuned... more to come:)

I'm loving your review! I'm very interested in hearing how you do with small children because I'm taking my DD, DSIL and DGS (who will be 2 1/2) next year. I can't wait, but I am a little worried about how he will do.

Terri

I'm enjoying your TR!
We have the "bear" backpack for my DS. He will be 2.5 when we go back in Nov. Do you think I should still bring it or will he be too old? We really found this helpful in the airports!

Love your shirts! I am in a toss up between doing cape may cafe and crystal palace for a character breakfast...no kids..me and my mom, aunt and friend..girls only trip and we want to say hi to some characters! What did you think about CP?

I am really enjoying your TR! Your kids are adorable! Cannot wait for the next installment!

I think 2 1/2 is a good age to go. We took our kids when DS was 18 months and then again on this trip when he was 2 (he turned 2 in March). The difference between the first trip and second with him was pretty big. He seemed to really "get it" this time around. Good luck! Sounds like you have a fun trip planned:banana:

Again I will reiterate how much we LOVE the monkey!!!:lmao: It really was a life saver. I don't think 2.5 is too old. I mean, DS looks like he's 3.5 and we had no hesitation putting it on him. It's all about your sanity and of course safety. I say definitely use it. It's so nice to be able to give them a little bit of freedom instead of having to keep them strapped in the stroller at all times. And it's especially nice in those areas that strollers are not allowed ie: The Land, long lines... For the airport, we gate checked the stroller so we could strap them in as soon as we got off the plane! Can you tell that I have very, ahem, active kids??:rotfl:

Love your shirts! I am in a toss up between doing cape may cafe and crystal palace for a character breakfast...no kids..me and my mom, aunt and friend..girls only trip and we want to say hi to some characters! What did you think about CP?

Let's see. Well, I have not done the Cape May breakfast but I know they have the classic characters there.. Minnie, Mickey, Pluto... And at CP it's only the gang from Winnie The Pooh. I loved CP because the restaurant itself is beautiful and it's in the heart of MK. BUT, I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the beach club and any excuse to go and visit is a good one. I'd say that the food is pretty much the same at each for breakfast. Just depends on where you want to start your day. You could schedule an early meal at either and either get into the park early for CP or get an early start in Epcot for CM - you can walk there from the Beach Club. CP is definitely the most popular out of the two. Good luck deciding. So much to choose from!!!

I am really enjoying your TR! Your kids are adorable! Cannot wait for the next installment!

Hi and thanks! I'm glad you've joined in. I hope to do another installment during nap time today even though I should be cleaning my house:rolleyes1 Oh well, DH will understand:love:

Laura,

I meant to congratulate you earlier on the -17lbs!!! That's awesome. Losing weight is SO hard, especially in South Louisiana! I made a really good, really healthy jambalya last night. Always trying to find ways to make bad dishes good:lmao: Keep up the good work!:woohoo:
