A trip to WDW w/NO kids? Hubba Hubba! Wink Wink! UPDATE: EXTRA, EXTRA!!! Pg 158

Current update:

I tried to get a later time on our Sci Fi reservation, and also asked about 50's Prime Cafe for that same day--however, both were booked. I will keep trying.

I keep trying to get Kona instead of Spoodles. But it's also booked. They had 9:05 available last time I tried, but there's no way we're eating that late. I'll keep trying some more for that one.

California Grill continues to be booked for Sept. 16, so it looks like we may be keeping our 5:40 reservation there. Again, I'll keep checking on this one, too.

And of course, as I already mentioned, I got an 11:40 ADR for Le Cellier on Sept. 18th. I talked to Mike about it and he said it sounds good, so I will probably be cancelling our Les Chefs de France dinner ADR soon. Instead of counter service for lunch, we'll eat counter service for dinner, probably somewhere in the WS. (OR---I'll keep trying to change our lunch to a dinner so I can get the Mushroom Filet...sounds SO yummy!)

If only I wasn't so darn indecisive, I wouldn't have to worry about all of this. But I can't help myself!

Also, I've been trying to order my customized maps for weeks now, and it NEVER works. Sometimes it won't pull up the map page, and others (like today) it's a big tease and lets me get ALL the way to the ordering page to click "order maps" and then gives me this error:
error.jpg

Still need to book our flight....
I just checked, and all the options that we want are still there, just a small variance in price (and still MUCH lower than the original cost when I first looked at them). I will let y'all know when we book it. We're RISKTAKERS!! :woohoo:

UPDATED: Almost forgot a VERY important update---Our vacation is officially paid off! :woohoo:

NEXT: UPDATE: Sci-Fi ADR change

Note to self: Unsubscribe from DM's report.

muhahahahaha :rotfl2:
Hmm...should I give you another one of tips? Gee...I don't know now.

About the custom maps. You can order them every 6 months. I ordered them before our trip and now I have to wait to order them again. But, I wished I had waited because, while they are really nice, there is just a lot of info on them. I am going to reorder them once the 6-month mark hits and then customize them as to only put down what exactly we went on, dined, etc. That way it will be an even better keepsake of our vacation!

:rotfl2: Ok, you take your comment back and I'll take back mine..........

Actually I was just coming back here to say...

I placed my map order!! Woohoo! :woohoo:

I decided to fiddle with the internet options (on my work computer--hey, it's lunch time and I'll DIS if I want to ;) )
...I changed the privacy to low and tried ordering again...and it worked! (and I changed it back when I was done)

Glad I'm keeping you entertained!

Uhh...nope....yeah..MEN! I'm a little worried...but trying NOT to be. By the way I told him about my bad dream and he told me I was nuts. LOL

Despite opposition from Mike, I've officially decided that I'm going to plan a meeting (possibly lunch) with Grandpa and my cousins(distant cousins) from Philly, and hopefully I'll get a good story out of it!

We might be going to Disney again in December for a few days and staying with my Bil.,

Well, we won't have the money to book anything until first weekend of Nov and it is driving me nuts.

cause if I had it now, I would have booked my air by now....59 one way using Southwest and 89 comng home.....so cheap, you can't beat it!!

it is killing me, I can't do it yet. I am hoping I will still be able to get a good airfare deal in November.....

Oh, good...you are arranging for a granpa visit...Looking forward to more stories:rotfl2:

I see you have distant cousins in Philly...My hubby grew up in South Philly.

BTW..Remeber the story were you said Granpa was going to take a 24 hr roadtrip with you guys to see the resort in Florida, where was that from?
Did you used to live in NJ? I know it is like 21 hrs from here to there...was just curius:goodvibes

I think I saw you are from Louisiana now. My mom is living there right now. Her DH works for Federal Prisons and every 3-4 years they have to move and they have about a year left in Louisiana. She lives in Dry Prong...I think that is like an hr from Alexandria....:goodvibes

You *might* be going? What's holdin' ya back? I understand about not being able to purchase til airfare til then...I think you'll be ok though. Mike's thing is he doesn't want to spend the money until we ABSOLUTELY have to...since we just paid off the rest of the vacation, he wants to wait to book the airfare so we can spread it out a little. I can understand that. It's hard spending SO much money at once.

My mom grew up in Philly...also lived in Maryland for a little while, not sure what area. I've only been there once, but I was very little.

I have lived in Louisiana all my life. It would have been a 24 hour drive TOTAL---12 hours there, and 12 hours back. The speed limit was 60 mph back then. It only takes about 10 hours now (driving 10 mph over speed limit)--although Dad got us lost last time  when we were near the turnpike so I'm not quite positive.

Never heard of Dry Prong, but I do know where Alexandria is (3 hours from me)

The Disney Dining people are probably going to have my number blocked soon. LOL I have been calling and calling.

I finally got one thing I wanted...

A later time for Sci Fi Dine-in. If anyone wants a 4:05 ADR on Sept 17, better call quick!!

We now will be dining at 5:15. Much better...leaves more time for an afternoon break if we decide that we need one. I asked about Sci Fi and 50's Prime Time the last few times I called, and neither of them would have anything open. This time Sci Fi had that opening, but 50's Prime Time still had nothing. I think I'm done changing that one---and we'll just try 50's Prime Time on our NEXT trip after this one.
I hope we get to sit in the front of the car! What are our chances?

NEXT:Oh happy day! (Sunshine Rewards gift card arrives!)

A lightbulb went off in my head, and I thought of another story that I should share with all of you, a story that helps to shape who my Grandpa really is...and further proves he is a nutcase.

:woohoo: your  went off while posting on My Report!!!!

Here goes.

Alright, how should I say this? Well, to start, my Grandpa LOVES to drive. I don’t understand it, but he has ALWAYS loved driving. He also loves DQ (as in Dairy Queen, not DisneyQuest). And of COURSE he loves Walt Disney World. Mom told me that he used to drive 2 hours just to get to the nearest Dairy Queen (for their ice cream).

DQ & WDW can't be to bad A guy!!!:cool1:

and on the way back, as we’re being tortured with gospel music--or “church music” as we’d call it—he said “Do youse girls[that’s really how he speaks] want to drive up to Disney World to see where we’re staying?” We silently scratched our heads, and my cousin piped up “What do you mean?” He said, “We’ll drive there and see what our resort looks like, and then we’ll come back” When we both screamed “Are you NUTS?! We’re not driving to Disney just to come right back! We won’t go there unless we are staying for at least a week!”
And let me tell you, he was DEAD serious. We were both scared that he was going to take us on the 24 hour escapade anyway. But thankfully we were brought safely back to our parents, told them the story and they thought he was nuts, too! I think he went later that week by himself just to take a drive. I don’t remember where we were staying that year, but I doubt it was that special that it would be worth a trip there and back in one day.

& what's wrong with a little road trip it would have been Funn!!!!:rolleyes1

:sad2:

My mil is paying for us to go and visit her son, my bil, who lives near Disney. She can't give us to the money until first weekend in November. Her husband is retired, something to do with his retirement fund or something...Not sure:confused3

Oh okay...I get it 12 hrs each way, that makes more sense to me...I am slow sometimes...:rotfl2:

ok I'll send YOU with him next time. You'll be SO excited pulling up to the World...and then he'll turn back around! :sad2:

Isn't that the best. But, is it really paid off? I'm thinking no...think about all the stuff you'll probably buy down there!!!!

Honestly I don't buy that much at WDW...and really am trying to keep a budget this time even more so. And if you wait around for my next post I have some good news related to this!

I came home from work today to find......

MY VERY FIRST $25 DISNEY GIFT CARD! :woohoo:

I LOVE Sunshine Rewards! (Thanks Lesley!) I have to admit, I doubted in the beginning...but not anymore! I'm on my way to another $25..actually I'm hoping to get $50 before my trip. I signed up for Blockbuster.com (which I had been wanting to do anyway, and what better time but now) and got 26 points!! Actually...it takes a while for those to credit so I'm still waiting...but it does show on my pending list.

I highly recommend this site to everyone.....I could go on and on about it, but I'm going to stop here and say if you want to know more, just pm me.
(I must admit I'm a little addicted  but it's hard not to get addicted to something that earns me $$$ to spend at WDW! )

Also, I've slowly been earning points on my Disney Rewards Visa and I even used it for part of the vacation. I really want that Disney Rewards card, but I haven't made it to $20 yet! When I first got the card, I transferred a balance from another card  so I tried not to use it on purchases for a while. (You don't get points from transfers, just purchases)
Oh hey if anyone wants to sign up for one(it's through Chase), let me know...I can give you my # for the card referral. LOL Then I would get enough points. :thumbsup2

I forgot to say this earlier....but my PTR made it to page 10!!!!! Wowzers!

NEXT: UPDATE: Random things

I also wanted to say that I had dinner...err..breakfast:confused:...tonight at IHOP. And I saved a piece of bacon if anyone wants it!!! First come, first served!

Oh, if anyone would like an update on the Epcot wand removal...see this thread:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1512515&page=20

I've been keeping up with it for a while, and they have some pretty good updated pictures.

By the way...

47 days!!!!!!! :woohoo:  :woohoo:
