A trip to WDW w/NO kids? Hubba Hubba! Wink Wink! UPDATE: EXTRA, EXTRA!!! Pg 158

Now at this point I think I should make it clear that it is your moral imperative to go to a custom t-shirt shop and get a Disney shirt done up with the caption "I don't want to bounce in a honeypot" and make your DH wear it at WDW ;)

The tension finally lifts in the thread when it is announced that the flight has finally been booked :cheer2:  :dance3:  :cheer2:

Trentmom's 2-page pictorial alphabet-themed thread count booster to get back within striking distance of Leger13 & Disneydad99 - AKA Cheri leaves for shower and DISfriends run amok :rotfl2:

The 900 Post mark is reached and we brace ourselves as you head to 1000! :woohoo:

Whew! Great trippie, glad to finally be caught up ...I don't dare fall behind as quick as these things go!

Ok guys - I'm back from Ozzfest. Anyway I'm still sick in my stomach from all the :drinking1, the funky smelling sweaty people (me probably being one of them), and the contact buzz that I may or may not have had by the end of the night. I come back here and what do I find????

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am glad you got your tickets before the price went up but you were still freaking me out by waiting so long!

Sorry! :confused3

Yay, I did it! I can see how you've made it over the 900 post mark ;)

Okeydoke - recap from 46 pages of fun :D

You spoke about getting new, shiny pennies for the penny presses. I have it on good authority that the newer ones (anything minted after 1982) is basically all zinc and will create a smudged look on the imprint. If you can wrangle pre-1982 pennies they turn out a lot cleaner. Oh, and it has been said that if you hit every machine and get all of the designs from each, it will cost you around $2,000. That's a LOT of change!

Love the pics you posted, y'all look like a great couple, the pics of your cousin's son with the characters were cool too. And very cute doggies. Great family pic on the 'embarrasments' post and I've sooo been in the "thermostat wars" with family members before - lol. Gotta love "adventures with grandma" - BACON!!! We're going with both my mom and my mother-in-law, both of whom are 65+ and will will be in scooters

Your itinerary looks great, very well planned out …and yes, there's never enough time :P 2 questions, is the Flame Tree BBQ traditional bbq or does it have a cultural theme? And have you watched Wishes from the California Grill before/is it a good spot to do so?

Very cool new about the IRS refund check btw - I love it when the government screws-up in reverse.

And now the rest will be presented in snippets to follow the overriding theme of all threads. That's right, it's time to inflate my post count!!!!

Actually I read about the penny thing, but all ours from last year came out really good. So we figured we'd get new ones again. And just so you know we don't plan on hitting all the machines. But it does give Mike an incentive to return over and over until he does collect them all (why does this remind me of Pokemon? :rotfl: )

Thank you for all the compliments. Flame Tree BBQ is nothing cultural...it's just a quick service restaurant that I find very different from the rest of the restaurants in WDW.

This will be our first time watching Wishes from the balcony at California Grill. I will let ya know! :thumbsup2

I like all your snippets! I'll comment on some...

The nightmare of the lost cell phone? :scared1:

Yes, VERY SCARY! Then I dreamed I was in a mental institution a couple nights ago (and trying to convince everyone I wasn't crazy) :rotfl:

Tiny frogs - ribbit! Now go wash your hands ;)

I did.

No problem ....and I'm still trying to get up the nerve to brave catching up on your pre-trip btw ;)

oh his is a doozy!

I really have to get on the ball with the food reservations, it seems like you wrestled with yours quite a bit. We're planning on doing counter service for lunches and breakfasts are provided by the resort we're staying at ;) But there is still those dinners...

yeah just be persistent about it if you don't get what you want the first try! :thumbsup2

Congrats on the good eval at work :thumbsup2 :cool1: :thumbsup2

thanks!

Google Image results on random words …..slinky wins the show!

yup...the Slinky dog was so funny!

Now at this point I think I should make it clear that it is your moral imperative to go to a custom t-shirt shop and get a Disney shirt done up with the caption "I don't want to bounce in a honeypot" and make your DH wear it at WDW ;)

okay that is too funny! He'd kill me!

The tension finally lifts in the thread when it is announced that the flight has finally been booked :cheer2:  :dance3:  :cheer2:

hehehe

Grandma returns and trades in the bacon for pink socks

she ALWAYS does that. More stories to come!

The 900 Post mark is reached and we brace ourselves as you head to 1000! :woohoo:

Great job catching up and thanks for all the great replies!

:rotfl2: sorry, I didn't do it!! Hope you had fun though!

No problem ....and I'm still trying to get up the nerve to brave catching up on your pre-trip btw ;)

It is a tough decision......Spend time with others...eat ....DIS....Sleep .....Work.....

Or Read Disneydad's Thread!!!!

:lmao:

Sept. 15 - YAY WE’RE GOIN’ TO DISNEY!!
-Wake up at about 6 AM (unless of course I am “too excited to sleep” and end up waking up earlier)
-Get ready and pack up remaining items in car (will probably put main suitcases in the car the previous night and keep our toiletries and carry-ons inside until this morning)
-Kiss the doggies goodbye
-Leave the house by 6:50 AM
-Arrive at my parents’ house by 7:30 AM to pick up my Dad (and grab a cup of coffee :coffee: )
-Probably drive my car so that we don’t have to transfer all the luggage---and head to the New Orleans airport.
-Arrive at New Orleans airport between 8:15 and 8:30
-Plane departs at 9:55 AM
-Arrive at 12:50 PM Disney time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-Take the ME to All Star Sports Resort
-Leave our carry-on bags at the desk
-If we’re starving and can’t wait, we’ll grab a bite to eat at the resort. If not we’ll head to our first destination! (after all, we probably won’t be able to check in—unless our room just HAPPENS to be ready 2 hours early)
-Maybe play mini golf? Maybe go to DTD/DisneyQuest? Maybe go to Magic Kingdom to get our first dose of real Disney magic! I really am not sure yet. And Mike is no help. He said “whatever you want to do” I know most people would LOVE to hear that, but I’ve already planned this whole thing out and I’d love him to at least have some input into the planning. It’s hard to decide what to do when we get there!
-If we go to DTD, which will probably end up happening, we might run into Leger13 and her DH, but we won’t say anything because she’ll be with her friends.
Maybe catch the early show at the Comedy Club at 7 PM (if we have the energy). I hear it’s very funny, and I LOVE all comedy, especially IMPROV!
-Go back to the hotel whenever we feel like we’ve had enough and get some sleep.

Sept. 21 THE SADDEST DAY (BUT we get almost a whole day!)
-We have a nice long day to do whatever we want! Probably hit our favorite rides and attractions once more before we have to leave our magic World!
-Of course the first thing we’ll need to do is bring our luggage down EARLY in the morning, and leave our carry-ons at the resort, too. Then we’re off to enjoy our last day!
-Possible DIS meet! Disneydad really wants to meet me like I'm a celebrity or something, so I'll bring my picture to autograph it for him! ;)
-We’ll have to be back at the hotel around 4:30ish? to take the ME bus back to the airport.
-So I guess we’ll have an early dinner before we go (maybe at World Showcase again!) or end up eating at the airport. We’ll play it by ear.

And the 18th's itinerary didn't change much...just that we're meeting Leger13 and her DH at 7:30. I think I had said that we wanted to be there a half hour before the EMH opening anyway...I'll check on that tomorrow.
We still have our Le Cellier lunch and I've been calling and calling trying to get a dinner, so the plan is still TS lunch, CS dinner.

I'm so excited to have been able to plan out our first and last days with TIMES and everything! I think the thing that freaks me out the most (in a good way) is that I'll be on a plane for less than 2 hours, and then in Orlando! It will only be my second time flying. We've always always driven that 10 hour drive to Disney--and I imagine if I go with my parents again (and I'm sure I will) I will be making that drive again sometime in the future. Now I'm going to be spoiled from this plane ride and the drive will probably seem a lot worse! But anywho, I get to go to Disney on a plane and be arrive during the DAY! How freaking cool is that?! :woohoo:

Up next....Clowns and pink socks...and Christmas!

NEXT:Another Grandma Saga (minus the bacon)

your itenerary's for the first and last days sound awesome. And if you DO run into me and my friends at DTD you better say hi!! They won't care. And if they do, they can shove it up their noses with a rubber hose! you could always treck over to Pleasure Island with us. The more the merrier. I'll need someone to toss a few :drinking1 back with. :thumbsup2

:yay: for DIS meet on the 18th!! :yay: Still can't wait. Did you get my email!?

You'll be fine on the airplane. Just bring a good book or something. I LOVE to fly but DH hates it. I almost convinced him to fly this time but he thought it was too expensive. :confused3 excuses excuses. Maybe one of these days I'll convince him to go for it.

oh! And I forgot to mention that my DH is being the exact same way Mike is being about what to do down in WDW. mine is making me do all the work. Every time I ask him what he wants he just says "whatever you decide on is fine". He's just along for the ride. Ugh! :headache: I love to do the planning but a few inputs from his end are nice every once in a while! Especially when I ask for them! :headache: So, I totally understand your frustration.

Well belive it or not, I'm in the same boat ......except it is my whole family that is saying "whatever works for you, we'll be fine with"

Ugh! That would drive me insane. With just one other person to plan for it's not such a big deal...but more than that, I don't think I could handle it.

Ugh! That would drive me insane. With just one other person to plan for it's not such a big deal...but more than that, I don't think I could handle it.

That's why I started planning a year ago ...hehehe

And yes, I love gathering info and planning stuff (I even built a website around it :lmao:) , so for me it is an escape from the stress of my job. Everyone in my fam procrastinates horribly and DW's family are all about what can go wrong.

Probably a good thing they aren't directly involved ;)

I found my ADRs!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's my list:

Sat. 9/15 LTT - Dinner 6:30
Sun. 9/16 50's Prime Time Cafe - Dinner 6:35
Mon. 9/17 Akershus Banquet Hall - Dinner 8:05
Tues. 9/18 Planet Hollywood - Dinner 6:30
Wed. 9/19 CRT - Lunch - 12:30
Fri. 9/21 Chef Mickey's - Dinner 8:00

Somebody please tell me Akershus is good. That's the one I'm worried about. I've never been there. I originally had ressies at the Grand Floridian Cafe, but my son didn't like their menu, so I changed it. Anybody know anything??
