Hey guys, in this lean economic time, with families struggling to make ends meet, and many of us having to put our Disney Addictions on the back burner, I was really uplifted by reading this trip report.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2596911

It is written by MomofsixinSC who was teased and taunted this past summer by posters on the budget board and elsewhere for inquiring about the best way for a family of 8 to tour WDW on a budget of less than $300. She had one day GAD tickets and had lots of questions about touring WDW OUTSIDE of the parks. She was quickly embraced by the Camping Boards and was able to have a great time at Fort Wilderness, as well as touring the other resorts.

Many of us go multiple times a year, and we forget that for many families a WDW vacation is simply out of reach. These kids were thrilled just to get to do the free stuff that our kids take for granted. I was just so happy for this family.

I agree - What a wonderful trip report. It looks like they had a great time! it sure made me homesick for the Fort though! ;)

I remember when that whole mess went down. I'm glad she had a great time despite what the budget board told her.

Sayhello

OK, that was incredible. And a HUGE reality check.

It seems like they had an awesome vacation. They made me want to stay at Ft. Wilderness soon, although maybe not on a hammock.

Yikes! I just read the original thread on the Budget Boards. :scared1:

I guess I haven't been around long enough to see things get so nasty.:confused3

I am so glad they were able to go and have a great trip. What a great looking family. Those kids will remember this trip forever. Good for them! :thumbsup2

It made me smile, too- what a nice family- :goodvibes

WHere is the orginial thread on the budget board?? I'm just confused as to what's goin on and why people were being mean to her:confused3

I couldn't find the Budget Board replies but did read the positive comments on the Camping boards.

The podcast team talks about how people think their vacation is a bust if they don't get certain dining reservations, towel animals, etc. :snooty:

MomofsixinSC trip report highlights the other touring options that are less costly (free). Everybody has different expectations, they made it work and good for them. Glad there were positive comments to help their vacation planning. :yay:

Can't wait to read. Thx for posting it! Sounds like a great story. Off to read it!

It was a great TR too! :thumbsup2
