I've got 2 weeks to spit this thing out. Why? You ask. Because I leave for my next trip in 16 days.

This TR is from my 2011 trip, I had every intention of writing a TR but I enrolled in school and for 2 years I had no life. But now I have graduated and I have some time to kill, I am so excited for this trip but first I need to finish the last one. For me a Disney trip isn't complete until the trip report has been written, it's not going to be a hugely detailed report cause like I said I want to finish this in 2 weeks, so without any further delay, here goes....

It started out as a sisters trip but we invited our mom to go with us, then a few months before our departure I invited my best friend from work, even numbers always seem to work better on trips like this.

Introductions

Me: Traci, or Ty, I answer to both,

I just got my associates degree in medical assisting, I also got my phlebotomy certification, I work at Bed, Bath and Beyond still while I shop my resume around town. My Disney addiction happened in 2006 and I do my best to feed it.

My sister: Bo, or Chele, Michele, Chelbell, Chebo, pick one, or two.

This would be my sisters first time going to WDW, it only took me 5 years to convince her to go.
This picture was taken at one of our Disney practices. Yes, we held Disney practice quite often, it wasn't easy since she lives in Michigan, but I flew out there once, she flew to Pa once and then the rest were done on the phone, usually in a conference call with....

My work BFF: Ally, or Kazam, or buttcheek, our manager at the store said we were inseperable, like buttcheeks, so that's how that name came to be.

A Disney practice picture, Ally had been to Disney with her family when she was a child, but....they did it wrong. I needed her to experience Disney the way it's supposed to be experienced.

And last, but definitely not the least, nope, I saved the best for last...
Mom, Mommy, Mama, Maw, or Pixie.

This too was a Disney practice, we all know Disney has great food, we needed to practice our reaction to good eats. This would be mom's second trip to Disney with me.

our trip would take place roughly the second week of December, we would be there over my birthday. The week before a Disney trip is always the most exciting for me, all the last minute purchases. I actually prefer to work the day before a trip, the time goes by faster. Ally and I were both scheduled that day although I got off 2 hours earlier than her, so I met a friend for dinner and hung out in town until Ally got off work then we went to her house to pick up her bags and drop of her car. She hadn't even packed yet. Me, on the other hand had been packed for over a week. She was a Disney newbie so I cut her some slack.

Sidenote:Everybody has that one crazy friend who isn't afraid to try new stuff or make a total fool of yourself just for laughs. Ally is that friend in my life. The escapades leading up to this trip were countless. one of those escapades was kidnapping Guenther. Guenther is actually a woody doll that Joe and Rob from receiving kept as their mascot. We thought it would be funny to take Guenther to Disney with us, have his picture taken all around WDW then leave the pictures on Rob and Joes desk after our return.

A week before our trip while the boys were on lunch break, Ally and I snuck back to receiving and grabbed Guenther. By the end of the day Rob was all shades of mad that Guenther went missing, the next day there was even a note in the break room about the missing Guenther offering a reward for his safe return, everyday another note would be posted.

back to the night before Disney.
Neither one of us could sleep, we stayed up talking till 3:00am then started getting ready to leave for the airport, we figured we could sleep on the plane.

The ride to BWI was uneventful, so was check in. I was snapping pictures left and right, however, you will not see these pictures because I lost my memory card, you will see some pictures that Ally took, but since I was the main camera person there's not tons of pictures, I still kick myself over that, 800 pictures....gone!

Anyway Guenther was pretty excited

We loaded onto the plane and settled in for our 90 minute flight to Florida

It was Guenthers first time flying so naturally I had to let him look out the window.

Ally slept for about an hour, I was too excited, even though I had been awake for over 24 hours I didn't feel tired at all, I was running on Disney adrenalin.
We landed in Fl. a few minutes ahead of time that gave us plenty of time to freshen up before heading over to meet mom and Bo, their flight was scheduled to come in 15 minutes after ours and when we checked their flight number on the board we discovered that the gate they were coming in at was right next to the one we came into. Perfect.
Mom and chels were the last ones to disembark the plane, I'm sure it was because of the wheelchair. Mom doesn't need a wheelchair in daily life, but we knew she wouldn't be able to keep up with us in the parks so Bo brought a chair for her, sometimes mom used it, sometimes she didn't, it was nice having in the parks because we hung our park bags and jackets on it, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

Bo had already met Ally but Mom was meeting her for the first time, the thing with Ally is when you meet her there isn't any shy awkwardness, right away she and mom hit it off, I never had a worry, not with Ally.

So on down to Magical express and right on to the bus, we grabbed seats up front, I was busy snapping pictures that you will never get to see. I made the announcement, "Since this is Bo and Ally's first trip, I will take tons of pictures, you two can just relax and enjoy your time, I will capture the magical memories."

I always like to watch the welcome video, even though I have seen it scads of times, it's just the Disney thing to do.

We arrived at Pop Century in a blink, we were the first off the bus and as we headed in we were stopped by a CM who asked us what we were celebrating, we told him birthdays, and family, and 2 first timers. He loaded down with buttons. We then got in line for check in. The CM checking us in asked for my birthday button and wrote my name in Chinese, it was awesome, Bo then asked for the sharpie and added my age to the button. RUDE!
Our room was ready so we headed over to it, we were in the 80's section, super close to the bus stops. We dropped off our carry-ons and then headed to the bus to MK, we didn't bring the wheelchair, we figured it was early in the trip and mom would be fine.

There wasn't a line for the bus and we didn't have to wait long for one to show up, the weather was perfect when we stepped into MK, we were all hungry and since they all left me in charge of everything I just went with my tradition of eating at Pecos Bill for the first meal of the trip.
The food was yummy, I got my traditional pulled pork sandwich and carrot cake. Bo at the time was a vegetarian, so she probably got something meatless. We ate and then headed out for our first ride of the trip.

POTC. I didn't really pay too much attention on this ride, you know when you love something so much and you are introducing other people to it and you want them to love it just as much? That's what was going on with me, so I found myself watching Bo and Ally a lot. Bo always has a studious look on her face, Ally always looks like she's waiting for a surprise. I didn't want them to miss anything but I also didn't want to ruin there ride by pointing out everything I thought was cool, I knew there would be more pirate rides to come.

I love your TRs!

Congratulations on getting through school and good luck on the job hunt.

I love the "Ty" dyed Mickey hoodies! I want!

Can't wait to hear about your adventures. Please keep going on this TR:thumbsup2
