I somehow forgot that we did get to see the Muppets while we were at DHS. Don't recall exactly when, but we did. I want to say it was before dinner. I took craptastic notes.

After we took our break for the day, Jenn asked if we wanted to go to the pool. I don't swim anymore...gained WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY too much weight, but I went up there to check it out.

Here is a picture of Kayla that I took when we first got there:

DisneySept09Vol1153.jpg

Mom decided to go with me which was a bit funny. You see, Jack was in and out of the water like a little pro. The problem was that "the gramma" was all nervous because he didn't have on what she felt was an "appropriate" life vest. Never mind that his MOM was IN THE WATER! :rolleyes1

As you can see, first she decided to sit by the side of the pool...never mind that she can't swim or anything.

DisneySept09Vol1166.jpg

DisneySept09Vol1168.jpg

Notice how Jenn is IN the water and holding Jack who has on the little floaty ring thingy...... yeah, "the gramma" was still freaked.

DisneySept09Vol1169.jpg

Here is Kayla and Jack:

DisneySept09Vol1183.jpg

So, here is "the gramma" and after she went on her search. I had the flash off and was pretty far away because I didn't want her to yell at me for taking pictures. She would have thought that I was poking fun at her. :rolleyes1

:lmao: She was so darn funny. Mom doesn't venture off alone ANYWHERE...like not even to find a bathroom, for fear of getting lost. Um, you had to see her go when it came time to find the life jacket. So cute.

Here is Jenn and Jack...after the life jacket........

DisneySept09Vol1190.jpg

Jenn, I hope "the gramma" didn't make you crazy with all that!

I have to say that the pool at CRS is great. While I didn't get in it, I still think that it is one of the nicest that I have seen so far. The pool at CBR is also very nice in my opinion, but this one just seemed so homey. That's the only way I can describe it.

We spent some time at the pool and then walked back to the resort. It was a nice walk actually. Not too far from our room. The grounds of CSR are very pretty, especially at night.

I went back to the room to get "organized" as I call it. Seems that I am forever straightening the room, etc. I got out the next day's Mousekeeping envelope. I made them all up in advance and included the tip along with my laminated business sized thank you card for the CM. By the way...you should have seen the LOOT that they left each day (except for one day)! Woo hoo!!! Score!!!

I had started making a pile of stuff to take to UPS. We had already determined that we were going to need to do that. Before we went to bed I had taken a big bag and started to put things in it to send home.

Believe it or not it was only Monday and we had been there only three days and I was already starting to get bummed that vacation was going to be over soon. Nuts, isn't it?

Next up....Tusker House, DAK, and Kouzzina for dinner..

I think it depends on the time of year that you go. We did end up using our FP's though but there still wasn't a long wait. I want to say that the sign said 70 minutes when we used them but the queue didn't look anywhere close to that.

I'm not sure the hype is dying down though. I think it is all in what time of the year you visit and what the crowds are like. We were there at the end of May and it wasn't bad then either BUT the lines were WAY longer. I think this time that since the ride was down a lot of people just never made it back to check when it went back up again. If you get there at rope drop, and "briskly" make your way back there, I think you'll be fine. So far, it has worked for us every time, no matter what time of the year we go!

Beauty and the Best is my favorite.

Beauty and the Beast is my favourite too :goodvibes

So end of May is not that busy? Me and DF are pondering over September or during Flower & Garden Festival for our wedding.

Love the Halloween decorations, I want that Mickey Pumpkin :)

Bless "the gramma", so nice of her to go and find that lifevest :)

Love your Halloween decorations! I've been making some of my own, but school keeps getting in the way of me making more. *shakes fist*

That 1st pic of Jenn & Jack in the pool is uber cute, & I love Kayla's suit! That girl is stylin'! I think it's adorable your mom was worrying about the kids!

Ooooh Kouzzina! I still crave the lasagna (I know it's called something else, but I can't spell it before at least a full cup of coffee :surfweb:) DH didn't love his pork chop, but we chalked it up to the restaurant having only been opened a few days when we were there. I'm sure they've perfected their seasonings & such. Did you find the hidden mickey in the lobby??

I love your Mickey lights, so cool!

The pool at CSR really does look great. Sounds like you had a nice end to your day!

Denise

We hung up that exact same flag on Wednesday!

I got it last year. It's one of my favorites.

Beauty and the Beast is my favourite too :goodvibes

The end of May was not that bad crowd wise. The rain though was INCREDIBLE!

OOOhhh, wedding at Flower and Garden Festival time sounds awesome!

Yep, "the gramma" was determined!

I am still working on my decorations. Figured I'd start with phase I and work my way into phase II. Have to go to storage to get the rest of them.

I love that picture of Jenn and Jack. I agree, Kayla is quite stylin' .. all the time actually.

Kouzzina was one of our favorites. Mom wants to go back next year for sure. Sorry that your DH didn't like his pork chop. :sad2:

Denise

I got the Mickey lights at the Disney store on sale before we left. Joe got me two strands so I could use them in the windows at home. I also have two strands of Mickey pumpkin lights but no idea what to do with them yet.

The pool seemed great. Granted I don't get in them but it still looked like fun.

I love your Halloween decorations! I can't believe it's already October.

Today was DAK day. We woke up bright and early since we had an 8 a.m. ADR at Tusker House.

DisneySept09Vol2452.jpg

We arrived early and made our way back to Tusker. It was a terrible hair day. Very hot and humid! We had our group picture taken that morning. I think Kelly's mom ended up getting it. I actually don't even recall seeing it.

Historically this is one of my favorite breakfasts on property. We had a ressie for 12 of us and of course, we could not sit together. We had two tables behind each other. It was very, very loud in there for some reason. Our server was informative but not very attentive. He wanted to tell us how to do the park and took what felt like hours describing a touring plan....yeah, lots of luck getting any tea, coffee, or anything else out of him though.

DisneySept09Vol2484.jpg

There was great character interaction here though. It was sort of hard to take pictures. We had such a large group and 4 people were trying to get pictures.

After breakfast we took a potty break and then headed over to KS. We sat in the last row of the vehicle. OMG, talk about bounce! I felt like Tigger!

I really wanted to see the "big kitty" however ... no such luck!

I missed FotLK when we were there in May and I really wanted to see it. There was a show in 20 minutes (I think) so we made our way over.

DisneySept09Vol2777.jpg

DisneySept09Vol2780.jpg

DisneySept09Vol2977.jpg

I love this show. I think I enjoy it more than Nemo. I am going to make it a point to see it each and every trip. We were in the elephant section, I think.

After FotLK, Jenn and her family headed to Kali, I think. We headed over to ITTBAB.

OOOhhhh, it is time to go to mom's birthday dinner so I will continue this on the next post.....

Love your Halloween decor!!

What is the white liquid-like stuff on the plate at TH? Is that a gravey??

Happppy birthday to the gramma!! we loves you and miss you! Hope your dinner went awesomeee!

Love your halloween decor... i'm not decorating this year.. no one comes here anyway :(

I can't wait to see FOTLK! We've missed it every time, and this time we're doing it no matter what! We also have a Tusker House breakfast scheduled for our AK day, and your food pics really got me excited for it!

I hope I get to finish decorating before Halloween. ;)

It's actually vanilla sauce on top of bread pudding.

Dinner went great. My friend Kathy joined us. I've known her since we were 5. After dinner we came back here for cake and gave her the computer that we got her for her birthday. I thought she was going to cry. My brother, sister and I chipped in and got it for her. I will post pictures later.

Btw, Jack and Kayla are still the topic of conversation here. My mom was telling my brother about our trip last night. So cute........

Denise, I think you will love FotLK. There is NO way I am missing it again! It's awesome.

The food at Tusker is good but wow, it can get unorganized there, especially early in the morning when they first open. We normally make our ADR's first thing so that we can be in the park when it is empty but wow, that place get's crazy!!! I think you will love it though.

We headed toward ITTBAB. It was a walk walk on and the queue was actually empty for the most part. It's one of my favorites.

DisneySept09Vol21010-1.jpg

My nephew is NOT a fan of this attraction. He's been there a few times now, first time when he was 4. He FREAKED...and I mean FREAKED out in there. We found that he cannot tolerate 3-D at all. It's not that he doesn't like it, it is that he can't tolerate it. He was diagnosed ADHD when he was younger and the doctor's said that it's common. I can't even describe to you what it was like with him in there before we knew. Every time I go inside, I think of him. He's getting much better now but he still won't go inside...

After all of the creepy crawlies, we decided to do a little shopping. Mom still had not found the hoodie that she wanted to get my sister. In and out of the stores we went for a bit. I really wanted to have lunch at Flame Tree but everyone was getting over heated and Joe's pain was getting worse. I wondered to myself if this was going to be the first year that we'd see the inside of a Florida hospital.

We decided to go back to CSR which meant that another year would pass without me getting to see the Jammin Jungle parade. I think next year I have to revisit my plan for DAK. Maybe going there later would be better even though they close early. Dunno, but I want to see the parade!

As we were walking back to the car I took this picture. On the way in my camera lens was so foggy. That's one thing I hate about the drastic change in temperature.

DisneySept09Vol21013-1.jpg

We got back to CSR and everyone was hungry. Um, why couldn't they be hungry 30 minutes ago so I could have gone to Flame Tree?

We went to the Pepper Market again. It was just eh this time. Mom had a Cesar salad which was hilarious to watch the dude make. First, we waited for the person working there to show up. Took him around 10 minutes. No kidding. I didn't really care but sheesh, that was a pretty long time to wait. Mom asked for her salad and get this....he gave her lettuce and the dressing. That was it. I asked him if he was going to give her the cheese and croutons and he said that no, that's the Cesar salad. The lettuce and dressing. I'm like, um, no, it's not. So then he said, "oh yeah." Finally, she got the rest of her salad. What would have happened if we threw in a request for chicken too?

I had the fruit plate. I figured that I should at least attempt to eat semi-healthy for one meal of the trip, Joe had the ribs. I have to say, the fruit plate was awesome. Everything was at the point of being ripe to perfection without being over ripe, if that makes sense.

For dessert I got the strawberry cake (yep, so much for eating healthy for one meal.) It was yummy!

We went back int Panchitos to pick up the packages that we had sent to the resort from our trip to DTD. They filled the trunk, which made me laugh.

Once we got back to the room it was around 2 p.m. so I decided that I'd do some additional sorting for our trip to UPS and then I was going to do laundry. Mom said she'd come with me because she had some to do as well.

So, get this. It is $2 a load to wash, $2 a load to dry, $2 for the soap and a buck for a 2 pack of softener sheets. Holy crap!!!!!!!! I got a ton of change from the machine and started to do the wash. The wash cycle was pretty fast which was great. We moved our stuff to the dryers and that was when I noticed what my mom was washing. Her white load was 2 or three pair of socks and 3 pair of underwear! :scared1: I paid $4 for her to wash that!! Why didn't she put it in with my stuff?????? Her dark load was three pair of shorts I think and maybe 3 or 4 shirts. I wrote in my journal while we waited for the clothes to try and then took them back to our room. EVERYTHING at CSR looks the same so I ended up walking all over the place to find the room when I could have taken only 3 turns to get there. :headache:

When I got back to the room I asked Joe how he was feeling. We had dinner ADR's at Kouzzina and I was a bit freaked that we'd have to cancel. He was feeling fine...yay!!!!!!!!!!

Yes getting wed during F&GF would be so cool, just worried about crowd levels and the price, its more expensive around that time compared to September?

Tusker looks like fun, we had an ADR there last year, but the dreaded flu caught up to me and we had to cancel :( I see you had Jungle Juice? Is awesome isn't it (tried it at Boma).

DF wants to ride in the back on KS, it is really that bumpy?

Love that FotLK photo, is a great show, can't wait to see it again next year :D If you ever make it over to London you should check out the theatre show of it. Is really good.

Love the bug eyes pics :)

Looking forward to hearing about Kouzzina :)

I don't know the price difference is when it's Flower/Garden Festival time. I've been there at that time before but didn't notice any price difference.

Actually, I am not a jungle juice fan. Joe usually drinks mine and his. :lmao: I think I'm the only one that I know that doesn't care for it. :confused3

It was very bumpy in the last row on KS. We were bouncing all over the place. I was a tad bit worried about our camera. It's quite heavy, especially with one of the larger lenses on it and I was afraid it would just fly out of my hands. It didn't though which was a good thing.

I'd love to visit London some day. It looks like an amazing city.

I'm getting ready to write about Kouzzina now.

Off we went to the Boardwalk. Joe decided that he'd valet park this time. We have a TIW card and if you use that when you dine, you get free parking. We were planning on using a dining credit for Kouzzina so we didn't know if we'd be paying the $10 to valet or what. At this point Joe did not care. The pain was really bad this day. As an aside, we're calling the doctor this week to see if he will let him get another series of pain blocks. Not sure he will since the required amount of time since the last series has not passed.

Ok, back to the Boardwalk. We've never stayed at the Boardwalk before and hope to try it some day. The closest we've been is the Dolphin, which is a favorite of ours.

We were a bit early for our 5:20 ADR so we walked the board walk a bit and stopped at a couple of the shops. It was incredibly humid that day so we tried to go in and out as much as possible.

We were able to check in at 4:50. I love the lobby of the restaurant. They were just finishing up hanging pictures of Cat Cora's family. Being Greek myself I had a fun time reading all of the captions and seeing some of the places in Greece where her family is from.

DisneySept09Vol1210.jpg

DisneySept09Vol1214.jpg

We were seated fairly quickly and had a view of the kitchen which I really liked. They were just getting started for the evening so you heard a lot of "Oupa" ... hee hee, reminded me of my childhood.

DisneySept09Vol1215.jpg

We wanted to try EVERYTHING! Since that wasn't possible we poured over the menu and made our selections.

We all started with avgolemono soup, which is a family favorite. I have to say, I make a dang good avgolemono myself! This was outstanding! I wish I could have had 2 bowls of it.

DisneySept09Vol1217.jpg

Mom had the spanakopita too however she mowed it down before I could even take a picture!

DisneySept09Vol1216.jpg

Mom had the baked veggies which in our family we refer to as soufiko. Delicious!

DisneySept09Vol1218.jpg

Joe and I both had the pastitio (for my friend Beka....aka lasagna). It was incredible. Actually, Joe asked me if they had my dad back there cooking for them or something. :lmao: We LOVED it. The portions were huge though and there was no way we could finish what we had.

DisneySept09Vol1219.jpg

DisneySept09Vol1220.jpg

Next was dessert. Anyone that knows me knows that I LOVE loukoumathes. Every year I save up my calories around July so that I can eat a truck load of them at our church festival. For anyone that has never had them, you are missing something! These were good, however I prefer the ones from the festival. Joe had galakombouriko or as we refer to it "gotta let your booty grow" because this stuff will add POUNDS people!!!!!!!!

DisneySept09Vol1223.jpg

DisneySept09Vol1222.jpg

We ended up using the dining plan for this meal. When we went to get the car they just asked for our receipt and our TIW card...and gave us free parking! Score!!!

It was around 6:30 or so and Joe and mom wanted to go back to CSR so we did. I think we were in for the night since the following day was going to be a long one...........

I LOVE the looks of the boardwalk.. even though I don't live from the N.J. shore lol. Then again I love going to the boardwalk in NJ during the summer, so it makes sense I would like it in Disney!!

Also, Kouzina looks kinda yum... the desserts look to die for anyways LOL

OMG! BREAD PUDDING!!! I didn't know that was there! I'm so ready for that meal! Mom is going to be stoked; she loves bread pudding! (Please tell me it was good!)

Oh man; I think I gained 5lbs just looking at your pics of Kouzzina. Haha.

Are you guys watching the game tonight? I have a very unhappy DH with how they've been playing this season. I'm hoping they don't make more stupid mistakes tonight - ie no more dropping the ball in the endzone and missing field goals. D'oh!
