A Ton! Of reservations just opened up Nov-Dec!

I already had BOG and Chefs de France and just adj each by about 15 min based on the new availability. I really wanted those and will be very upset to lose them entirely.

I believe they removed tables to keep the capacity down, so every table taken does not equate to 100% capacity. The tables were probably distanced.

I saw pictures of 50s PT back in September. They did not remove tables; they just had them marked as not available. So, it was full with all of the crammed in tables like they have always had. Unless by some miracle, they removed tables in the last month.

Ugh. I should have known it was too good to be true. 🙄
So I will lose those ADRs and the ones I canceled? That will make me very upset considering there is zero availability now for a few days I will be there.

This royally screws over guests who already had a reservation booked before this, and only adjusted to a different time on the same day.

They lose their original reservation to make the new one, and the new one is going to get cancelled as well?

Ooof Disney is just absolutely killing it with guest recovery as of late/sarcasm

In a perfect world they would honor the new reservations...in a slightly less perfect world you would be reimbursed the $25 per person per reservation that was affected.

Is that rumored $25gc per guest account affected or per ADR?
I would 100% guess it’s per account. Disney isn’t going to be giving hundreds of dollars in gift cards. But even $25 is more than they had to give out. It’s a very nice gesture. They could have cancelled everything and chalked it up to IT issue, but the gift card goes a long way in the goodwill battle.

Our trip is not until December, so I hope they will not cancel it now and wait to see if there is enough space just through cancellations that people make on their own.

No they absolutely had to offer something. Especially for the people who had an already booked reservation for say California Grill on a Friday at 8:30PM, and then saw another one opened up at 6:30PM on the same day and they made the swap. Because of Disney's absolutely piss poor IT Department they are out their legitimate reservation and the one they thought they could adjust to.

$25 does nothing for me if I’m now left with 2 weeks worth of trips and almost no ADRs. Not to mention how many times I’ve already had to play this game and rebook dining this year.

So just to be clear, there’s no point in doing anything (like trying to get more ADRs) until they start cancelling our existing ones- right? I don’t want to make the situation worse, but I also need to start hunting for somewhere to eat Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks.

Dude... I am really upset because I modified several ressies to better times. I would be fine if they modify them back to the original times, but if I lose them all - I am screwed. I just went to see if I could find any other times and everything is obviously booked because my trip is <two weeks. I am okay if they cancel the brand new ressies I made, but I really need my originals!

These reports are from a blogger. No official word from Disney. Personally, I wouldn’t cancel anything based on that. But I might start looking for back up ADRs from a different account. You don’t have to actually list the guests names on the adr. So you could try to get some things just in case. Just what I would do.

DFB is NOT an official Disney site, as posted on their home page:
Disney Food Blog does not claim to represent the Walt Disney Company in any way and is not employed by or affiliated with The Walt Disney Company. For official Disney information, visit Disney directly.

So I wouldn’t do anything just from their page.

SAME! And I am nervous they will clear them all and I won't know it and then miss the boat to make new ones. JUST when I was starting to feel good about this trip...

This is what I’m thinking. I had promised myself I’d stop doing the backup account thing after I forgot to cancel one and it cost me $60. 😬

Yipes!! I don’t blame you then. You’ll have to keep good records if you do a backup account for sure.

similar for me. i adjusted a chef mickey's breakfast by 25 min earlier. Le Cellier by an hour and 25 mins later. i will be very upset if those all of a sudden disappear. and is the $25 gift cert for each cancelled reservation?
