I need to thank EVERYBODY for their excellent advice about the DVC.
We are at WDW about 2 times a year, and after bouncing around the resorts we've found the Boardwalk is our favorite. Our primary goal of a possible purchase was to have a 1 BR Villa in January for the Marathon, so if we did leap, we had to have a villa for next January 7 through 14, or the entire effort would have been wasted.
The advice I received was:
1. Buy where you want to stay,
2. Buying in the secondary market is okay, with a reputable re-seller,
3. Pay enough to get past ROFR, and
4. Once the closing documents are done, call member accounting in 4-5 business days after the close, to see if they have you in the system.
The end result of the excellent advice is today I was able to book that much desired 1 BR Boardwalk Villa for Friday Jan 7 2005 through Friday Jan 14 2005. Now all I need to do is concentrate on my training.
Without your respective experiences, this never would have happened.
Thanks
