A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

Great pictures, I cannot wait to see the rest.popcorn::

Good shot of Jill's shirt, She looks ready to ride the new Toy Story ride.

i just looked back and read this!

Brooklynn just keeps saying, "Big sissa!" when we ask her her secret. She has no idea what she's saying or what it means, but she humors us.

this is so cute!!! and the story about how she told trent and kristi just adorable. reminds me of when my sister (brooke) told me about my stepmom being pregnant with my little brother (brett). she was about two-and-a-half. i was nine. i came over to visit for the weekend and the first thing she starts screaming at me is "baby bodder, baby bodder!!!!!" i looked at my dad and said, "what is she saying?" i couldn't make it out! he told me to keep listening and try to figure it out. so finally after she said it about 50 times i screamed, "BABY BROTHER!!!!!!!!!!" i was SO excited! of course they didn't know he was a brother at the time, but that's what my dad taught her to say since he already had two girls and wanted a boy. the day he was born my dad was so happy he had a boy that he bought the entire hospital staff breakfast. :rotfl: brett was born on august 29th and i remember i had just started school - the fifth grade. it was a new school for me since you used to change schools like every two years in gallatin (it was ridiculous) and the principal was very scary to a 10-year-old. i was sitting at lunch and someone gave me a note that i needed to go to the principal's office. everyone at the lunch table did the "oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......she's in trouble" thing that kids always do. i was so scared going up to his office!!! then i came in and he said to me, "congratulations....your dad just called and informed me that you're the big sister to a new baby brother!" i was so happy i wasn't in trouble!

On the bus, Brooklynn gave us her Ha-ee-wood smile. It looked much like her Magic Camel smile.

IMG_0674.jpg

she's so flippin cute!!

We stood in line near some little boys who could have told us everything about Star Wars that we would ever need to know. They were so cute in their outfits. They had a bunch of different swords, and they were having battle after battle. I asked the mother's permission to take their pictures, and she said sure. She asked if I wanted them to put on their head gear or not, and I said whatever they wanted to do. They both wanted the full outfits on, and they had to have just the right sword for the picture.

IMG_0676.jpg

i have a feeling that our child will be dressed up like this very frequently, even if it's their daddy that does the dressing up for them!!! ray is just such a huge star wars fan. i really wish i could get him to go during star wars weekends some time, but there's no way he'd endure the heat and crowds of june.

That desire faded quickly.

IMG_0689.jpg

:lmao:

I'll get us inside, out of the heat, and put up more this afternoon.

can't wait!!!!!!! it's hot out here!

Love, love love the Polynesian chillzone.

Heading out shortly, hopefully we wil have Nicole send you some pics from our mini-meet.

Hope the rest of your school prep goes as well as your room. I will be looking for that cool poster for my own classroom.

I love your new Poly room, so creative! I also like your idea of theming various rooms in your home to the different resorts. :thumbsup2

Thank you for the awesome pictures of the Toy Story ride! I look forward to seeing more!!

Good call deciding to wait a few minutes to see if TSM was going to open. Did you love, love, love it???

The kids in their Star Wars costumes -- . Wonder how long they ended up wearing them that day in the heat and if their mother ended up having to lug them around the rest of the time?

great update and pics.

love the Star Wars pics. we are going next year and I cannot wait.

Toy Story pics were very nice also.

Although, since Hannah came along, I was able to make the guest bathroom into a Nemo bathroom! :)

It's nice that we can use our kids as excuses to get away with some of our Disney craziness!

Ultra cool Polynesian-ish room! I think you did a fantastic job! I had an idea for a new television show called Faux Disney and you could redecorate people's homes like the resorts. I am volunteering my house first! I would like to have an Animal Kingdom Lodge-ish look in the foyer and bedroom -- that's as far as I got. :lmao:

Do we get pics of the Wilderness Lodge-ish kitchen? It sounds so cozy for fall and winter days.

Sign me up for that job! I'd love to be somebody who got to go shopping for Disney resorts for a living. Wonder how one would get a job like that?

i think the room looks great.

Thanks, Scott.

TCKK - With stops and stuff that morning we figure we'll be pulling into POP around 1p-2p Wednesday :woohoo:

I just read declansdad's and pooksma's thread and saw that another DIS'er was hoping to meet us. I think that is so cool! :thumbsup2 I hope they make it and maybe some more besides!

Our plan is to have a laptop with us and maybe a couple times while we're there we'll be able to post some pictures.

You are truly a blessed Memom!

Cathy

Your Wednesday is going to be a WHOLE lot more exciting than mine. I hope the 'new' guys do go to the meet. I'll look forward to pictures.

Yes, I am blessed. I have already started saying my prayers for an easy term for Jill and a healthy baby that we can all go nuts over.

Love the bedroom TFS

Welcome to our group. Glad you like it.

Great pictures, I cannot wait to see the rest.popcorn::

She loves Buzz, so she knew it would be something like that. She was ready to ride!

How many other time did you go to the principal's office in your lifetime? Not for messages, either. Cough up the stories of all the mischief you got into!

If he likes Star Wars, you guys really should go, because he'd enjoy it. There was a parade with about a billion people/creatures in it. I didn't know who was good and who was bad and who was what...but he would appreciate it. You could just agree to go down for a short time for some SW and some relaxing. Maybe he'll enjoy some of the pictures that will be coming up during this Day Two installment.

I hope you find your poster. They had plenty of those. I got another one that I got custom framed that I'll show later. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy your trip!

Yep, I bring Disney to me when I can't be at Disney. More pictures coming in a few minutes.

Good call deciding to wait a few minutes to see if TSM was going to open. Did you love, love, love it???

I liked it, but I didn't love it. I'm not the competitive kind, so I don't care about trying to make points. I would probably appreciate it more if I did. I liked it better than Buzz Lightyear, though, because it was like games that I played at carnivals as a kid. It had very cute decor inside and out.

The mother and grandmother (I assume) had the bottom of the stroller filled with swords and various apparatus. I didn't see them again, but they were carrying a load of stuff. I'm wondering if they just went for a few things and then left and that's why they let them bring all that much stuff.

great update and pics.
love the Star Wars pics. we are going next year and I cannot wait.
Toy Story pics were very nice also.

More trips to countdown to. It's so nice to have multiple trips to look forward to.

I'm pretty sure I saw this WANTED guy hanging out over at Pop.

IMG_0707.jpg

How many Disney trips can I take for $50 bzillion?

The talking Potato Head was not working, so it was just covered up.

Time to pick up your 3D glasses.

IMG_0714.jpg

Go through the dominoes.

IMG_0716.jpg

IMG_0717.jpg

IMG_0718.jpg

Practice putting your glasses on.

IMG_0719.jpg

That's the wrong way.

Practice again.

IMG_0720.jpg

Still wrong.

Almost there.

IMG_0721.jpg

This is what it looks like from the top of the stairs.

This is the game you'll find yourself in.

IMG_0729.jpg

IMG_0730.jpg

I never made anything very exciting with Tinker toys. I had them, but I never did much good with them.

IMG_0731.jpg

I never strung Christmas lights on mine, either.

You get on the ride in twos - back to back.

IMG_0732.jpg

IMG_0733.jpg

Empty ride cart.

IMG_0737.jpg

In case you don't know what to do, it tells you in very simple terms.

IMG_0738.jpg

The following from inside the ride are iffy, but it'll give you an idea of what it is like.

You end up back in Andy's room.

IMG_0756.jpg

With the light-adorned Tinker toys.

IMG_0757.jpg

Then you get out of the ride vehicle, because the sign tells you to.

IMG_0758.jpg

How many of these books did you read as you were growing up?

IMG_0761.jpg

i love the update Memom!! that ride looks like so much fun. Thanks for taking all the pictures you do and sharing them with us. It makes you feel as if you where really there! :thumbsup2

Awesome pictures of Toy Story Mania. :woohoo:

Thanks for sharing.

Cathy

When I grow up, I want to be a toy in Andy's room -- preferably Bo Peep as I like Woody better than Buzz. :rotfl:

Love Brooklyn trying on the 3D glasses!

I love all the Toy Story Mania pictures! Thank you - now I'm really excited to ride it in just one month. And, happy belated birthday to you and a big congrats to Jill on the new baby!

How many other time did you go to the principal's office in your lifetime? Not for messages, either. Cough up the stories of all the mischief you got into!

believe it or not, i was actually a well-behaved kid. i know......shocking! :rotfl: the one time i got in trouble at school was in kindergarten. a little boy sat at my table who wore glasses and i was very curious about them, so i asked him if i could try them on. he said, "no. my mommy told me not to let anyone touch my glasses." i didn't like that answer so i just took them off his head and put them on. he didn't like that, either, so he started crying and i got a spanking. i don't think they would spank a kid for that now, but they did in 1981. when my aunt picked me up from school that day they told her i had gotten a spanking and i was hoping she wouldn't tell my mom, but no such luck.

i also got a spanking in the 8th grade, but that was by choice (that sounds kinda bad, huh?). i had not turned in home work 3 times that semester and when that happens you either get detention or a spanking. it wasn't even a choice to me......i'd much rather get it over with then spend an entire hour in detention! so i chose the spanking. but i do have to admit being spanked in the hallway at age 13 is kinda humiliating! and i normally did my homework with no problems - but this was math and i hate math, plus i didn't like my teacher, so i was rebelling i guess.

Ready to go on this ride?

hopefull i'll be on it a month from tuesday!!!!!! :woohoo:

IMG_0720.jpg

Still wrong.

:rotfl2:

thank you for all the pictures of toy story mania!!!! i was excited about it before but now i'm REALLY excited! i think it looks better than buzz. do you really get to shoot a ball out of your gun? that's so cool!

Memom - thank you for posting the toy story pics, but I skipped them

I want that to be the ONE thing that i have never seen at Disney. I saw your pics outside and the one candyland pic but I decided from there to let it all be a surprise. If I weren't going in almost less than a month :yay: I definitely would have looked, but I think I can wait

I'm SO excited to ride this ride!!!!

The above picture of Jill and Brooklynn is SO cute!! I'm glad I got to see it!!

:wizard: Hope you had a good weekend....I know you are going back to work soon :guilty:

I actually have this next week off so I'm excited!! :woohoo:...I'm sure this is what I'll be doing :surfweb: , b/c I'm a nerd like that!

Awesome pics! I love the ones of Brooklyn with the glasses. :rotfl:
I want to know too-do you really shoot a ball out of your gun? Or do the 3D glasses just make it look that way? I'm excited to ride it in November! :yay:

Another great job taking and posting pictures. The pictures of Brooklynn were magic. She is a little charmer, with a great smile.

Reading over the list of Golden Books was fun, The Little Kittens was my favorite.

Have a good day tomorrow on your second day of preplanning. Have fun looking over the new social studies books.
