A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

Great update MeMom!!!!! I love Brooklyns face as she saw the Little Einsteins!!!! So cute!!

just saw the 2nd update. looks like a cute show. great pics.

I appreciate the thoughts for Monday. The room is ready to be filled with laughter, tears, tattle-telling, nose-blowing, teeth-pulling, pencil-dropping....and a little learning. Thank heavens the first day is a half-day so that we don't have to just dive right into a full day with students who would rather still be outside playing!
Have a great first day of school MeMom!! :teacher: Thats a nice idea having it a half day. I have 3 kids. one is starting 10th grade (spec ed) one is starting 5 gr. hoping he will like school this year. I`m happy with his teacher too!!
and Angelina. whos starting K!! full day! I cant wait! shes soo excited..I told her today that she was going to school on the School bus and she was soo excited. she has her big brother to watch out for her also..they start Aug 26. Annie starts a week later...

I can't remember for sure, but I think Brooklynn might have gotten a little something from that store. As I was looking back through, I was wondering why we didn't get that little Pirates of the Caribbean Mickey set. It's kinda cute!
Just another excuse to go back!! :cool2:

This picture is priceless!!! :cloud9: she is incredibly cute!!

I like Handy Manny. I`m not sure why..hes just soo sweet...I love the tools personalitys.. Although he must be broke, because we never see him bill anybody or take a check. :confused3

I cant watch the new pooh with Darby. I dont like how they messed with original and messed it up with Darby!! wheres Christopher Robin! :headache:
This show is so good for the little ones. It's inside where it's cool, it's colorful, and it's an appropriate length of time.
And there are bubbles involved.
Was the girls name Jamie? ;) Annie and I saw this last year. it was fun! but it was a differant show. we had Bear in the Big Blue house..

Do you know when that was taken?

This is what they were doing the morning we left.

Brooklynn and I walked down to watch them from a distance for a few minutes. It's always fun to see something like that - something Disney different!

Thanks for thinking of us and sharing the yo-yo pictures. Next weekend, I'll be finalizing our plans for next July and calling to book Pop for another ten day trip.

I'm going to need about a million pictures of everything Pop (hey - Everything Pop :) ) and everything Disney to get me through from that long stretch that's coming from Thanksgiving all the way until next July!

Jill says I'll never make it.
I will be dying to take a Spring Break trip, but maybe between the fact that she wouldn't be able to go, a new baby will be weeks away, and knowing that I should save what little money I have for the summer trip, I'll be able to hold out and wait until July.
It will be difficult.
I may needs meds! ;)

u should go between the time on a solo trip for a long weekend.

u should go between the time on a solo trip for a long weekend.

One small problem - no money. That will be the sobering factor that will keep me in check. Right now, I'm getting ready for the November trip. I also just paid for good tickets for us to go to Disney on Ice in September, so that'll have to be my Disney fix between now and November. When I get back from the next trip, I'll have to save mucho dineros for the summer trip, because I'm hoping everyone in the group will be able to go, and I like to cover all the big meals and a few other things, so that'll be a bundle! As much as I would LOVE to go see the cool Halloween stuff again, and as much as I will be withering away from Disney withdrawal in the spring, I have resigned myself to the fact that neither of those will happen. We'll just try to have a Disney party fairly often, and I'll rely on my Dis friends to carry me through with their reports and pictures.

Plus, as you well know, I can stretch our Thanksgiving trip report out for several months, :rotfl: so that will help!

Now, is anyone interested in seeing a Star Wars parade?

Before we went to find a spot for the parade, we watched a few minutes of High School Musical.

Brooklynn loves the music to this and bounces up and down in some resemblance of dance.

Sometimes when they get home in the evenings, she tells Jill she wants to "pay Mookle" (play Musical), so Jill turns on Mookle and fixes dinner while Brooklynn be-bops around the house.

I said before that it was hot and John was miserable. It was getting hotter, and he was getting more miserable. I'm cold-natured, and even I was burning up, so I imagine he felt like he had been swept down to Hades!

We found a place to watch. No CMs were really making anyone get back too much, so a lot of people were still way out in the street. There's no way a parade could have come through, at that point. Right at parade time, some CMs walked through and got people back a little, but nothing nearly as strict as I've seen at most Disney parades.

I will have to let you self-narrate the following, because I don't know who or what most of these are.

Well, I take that back; I do know who these guys are, but not who they're pretending to be.

I imagine these kids were thrilled to be able to participate in the parade.

All I really remember about that parade was that sweat was dripping down everyone in sight, and I couldn't imagine how miserable all of those characters must have been.

Thanks for the welcome, and I feel soo much better. My mom says its because of the Disney medicine you all have given me. Is there an abr. for a Disney Gramma? I am a single mom but Gramma always comes to Disney with us. She lets me do all the planning, I'm very fine with that. I showed her the boards and she said "oh my, just what you need, more Disney". I do get teased quite a bit for loving Disney so much. I think I love it more than my kids do. (They chose Myrtle Beach over WDW this year):confused3 What kid wouldn't want to go to Disney? I know my love came from many fond memories as a child. We vacationed in Orlando almost every year until my teens. My love affair was rekindled in 2004 & 2007. We are planning to go back next year. I just can't decide whether to go in May for the Flower & Garden festival or August. I like the perk of free dining and my kids won't have to miss any school in August. Any ideas? Have a great day tomorrow. My kids don't start school until September. I'm just starting my back to school shopping.

is this what the playhouse disney show is always? just wondering. anna is trying to decide if she wants to do this with luke in december. he doesn't watch all of those shows, but if they ALWAYS have handy manny and the little einsteins, i think he'd love it. if it's always the same, i may forward this installment to her so she can see what it's like.

hey, memom....did you see this earlier? i just told anna about your installment and she wants to see it, but i want to let her know if it's always the same or whatever. thanks!

i'm now off to read about the star wars parade!

love the cinnamon roll buns/princess leia hair pieces that minnie is wearing. oh, and when i first saw this pic, i thought the person in front of you was giving minnie the bird!!! i thought, "why in the world would anyone want to flip off minnie???"

the guys in red are imperial guards (they are like emporer palpatine's body guards - he's the REALLY bad guy) and they are ray's favorite! i'm going to forward these installments to him so he can see what he's missing!

Sorry, I did see it and forgot to answer. As far as I know, the show is always the same. They just changed it back around March, just before we went on our spring break trip. It was Bear and the Big Blue House before they changed it to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and all that, so it'll probably be this way for a while.

I think this is one of the favorite parts of the show for all the kids. I'm going to put the pictures here, because I didn't have them on photobucket when I posted earlier.

I'm sure Luke will enjoy it, and it's not very long, even if he doesn't. They do a little clapping and a little moving - not much, but enough to involve the kids. Be aware there are no seats. You just sit on the floor.

I don't know how those people did that parade in those costumes! They are much tougher than I!

Hey! We're almost under 100 days till our November trips!

Cool (or should I say hot!) parade pictures! I think Ben would love to go during Star Wars Weekends, but it doesn't work with my school schedule.

Good luck at school tomorrow! Have fun with the kiddos! :thumbsup2

How fun, I have never seen pics of the Star Wars parade before! I am not a big fan of the movies, but it would have been cool to see Warwick Davis. And I would love to get my picture taken with an ewok. They are so adorable!!

You're back to school tomorrow? I can't believe it's back to school time already! Have a great day!!

I just got a call from Nicole. She and David and declansdad and pooksma and the TCKK clan all are at Pirates, getting ready to ride. It was loud - they're a wild group! ;) She said Wishes was playing in the background, but I couldn't hear it. I am so jealous, but I know they are having a well-deserved break from life and a great time! I am so happy for all of them! I hope they hit it off and keep up the Dis friendships they are making tonight.

My mom says its because of the Disney medicine you all have given me.

The Disboards are great therapy for any ailment. I'm going to be finding that out in a big way from December through July of next year!

As for when you go, Flower and Garden Festival is cool, no doubt, but so is free dining! If you decide on August, let us know if it will be during the first few days. We'll be there until the 3rd. If our trips overlap, we'll meet up!

Great update

I love Princess Leia as Minnie....or it is the other way around ;)

That's the one character Jill wanted to see most. We got Star Wars Mickey plush dolls as one of our souvenirs from this trip, too. I never thought I'd have a Star Wars Mickey, but since we were there at the right time, it just seemed the thing to do!

I snuck over to your report and did a little persuading.

Hey! We're almost under 100 days till our November trips!

I will be glad when we get to double digits! Hearing Disney World in the background of Nicole's call just made me want to be down there in the crowd watching Wishes...maybe eating a funnel cake!

Maybe sometime you can sneak in a long weekend. I sort of snuck one in last year whe we went for Jill's birthday in October.

I'll need the luck - thanks!

They were all over the place taking pictures and signing autographs.

Yep, unfortunately, it is time. They gave me my roster, so I can deny it no longer.

Money would be a big factor in going.

what a wonderful update. I love Star Wars and I have to say that was my favorite update so far. :yay: :yay:
