For those of you who like to fly in the night before and stay at a hotel near MCO, I'll share my experience with the hotel shuttles on our last two trips. The difference was night & day!
Two trips ago, we stayed at the Fairfield because we got it free with Marriott Points. What a disaster!! It literally took two phone calls and 90 minutes for the shuttle to finally arrive. At first, the hotel tried to tell me it had gone by, but I assured her that there was no way we would have missed seeing it. It showed up half an hour after my second phone call, and even tho' we asked about the delay, the driver just ignored my question. Then he stood by for a tip when we got off at the hotel...I don't think so!
Last Weds. we stayed at the Renaissance, which I got via Priceline for $28. Their shuttle also serves the Courtyard across the street. I called as soon as we got our luggage, and it was literally waiting for us by the time we got downstairs. It stopped at the Courtyard first, but that wasn't much of a delay at all. The Forbes Place restaurant inside the hotel was also a very pleasant surprise.
So far, we've done the Amerisuites too (via Hotwire), and their shuttle was there within about 20 mins. (the driver also offered to drive us to a restaurant if we wanted). For our May trip, we'll be checking out the LaQuinta (via Priceline), so I'll let everyone know how that goes. At all of the hotels, the shuttle service has been free (and all but the Renaissance included free breakfast, too).
