A Tale of [family madness in] Two Cities - Final Thoughts & PTR Link!

What a great way to finish your first day at Disney. I loved the castle pictures.

That Castle is just amazing. It stopped me in my track every time I saw it all glistening...!

Great update, and I hope that Henry is better VERY soon! :goodvibes

Thank you! Henry update in the post above!

What a great update! Such a fun big kid night! Hearing about the improved Space Mtn makes me geeked for our next trip! So I am guessing you and Joe are Mac people? ;)

We thought the new queue on SM was pretty cool!! And now the exit ramp is complete too, I saw a YouTube video of it the other day - it looks great!

Joe is a Mac person. I remain loyal to my Dell. I just don't get Macs! I want to see my files, I don't want to have to open a program to get to them. Joe says you can set up a Mac to look like a PC, so maybe then I would consider one. I do agree with him that they are superior machines (and don't get errors like PCs!); however, I just get a PC. He's an uber nerd that gets anything computer related in moments. I'm a computer nerd, but not like him!

Ahhh, Magic Kingdom late at night. It's just the best time to be there. I think I like it at night even better than early morning.

Your dinner at California Grill looks and sounds amazing. I really want to make it there with Marc. Yum Yum.

I've never been there early morning, so I can't compare. :lmao: 8:30 is the earliest for us! I DO plan to get there at some point for RD though! MK at night is beautiful....all the lights create such a beautiful atmosphere.

You and Marc would love it I'm sure! They have polenta on the menu, I know you are a fan of that! :goodvibes

LOL :lmao: That's AWESOME! I drool over Final Cut Studio, but alas it's not in the budget. Yet.

Thanks! That's an impressive looking setup! Oh what I could do with that at the church!

So glad you enjoyed Space Mountain and that the wait time was less than anticipated. When we did MK EMH, it was still a bit crowded at first, but that last hour was when it was truly golden.

I knew you'd get a kick out of the error picture! I cannot recall what Final Cut Studio is....it sounds familiar....I just pinged Joe asking about it. It is a program to make videos?

He just pinged me back, "Don't have it, but I want it." :rotfl:

It was pretty neat to see the lighting that makes the Castle do it's color-changing prettiness.

all caught up. popcorn::
:thumbsup2 Thanks for reading! I'm going to try to do an update today!

There is something a bit exciting about being in Magic Kingdom in the middle of the night, isn't there? Most of the people in your world are asleep and getting ready for another work day, and you are wandering around in a most magical place! :wizard:

Beautiful castle pictures!

I hope Henry has a good day today! :)

There is something magical about being there! I love it at night, all glowing and pretty!

Hmmmmm....California Grill just makes me drool!! I so want to eat there again!! The food was amazing and I loved the view from the top!!!

Main Street at night...you know Disney at Night is just so magicial! I think I enjoy seeing all the lights and everything...I have to say late at Night at Disney is one of my most favorite times to be there!

I love the parks at night too, I think my favorite is DHS with all it's neon, but MK is a close second. Oh, and Epcot with the countries all glowing...that's a close second too...

Your castle pictures are just gorgeous! I hope to see it like that myself someday!

Thank you! I hope you do too...it's amazing!!

So glad you got in your ride on Space Mountain! :cool1:

Can't wait to hear if it worked! :confused3

Hope Henry is feeling better.

Denise

Thank you! It was worth the wait, and we were all thrilled it was a shorter wait than what we expected!

I so, so love me some late night action at MK!! A totally different park, I think!! Glad your wait time was only half of what it said. That's always a nice surprise!

I agree, it is a different park at night! The entire atmosphere is different. I look forward to staying up reallyyyy late with my boys when Henry gets older. He'll love the treat of staying up late and riding roller coasters!

Great update. I think I am going to miss the stripes on the space mountain cars, but I am looking forward to see more stars. Yeah for a 40 minute wait time. :thumbsup2

I can honestly say I have never been in a park past midnight. It looks so cool being there in the middle of the night. You really got to ride a bunch of rides with minimal wait...nice. And nice pictures of the tea cups....love it!

Loved your update. I hope your little guy doesn't get you up at the crack of dawn. You deserve a sleep in morning!

I did miss the stripes too. I think one of the coolest things was zipping through there and seeing the glow in the dark strips everywhere, yet not seeing the tracks or where those cars were. Gave a big element of thrill to the ride, "Are we going to hit them?!?!" sorta thing.

It's rare the parks are open that late (and open that early), but if you ever get a chance, go for it! It's pretty neat!

What a fun filled night at MK! :goodvibes
Love your Fantasyland pictures...especially the teacups and was that Dumbo flying by? Very cool! :thumbsup2
BTMRR is so much fun at night! Glad KK liked it!
Can't wait to ride SM....it has been so long....was closed in early October so I think the last time I rode it was January 09
I was :rotfl2: at the windows error on line! I just switched to a Mac so I can laugh :rotfl:
Hope Henry is feeling better today....poor little guy

Tracy

Yep, it was Dumbo! I'm happy I remembered to get some "blurry" type shots in Fantasyland that night, I've been meaning too since LL mentioned them on a PTR a while back and kept forgetting/wasn't in the right place at the right time!

A Mac would never error like that, would it?!

Wonderful update! The castle pictures are just beautiful, I'm glad you took so many... really pretty! :thumbsup2
I can't believe how late you were there and still so many people. You do sort of feel like you are in a secret, magical place that late at night (or early in the morning!!) I love the parks at night with all of the buildings lit up and music playing.
Glad Henry is feeling a bit better! :)

Oh, and there are MORE Castle pics in the coming days. :rolleyes1 I really do need to count up how many I took...!

I was kinda surprised when I saw that picture of how many people were in it - I recall the feeling of it being empty. But maybe that was just because there were people EVERYWHERE that week, so it felt more normal!

Don't worry we have been home for 9 months and I am still not done with our TR! But I am almost ;).

I can't wait to see the new Space Mountain!

Hmmm...good idea about the fastpasses after midnight...wonder if it worked?

I hope Henry is getting better!

My goal is to be done by May or earlier...I should be able to meet that I hope!

You'll find out soon (well...maybe not soon at the rate I'm moving!) about the FPs....:scratchin

Those teacup pictures are still pretty cool! I love how the background is all blurry. Such a neat effect. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a fun night at the MK!

Joe did those teacups pics, I think he did a great job too! It looks like we are just FLYING doesn't it?! It sure felt like it too!

Oh Brook, I am all caught up!

Your updates were great! It was nice you had a lovely meal at CG...I think my aunt and uncle were there the same night! Small world!!

Poor Henry! No fun being sick!!! My youngest brother had RSV as a baby....I just remember him being in the hospital and charming the nurses. :lovestruc

I hope he feels much better soon!!!

I remember you saying they were there the same night! We might have sat by them, who knows!

I am so grateful Henry didn't get RSV until he was past 2 years old. It's so scary when they are babies! :sad1:

Oh.my.word.

I just spent an HOUR doing an update. Video, my pictures, KK's pictures, Poppa's pictures....then accidentally closed the tab on my browser instead of closing YouTube.

It's GONE. :headache:

I am going to go to the couch and cry now. :sad2::sad2::sad2:

I wish I had another hour to spend re-doing it, but...I don't....hopefully sometime later tonight....:sad1:

So, so glad Henry is feeling better!

That's terrible about losing your update. I hope you can carve out some time to re-do it.

Oh man! That stinks :sad2:

I've closed something I didn't mean to close before too, it's very aggravating!

NNNOOOO!!!! That is such rotten luck about the update!!! I did that a few times and then, I started doing it all in Word and cutting and pasting.

I am so glad Henry is doing better now!

Thats why I write mine out in word and then copy and paste it....done that 1 too many times. LOL!

Great news about Henry feeling better. I look forward to your next update when you have time, and feel your pain at losing everything after so much work.

Hooray!! I'm so glad!

Kathy

Thank you! He says his ears hurt, but we are still on the meds, so hopefully that clears up! :goodvibes

I am glad to hear Henry is doing better

I am sorry about the post I hate it when that happens :headache:

I was SO aggravated. I can't believe I did it!

So, so glad Henry is feeling better!

That's terrible about losing your update. I hope you can carve out some time to re-do it.

Thank you! I am hoping tonight after church I'll have some time!

Oh man! That stinks :sad2:

I've closed something I didn't mean to close before too, it's very aggravating!

So, so, sooooooooo annoying! :rotfl:

NNNOOOO!!!! That is such rotten luck about the update!!! I did that a few times and then, I started doing it all in Word and cutting and pasting.

I am so glad Henry is doing better now!

I used to do it in Word, but for some reason it would mess up my formatting, so I stopped doing that. I do have the words saved in Notepad (actually have the next few updates written! :yay:), but its the matter of putting in the pictures and video links. When you do it in Word, do you copy over the pictures as well?

Thats why I write mine out in word and then copy and paste it....done that 1 too many times. LOL!

Do you do the pictures too in Word? When I tried it in Word a while back, it never copied over the pictures....

I do that too - I had the DIS a couple of updates and that was all it took!

Same question for you then too. Do you copy over the pictures to Word too? The pictures didn't copy over for me last time I tried.

Oh-I just thought of something. You guys probably have the DIS set so you see the TEXT, the link, of the picture versus seeing the actual picture when you add it to your update, right? On mine I have it set so I see the actual picture - and when I choose a smiley I see it instead of just seeing the word code for it...if that makes ANY sense!

Great news about Henry feeling better. I look forward to your next update when you have time, and feel your pain at losing everything after so much work.

Thank you! I hope I'm able to squeeze in the update tonight after church. I do have the words saved, I just have to plug in all the pictures and video links...but all that takes a loooooong time with the number of pictures we have.

I'm so glad Henry is back to himself..that is such good news!

What a great night you had at the MK...I had to laugh about the teacups spinning super fast...Mark would be done for DAYS if I did that to him :rotfl: I want to ride with Joe!

Love the castle pictures...I still have one of the ones you had on FB as my background at home.

Yes, I do the IMG codes in the Word document, so they will show up correctly.

I have sooo done that - and you know what...crying is the only way to handle it :sad1:! That is exactly what I did when it happened to me. It stinks!!! Stinks! Stinks! This Dis-ing is full time work!

I now do as all the others have commented, I type out in word including the IMG links and then copy and paste...voila!

and glad to hear that Henry is back to his little toddler boy self!

Yup, I do copy the IMG links from photobucket into my word document, and yes, I do see the text instead of the actual picture. I usually do a 'preview post' before I actually post the update to be sure the right pics are in the right places. :thumbsup2

Brook, what wonderful news about Henry!!:banana:popcorn::(the last one especially for Henry!)

I am so sorry that you lost all the hard work. I can understand how you must have felt!! As others said, I also type stuff in Word (or more precisely: Neooffice, my open source program for the Mac). And yes, I have set the DIS editor so that I don't see what I get, but so that I see the code. I usually copy the

What a cool bus smiley, MeMom! :upsidedow

I'm so glad Henry is feeling better. Sounds like it was rough going for a while there.

Sorry about losing your update- that stinks. :headache:

What a fun late night in the MK you had. Looks awesome. Glad you finally got on Space Mountain. But you are still corn dog nuggetless.. must continue the quest there. ;)

Looking forward to hearing about what happened next!
