A Tale from Two Sisters---May/June 2012 PTR ***Link to TR--6/13!!***

Ariel had her first hair cut here too. . .and her second. In fact she thought that's where she was suppose to go when it was time for her hair cut earlier this year, what a disappointment to just go to a regular old hair salon :sad2: I also had my hair cut here twice, both to cut off hair for locks of love. Loved the "fairy dust" even if most of it came out during Splash Mountain!!!

For the Dessert Party I'm most looking forward to the chocolate covered strawberries. Even though they're not rare nor exotic, they remind me of Cinderella's wedding and the ones we had there :)

That's so cool!! I had my hair pulled up and pixie dusted there one time, and DH had his head shaved (he had forgotten his clippers at home. The Mickey head they painted on the back of his head was terrific!!

Oooooh, chocolate covered strawberries!! Yummalicious!

I love your family pictures - everyone looks like such fun! And those darling girls, Cinderella...beautiful!

We are going to be there the same week as well after about a 11-12hr drive. Actually, we are doing Epcot afternoon on 5/29 as well as RD at MK 5/30 as well - I can't wait to hear the rest of your plans.

Oh my goodness! Wednesday is our first MK day too! AND...you won't believe it, but we also have reservations for the dessert party that night! :)

:welcome: smellyia and thanks for joining our PTR :) How cool is it to know some other DISers will actually be in the same parks at the same time!!!:thumbsup2 We will be getting to some more plans and our Disney Nights soon. And hopefully a wonderful resort surprise (or two) pixiedust:

How cool!!! We will get to meet some DISers!!!! My dad was just saying how we get to share the terrace with 50 of our closest friends ;). . .and how cool we'll actually know someone else there :wave2:

I have never been a part of Resort hopping. You know where you can't make up your mind so your ressie seems to hop from one resort to another before landing on that final one you will call your Vacation Home. We have always had one chosen, reservations made, and stayed there and enjoyed it, gosh darn it! (Right in my comfort zone, knowing what's going to happen ;)) So I guess that this is just another first for me, on my 15th trip down to the Magical Place we all call our Home Away from Home ;) Here's how the saga plays out:

Last July, ten months before our trip, not knowing if my house would sell, and how much money I'd come away with (LOL-silly girl you sold the house but had to bring a sickening amount of money to the table :( ) I went ahead and chose the POR for myself, and would have one of those new fancy RR!!! Wouldn't my nieces love to visit me there princess: Then Cinderella made her reservations at the CR. After all it makes sense to stay on the monorail if you can swing it and when you have little ones. It's far easier to get on a monorail, or heck hoof it, from a Park to your Resort then waiting for a bus and getting back to your Vacation Home. No need to hide it, I was jealous! Not green eyed jealous, I knew it was a good move on the part of parents with three under four (brand new four when we leave), I just have been spoiled to stay at all three monorail resorts multiple times each and do not really care to wait in a line to get in a bus where I tend to get motion sickness. But hey, I was going to WDW for pity sakes and staying at my favorite mod resort that would have just been redone to fit a Princess. I still held out that hope of hopes I would find myself with extra cash in hand (LOL!) and changing my ressie to the Poly, my favorite resort at WDW! So when I made my ticker I went with the Poly.

Then as Tink and PP were getting ready to make their ressie at the POR, Cinderella and PC decided that it would save them a good chunk of change to stay with all of us at POR and then we could all be next to each other which would make getting around a bit easier. Then came the Spring Discount, as well as the sale of my home. Needless to say that I needed to save a few buckeroos and since the discount didn't include the RR, I downgraded to a regular room (poor me--pity party). Now, at least, we would still all be together. Me in my own room--which I've never had before. Tink, PP and Snow in a room. And of course Cinderella's family sharing their room.

Now some circumstances have come up where Snow may or may not be able to come down, and then PP may not be able to either. So Tink and I decided that if they both couldn't come we could just share a room and save on costs. Or maybe go Deluxe? No, no, after all Cinderella came to POR to be with us, it wouldn't be right to move resorts. We could go RR though, at the time her AP wouldn't give us a discount on those types of rooms though, but we'd be alright. Shortly hereafter and a little more than a week ago, PC starts looking online to price airline tickets for his crew to get down to WDW. Cinderella reprices the CR, asking the travel agent if she could move her discount there. Well it works out to be a couple hundred cheaper to do CR then to fly. So she asks PR which would he prefer, and the smart papa he is, says CR. After all being just a monorail ride away at times could keep a meltdown away. Cinderella asks if we are okay with it. Of course a little green peeks up, but knowing this is a smart family choice, I tell her it's fine! And Tink is wondering why I don't change my Ticker to be POR. I had actually went to make a new one, but then saw that it would put me allllll the way back to the beginning and move across again. No way I worked hard (well I had to wait awhile for Tink to move across the Poly ;) ) to get Tink to the other side of the ticker to change it now! Tough Noogies!

Which leads Tink and I to figure if we are on our own and Cindy's family is sitting pretty next to the Castle, do we stay at POR or do we try for Deluxe? Deluxe it is. So after pricing with her AP discount for the time we are there and figuring out how much we've already each shelled out for our trip and a recommendation from our travel agent. . .we decide on Beach Club! Close to EPCOT, where we'll spend two days, as well as a monorail should we deem it necessary (and I always do ;) ). Then we have to make decisions on where we should stay if PP can come or not and if Snow can come or not. So arrangements for 2, 3 and/or 4 people. I look at OKW 1 and 2 bedrooms, Beach Club, WL club level, CR, and of course my (actually our whole family's) beloved Poly. Then it comes down to it, why don't we all stay at BC together, this way we can all stay at a Deluxe by pooling our monies already rendered. No, I will do the OKW two bedroom though, it'll be under 1000 more for us all to stay there and it will have plenty of room. Everyone can have their own bed if they wanted, and it reminded me of Vero Beach Resort as well. It will be just down the river from POR where we were already going to stay so it's the same distance (basically) anyways. We could have a full fridge and a w/d to ourselves. But what about just staying in one resort room at BC, so we could all try someplace new? Nope, if we are all going to share one room it MUST be the Poly!!! Gorgeous surroundings, I know my way around that place, and we will eat in every restaurant there anywho ;) It will only be a couple hundred more, we can do it, we MUST DO IT!!! Get this, even if only two of can get down there, we still get to stay at the POLY!!!! Needless to say I am one HAPPY girl!!!! Now if we can only get the other half of the family to come over to the Poly as well. . .

**Ok, updated now that I have the actual information!!!**
The whole Family will be based out of the POLY!!!! Lots of whooping and hollering (oh, that's just in my head, oh ok ;) )!!! All that will be left is to buy my park ticket, and I'm A-OK with that!!! Totally worth the extra moolah to stay at your FAVORITE place, right?!!!! So now my ticker fits my vacation perfectly, and all is right in my DIS world :)

I really love the look of the Poly, but DH overruled on this one for BC. Is it as convenient to stay at for DHS and AK as it is for Epcot & MK?

For AK we'll have to take the bus. Unless we drive over but I know that PC doesn't like to drive once his chariot is parked until it's time to head back home. We are not going to DHS this trip (in favor of 2 EPCOT days and 2 MK days), but we'd have to take a bus there as well. Unless you did the monorails to EPCOT, walked through and then from BC took a boat or walked ;)

I did think about you when I read about the zero entry to the Volcano Poly Pool :cutie: I wasn't letting myself read their thread or website until I knew for sure we'd be there:woohoo: HTH, or if someone knows a better way to get to the other two :worship: please help her out :)

Tonight is Beaches and Cream night--having hamburgers, onion rings and making No Way Joses (and we don't even have a meal planned here, but doesn't that sound sooooo good ;) )

I have no idea why, probably the friedness of it all, but B&C is a must-do for me....maybe it's just the ice cream there :rolleyes1

I thought about skipping DHS as well, but I just couldn't miss ST and TSM.

I really think if we hadn't just been to Hawaii in January, I could have convinced DH on the Poly even if it was a little more expensive. I am def keeping it on my short list for next trip though!

That darned Hawaii ;) Hmmm though, maybe that's why I like it so much, reminds me of uber beautiful the islands are :cloud9:
And then you can see my pics from Poly and I can see yours of BC--it'll be so fun to share vacation pictures who willingly want to see them :rotfl:, ask for them even :goodvibes

DH text me at work and said, "Guess what?? It's just 410 days until we check in at the Poly in 2013!!". :rotfl2: I definitely want to see your Poly pics!!

We have been doing Disney themed nights on Sundays. Our first themed Sunday was "Road Trip". Aurora made a "cooler lunch" dinner of sandwiches, chips, and popsicles. We then did some planning and researched on the computer while we showed the movie, Cars. We since then have had 2 other nights. One hosted by me (Cinderella). It was "Flame Tree BBQ/Animal Kingdom". I served grilled BBQ chicken, coleslaw, baked beans, corn bread muffins, and key lime pie for dessert. We watched Lilo and Stitch (which was suppose to be for our upcoming poly night, but the kids really wanted to watch it) and Lion King (the planned movie). We were also able to come up with the design and color for our family vacation t-shirts that night. Just yesterday Aurora hosted again the "Beaches and Cream" night she posted about earlier and we watched an home video of our Disney trip in 2002! Home movies are the best!! Here are some pics from our first night "Road Trip"...I will post pics from the other parties once I get them on the computer!! :goodvibes

When we were in possible tornado weather I went down to our basement to clear a spot for us to go to. While i was down there I came across our monorail set and brought it up for the girls! They loved it!!

I celebrated my 30th down there:cloud9: For whatever reason ;), I was having a hard time with turning that age, and boy does WDW help cure that :tink:

Thank you! The nights have been fun, as has the planning, it certainly does help extend that Disney magic :wizard: over a longer period of time. I really think it's half the fun of a vacation :thumbsup2
