A Surprise Spring Break Trip filled with Fun and Sun!

I had the grandest of plans this weekend for my TR BUT a zoo trip, shopping trip, 2 cookouts, and a finished book later and I didn't get to do what I planned. I do want to at least get some more of the day done!

After our Le Cellier lunch, we strolled around the world to see what we could see. Some more Canada:

We came to England. Took a look for Mary Poppins but we didn't see her. In January of 2008 we found her in the store and the kids sang Supercalifragilisticexpalidocious to her. It was great! Took a tour of the tea garden-I thought this was a neat idea!

These friends were hanging out near that private entrance that some folks use.;)

On we went and came to these dancers.

We met this lovely lady in France. Ellie and I were so excited! She is a first for us!!

I'm just going to post some of the things we saw...

The only character we'd seen so far was Marie. We were very disappointed. Last year we were only in WS in the evenings so I thought that's why we'd missed all the characters. I guess we were just having bad timing.

Con't...

We continued on our WS tour. The kids were not doing KidCot this time. We didn't spend much time in any country. Basically we would look for the topiary, maybe browse a store and move on. It was hot too so that didn't help!!

John loves bonsai trees so these were cool for him to see.

Next we came here.

IMG_0404-1.jpg

IMG_0403-1.jpg

I had been looking forward to hearing The Voices of Liberty-another first for us. John wanted to see The American Adventure. The kids were glad to sit in the AC!
IMG_0408-1.jpg

The VoL were beautiful. I only took that one picture because I just wanted to listen. I'm excited to hear them at Christmas!! The AA was ok. I'll admit to dozing a little bit. It was nice to sit in the AC though!
Off we went.

We saw this lady...not sure who or what she was.
IMG_0418-1.jpg

Then arrived here. The children acrobats were doing a show but we couldn't really see. There was a HUGE crowd.

IMG_0429-2.jpg

We finally met a character here. Another first for us! She was very sweet and talked with Ellie about her friend Snow White and the dwarves since that was on Ellie's shirt.

Then we came here

John and the kids went inside to look around and cool off. I made a stop at a margarita stand. It seemed like a great idea at the time...

Frozen margarita in hand, we headed off towards

They had a little crafty sheet that you did by rubbing on the signs. Once finished, you got a pack of seeds!

After Pixie Hollow garden and the butterflies, we headed here:
IMG_0478-3.jpg

I was NOT impressed at all. This seemed like an afterthought almost.:confused3 While the rest of F&G blew me away, I almost wish they hadn't done this at all. Seriously, cardboard cut-outs?? There was another crafty/rubbing sheet here but we didn't do it.
IMG_0474-1.jpg

After this, we headed out. Got another, better, look at this:
IMG_0479-2.jpg

Our plans, at this point, was to catch a bus to Downtown Disney. For some reason, John and I both thought there was a direct bus there. We were wrong. When we realized that we would have to head to a resort, we decided to alter our plans. We just headed back to VWL to swim, eat dinner, do laundry, and pack (:sad1:).

Oh, about the margarita...it was good. Really good. I was hot and thirsty. I sucked that thing down quick. I hardly ever drink. I hadn't eaten for hours. Where is this heading??? By the time we got to the hotel, I was feeling  We went to eat first. I got a salad but didn't eat it. We went to the room and we all changed to swim. I did change but just sat at first, sipping on a soda. Finally I started to feel better. After some swimming I took the kids and got something to eat and they got dessert. Then we got showers, packed up, and hit the bed.

Up next, our last day. :sad2:

Loved all of your pics!

I totally agree with you on the Princess and the Frog display, very disappointing :sad2: It just looked cheap and out of place.

Sorry you felt ill! I found myself slurpping down a margarita one day too when I was super hot. Of course, I felt fine - maybe I drink just a bit more than you do......... :rolleyes1

Oh, and did I miss something? Did I know that you were going again for Christmas??????

Wow! So many great pictures! This makes up for us not getting to see as much as we wanted to. We did get to spend some time in the Butterfly Garden and Tiana's area. Brooklynn enjoyed doing the rubbings, but the cardboard displays were definitely lame for a Disney project. We also saw Canada and UK, but then we went out the back gate to catch the boat to Hollywood.

I love to hear Voices of Liberty. The trouble with any place in Disney World that has AC and seats is that weary tourists can fall asleep so easily! ;)

Thanks for so many wonderful pictures. We will be back next March, and we will have more Flower and Garden time then.

Thanks Michelle! I had a good time taking pictures!

I've read several other people's TR and it seems most of us feel the same about the Wedding Bayou. It's a shame because they really could've done some really cool things with that theme. Maybe next year it will be better!

As for the drink, you just have a stronger constitution than me! I still want to try a Lost on Safari this summer but I'll be sure to have a snack too!

I think I've mentioned on my PTR about Christmas...I think?? My brain isn't right these days...it's endoftheyearitis. It's going around...I've got 25 youngins' with the same disease!:lmao:
Anywho, we are going December 26-31. Right now staying at OKW but I am hoping our waitlist for AKL comes through. Either way, I know it will be crazy crowded but I'm looking forward to seeing the parks all dressed up for the holidays and doing some things like the story tellers and CP that can only be done at that time of the year.

I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures! I have loved following along on your trips and seeing your pictures so I'm glad I could return the favor just a little!

Hopefully next year they will do more with Tiana's area. I think it would be a great theme. Did the girls enjoy the butterflies? The kids and I thought it was so neat!

This weary tourist did nod a bit, as did Ben. You are right about seats and AC-often just the right combo for a quick nap!

Love your Flower and Garden pictures. It was too hot with two little ones and so little time for us to get to it all.

I'm trying to get caught up, and I think I have---Love your updates of your evening watching Spectro, and your day at EP. I didn't know about the map of the topiaries, but when we were there in March, Stitch was out in front of Mission:Space.

You'll love Disney at Christmas. I can't remember if you read my TR, but we went last New Years to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday. It was crazy crowded, but we loved it! :thumbsup2

Oh no, sorry I missed your last couple updates! Love the F&GF pictures! So colorful. :thumbsup2

I agree about the Princess and the Frog display. I thought it was kind of cute but was disappointed when I saw it was going to just be cut-outs. Oh well. Maybe they can spruce it up and do it better next year.

hey! just letting you know I'm here...now going back to catch up!

all caught up! Great pics of all of you at the airport! So sorry your flight was delayed! isn't that the worst especially if your destination is Disney World?! Well, better safe right? at least they made that plane your plane!!! wow great pics of the villa!! Gotta love those towel animals! Great pics of a pretty empty main St.! and great pics from Dumbo! I'm shocked to see there was no wait! Great start to your MK day...Alice looks so cute with the kids! I have to agree...when we ate at CP, the characters just signed and posed. Nothing really interactive but I still LOVED it!
yay for the Safari being such a short wait time! Great pics by the way!Awww i'm glad Ben was such a great sport about EE. you're right, surprising a 9yearold said that! :goodvibes:
what?! ToT went from 13 minutes to 120?!?!?!? that's crazy!
LOL...great pics of the kids in the springs pool...especially Ben...cracked me up! LOL!!
so cool Ellie got to ring the bell at HDDR!! wow! You got a great spot for Spectro! Great pics!
You got some awesome pics of the topiaries and the flowers! Weren't they beautiful?
Can't wait for the last day!!

Love your Flower and Garden pictures. It was too hot with two little ones and so little time for us to get to it all.
Thanks Jill! I understand why you didn't make it through. It was hot for us too so we just snapped and moved on. I find WS to be almost as hot as AK.

That's where we looked for Stitch but couldn't find him. Maybe he was being spruced up!
I did read your TR and loved it! I know it will be crowded but we've been enough this year to just do what we can and enjoy the festivities.

Thanks Sarah! Yep, they need to do a full out P&F display next year for sure!

Thanks Keala! I was shocked that our wait times were so short but that ToT time jump was just crazy!
I've gotta get this last day done since I leave again in 11 days!!

Thursday April 9th
We got up early today but with a tinge of sadness because we knew we were leaving this afternoon.
We got all packed and John took our checked suitcase down to the counter and got all checked in for our flight. Then on our way out to the boat, we dropped off some of our carry on stuff with bell services. We caught a boat and went to our breakfast destination.

We ate dinner here last year and thought the food was OK but loved the character interaction. We were excited to try breakfast and were not disappointed. I will say that I think CP breakfast is a little better but, again, can't beat the characters at CM!

It's just 9:08 a.m., and you've already packed, checked out of your room, taken a boat to the CR, and finished breakfast! I am very impressed! :worship::worship:

I'm still dragging my bunch to the bus stop at that time!

We ate breakfast at CM this past trip--1st time for breakfast there---and really liked it. Like you said, the characters can't be beat! :thumbsup2

Great pics of the kids with the characters at Chef Mickey's! What time was your ressie? The two times we have gone we've been there FOREVER and neither time did we see all the characters - CMs is not high on my list of places to return to, but maybe we've just been at bad times. :confused3

Aww, last days are always so sad. :sad1: But I love those early morning pictures you got. It looks so peaceful. Chef Mickey's looks like so much fun!
