Hello everyone and welcome to my pre-trip report!

Meet the Cast:

Me, Keshia (will be 21 on the 25th!): Loving wife and proud mother. Future RN. Lover of all things Disney!

DH, Titus (23 on March 26th): Loving husband and step daddy but is more like REAL daddy if you know what I mean. Also loves Disney (thank God!!)! Future neonatologist or pediatrician. In love with basketball.

Here's a pic of us from last Aug.:

DD, Aaliyah (aka the princess) who is 5 and will turn 6 on Dec. 5th which is when our trip will be. Loves Little Mermaid (like me when I was younger!) and Cinderella. Does NOT like Sesame Street as much as I try to have her watch something educational, LOL.

From Summer 2007:

So, how did this come about?:

After a long time of reading other people's trip reports and whining that we'll NEVER get to go to Disney, I'm very happy to be able to go. Originally we had planned to get married last month and honeymoon at Disney, but then we got the opportunity of living in his house that he grew up in so we just decided to get married at the courthouse last July and have a family trip at WDW later.

Last night I was looking up places for DH and I to go for our 1st year anniversary and after seeing the prices of things, I thought, "Why not just take a family trip?". So I ran the idea by DH who said it might be a good idea, but it'd have to be later in the year so that we can save up. We was watching the Disney marathons last night on the Travel channel (which I took to be a sign of course LOL!) and saw that people who go on their birthdays get in free and thought that'd be a PERFECT birthday gift for DD. We are also obsessed with Christmas so we thought it'd be great to be able to enjoy the Christmas festivities at the best place on earth! I looked at some reports who surprise their children and thought it was great idea but I also love to see anticipation so I may tell her a month before and make a countdown calendar but I'm not sure yet!! It's going to be hard to keep this a surprise for 11 LONG months but I'm going to force myself to do it!

Now, as far as plans go...we are probably just going to stay at a value resort like Pop Century. Our favorite resort is Animal Kingdom Lodge but we may have to save that for a future trip due to the cost. What we do know is that we're getting the Deluxe Dining Plan and we're going to do the Princess Tea Party for Aaliyah on her birthday among other things. We were going to do the BBB but decided that we can just give her a makeover ourselves and take her to the tea party because from what I've read, she will not enjoy the tea party when she's older and she LOVES all things princess-y! Unfortunately the costs of flights are not yet up so we have to wait to see if we're going to drive or fly from OKC.

A couple of questions: Does anyone know what the interest rate is like on the Disney Visa? Does it depend on your credit? And what's the weather/crowds like the first or second week of Dec.? Do y'all think we should have her birthday be the first or last day of the trip? Or the middle?

I dug up some pics from my September 1998 trip with my mom, stepdad, and friend Katie so I will post those in the next post...

Ugh! I'm over here brainstorming and already there is a problem with my preliminary plan.

Here's what I thought of:

Day 1 the 4th: Arrive and go to AK. Attend Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade.
Day 2 the 5th (DD Bday): Go to MK, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Take Aaliyah to the Grand Floridian for the Princess Tea Party for lunch.
Day 3 the 6th: Go to Epcot and enjoy Holidays Around the World.
Day 4 the 7th: Go to MGM and see the Osborn Family Lights.

Welllll, I went to the WDW website and apparently they don't do the tea parties on Saturdays which is her birthday!! It's ok, we can do it the next day, I just really wanted her to do that for her birthday. If anyone has any other ideas let me know.
