Now I'm not saying you, and I'm not saying who, or about who, but I think that judging an individual who is an actual person is worse than judging a mere profile of people.

I hate it when people are driving slow in the passing lane, talking on the cell phone. I hate that. I'm judging them -- they shouldn't be doing that, IMHO. I freely admil to being judgemental at times. I just try not to pick on individuals (unless they start it, of course! )

That's true and if those damn cell phone drivers get in my way, I'll might do a little name calling. And I've been known to pull up in back of the slow driver in the passing lane and flash my lights... I don't call that judgemental (but instead stupid).

And yes, Am_I_There_Yet, stinky job.

mike, i am NOT focused on it. i NOTICED it. your other comment however, i do agree with. now be careful because you are bound to hear that you shouldn't look at other people's purchases. there may be a ' health reason' why they need 6 packages of oreos.

Or they could actually be having a birthday party or a block party or any number of reasons for six packages of oreos.

I think the best point to be made, here, is that assumptions are unfair and often wrong.

Everybody does make them..........everyone should try to catch themselves when that happens and think about how they would like it if assumptions were made about them.

It would also be best to remember the saying my grandma taught me....."if you can't say anything nice, just don't say anything."

I'll admit that I can be judgemental at times of people I don't know. It's easy to look at someone and make all kinds of wild assumptions. However, after I'm done feeling all so superior I thank God that I'm healthy, have a wonderful family, great friends and basically a good life. You might try it, it's very humbling.

yup, i am just lurking in the stores looking for people to pick on and when i see them i jump out and shout boo! i try not to notice those lost kids and frantic parents as well. actually shortbun, i am the one who will reach the tall shelf for the "vertically challanged" (is that alright to say?) or read the lable for the elderly man who forgot his glasses, or load the groceries with one arm mind in into the cart of an elderly woman whom the bagger ignored, so please, get down off of your high horse because i made a comment on a post. as one who has had low back "issues" since my mid 20's, it has been my experience that poor posture is the one thing that leads to a recurrance of symptoms. while there may be some people out there in pain, tired, with arthritis, i will bet there are just some who are too lazy to stand up straight.

I'll get off my high horse if you promise not to critique my dismount. Wow, you are the good samaritan of the grocery store. You Go!

What I find interesting is that I have not insulted one person on this thread and yet, with a few exceptions there are twelve pages of insults, nasty comments and the like. I have been called uncompassionate, mean, conceited and several othr rather judgemental things that I can't recall. I did not insult anyone at the grocery store either, I simply made an observation,directed at no particular individual. I then am accused of having too much time on my hands but then, how much time did you all take out of your busy day to be insulting? And I am accused of being judgemental? Maybe I should make an observation about mob mentality. Certainly with 12 pages of discourse, this topic has provided for an "interesting discussion" and some entertainment. If any of you were insulted by the topic, you could have scrolled by.
