It would be a stinky job to have, for sure. :sad2:

I guess Dawn decided to apply for the job. Instead of "former" nurse who chooses not to work, she can now be the "official DIS butt police officer." :teeth:

Now I'm not saying you, and I'm not saying who, or about who, but I think that judging an individual who is an actual person is worse than judging a mere profile of people.

I hate it when people are driving slow in the passing lane, talking on the cell phone. I hate that. I'm judging them -- they shouldn't be doing that, IMHO. I freely admil to being judgemental at times. I just try not to pick on individuals (unless they start it, of course! :rotfl: )
That's true and if those damn cell phone drivers get in my way, I'll might do a little name calling. And I've been known to pull up in back of the slow driver in the passing lane and flash my lights... :rolleyes1 I don't call that judgemental (but instead stupid). ;) :bitelip:

And yes, Am_I_There_Yet, stinky job. :teeth:

Dawn, here's your problem -- you posted on the wrong board for this kind of thing.

If you want to make comments about people, there are other boards (where you are free to name people personally) more suitable for that. This is the board where people act like they are above that kind of thing. This is the board where tsk, tsk, tsk, how dare you be critical or sarcastic!! :thumbsup2

mike, i am NOT focused on it. i NOTICED it. your other comment however, i do agree with. now be careful because you are bound to hear that you shouldn't look at other people's purchases. there may be a ' health reason' why they need 6 packages of oreos.

Or they could actually be having a birthday party or a block party or any number of reasons for six packages of oreos.

I think the best point to be made, here, is that assumptions are unfair and often wrong.

Everybody does make them..........everyone should try to catch themselves when that happens and think about how they would like it if assumptions were made about them.

It would also be best to remember the saying my grandma taught me....."if you can't say anything nice, just don't say anything."

I usually get most annoyed with people that take large orders to the 10 items or less lines. On saturday I was at Walmart and there were people talking smack about someone having too many items in the 20 or less line. I finally realized it was me they were talking about  I didn't see the 20 items or less sign and I had about 25 items.

it depends upon how you count! if you have 6 cans of soup, that really is one item. :rotfl:

Oh, sure! That's practically this boards motto! Just one post after another of people saying nice things about everything and everyone.

We all love our neighbors and our inlaws and our kid's teachers and our public servants.....Kumbaya, everyone sing! :rotfl:

Well I should have been in the clear, it was almost all doggy treats and toys for my doggy nephew and niece.

OT: I was at my sister's house this Saturday. I was reading some threads & my niece saw your son's picture in your siggie. She said to me, "what an adorable kid!". See, all those lessons paid off! :rotfl:

Aw, thanks! He is rather adorable, but I'm a bit biased. ;) (Even more OT, two of my friends are fighting, and one told me that the other said that Russ is ugly. C'mon, think of an insult that someone might actually say!)

She got that from Thumper.

I'll admit that I can be judgemental at times of people I don't know. It's easy to look at someone and make all kinds of wild assumptions. However, after I'm done feeling all so superior :rolleyes1 I thank God that I'm healthy, have a wonderful family, great friends and basically a good life. You might try it, it's very humbling.

:rotfl2: are you kidding??? everyone on this board has waaay too much time on their hands! if you can walk through a grocery store and not notice people, you must be wearing blinders. you wouldn't make a very good witness, that's for sure! ;)

Dawn,
You seem to have a lot more time on your hands than most since not only do you spend a lot of time on these boards, but when you are not on the boards you are spending your time occupying your mind with extraordinarily inane things, then coming back here and posting about them!

Dawn,
Is that you in the middle in your sig file picture? You bear a striking resemblance to Cindy Crawford. I can see why you would want the rest of the world to reflect your beauty by having good posture and carrying themselves well.

yup, i am just lurking in the stores looking for people to pick on and when i see them i jump out and shout boo! i try not to notice those lost kids and frantic parents as well. ;) actually shortbun, i am the one who will reach the tall shelf for the "vertically challanged" (is that alright to say?) or read the lable for the elderly man who forgot his glasses, or load the groceries with one arm mind in into the cart of an elderly woman whom the bagger ignored, so please, get down off of your high horse because i made a comment on a post. as one who has had low back "issues" since my mid 20's, it has been my experience that poor posture is the one thing that leads to a recurrance of symptoms. while there may be some people out there in pain, tired, with arthritis, i will bet there are just some who are too lazy to stand up straight.

I'll get off my high horse if you promise not to critique my dismount. Wow, you are the good samaritan of the grocery store. You Go!

I was thinking the same thing. You let us know when you have acheived perfection.

I've mostly noticed men doing that. Usually tall men. Whatever the hell makes you comfortable. I don't get what the big deal is.

Maybe we all can pick up some of your good manners, charm and grace -- thanks for your shining example for us all to strive to emulate.

What I find interesting is that I have not insulted one person on this thread and yet, with a few exceptions there are twelve pages of insults, nasty comments and the like. I have been called uncompassionate, mean, conceited and several othr rather judgemental things that I can't recall. I did not insult anyone at the grocery store either, I simply made an observation, directed at no particular individual. I then am accused of having too much time on my hands but then, how much time did you all take out of your busy day to be insulting? And I am accused of being judgemental? Maybe I should make an observation about mob mentality. Certainly with 12 pages of discourse, this topic has provided for an "interesting discussion" and some entertainment. If any of you were insulted by the topic, you could have scrolled by.
