A Summer Wedding and a Disney Trip CANCELLED, HELP DECIDE WHEN WE'LL GO IN 2011

So, the weather the past few days has been damp, rainy and pretty cold compared to our weekend. It was 72 degrees over the weekend and what a tease. It was back to winter coats this morning. Sam got to wear her Minnie Mouse rain gear, so she didn't mind.

Just wanted to post a picture of Lizzie at Basketball over the weekend. They are now having little one on one and two on two games with each other, she did great, I was so surprised.

After basketball me and my brother took the girls over to the little airport to watch the planes coming and going. We LOVE doing this in the summer. There is a huge grassy area and the kids just run around while we wait to hear a plane. The next nice day we have we're going to have a picnic up there.

And the basketball hoop that we came home to from our neighbor. He made my girls very happy!!!!

Haha and after I posted these I realized that you all must be thinking i'm nuts for letting the kids play in the street. :rotfl: We live on a dead end with only 7 houses, so no traffic, really!

I just finished laundry, so i'm off to check on a few more PTRs and then to pick up Sam and then...... to get ready for work tonight! I'd rather just sit here on the dis thank you:thumbsup2

I love Spring! It's been chilly and rainy here lately as well, but at least today it is sunny.

I love the airport pics...that would be a great way to spend a summer afternoon! :thumbsup2

Fun afternoon! This beautiful weekend WAS a tease-- now it's super windy here. Can't wait for the summer-- bring on the hot, steamy weather. I'm much happier when it's 85 degrees than when it's 50!

Hey! Pam
cute pictures of Sam at McD's w/Tiana and the frog versions she is so precious!
looks like you guys are really enjoying some beautiful spring days!
have a great day! :sunny:

Great pics Pam! We lived on a small dead end street too and we used play in the street all the time. Those were some good times for sure. Seeing your plane pics reminded me of the pics you posted in your last PTR. I think it's so cool that you guys live so close to an airport.

Yeah, we love going over there when it's warm. I could stay there for hours. It's so peaceful.

The past few days were rainy and very windy. We got another decent day today though. It's around 52 and it's sunny, so can't complain today.

I think Tiana and the frogs are so cute. They are sitting on the coffee table in the parlor right now watching Sam play the Wii.

I do love my dead end street. It's so nice for the kids to just ride their bikes and play basketball.

So, it's only 1:45 and i'm so tired already. I was out all morning. I went food shopping and I had to pick up some things for a project that we're working on at work, I returned a pair of shoes that were too small for Sam. AND.... I did all of my Easter shopping, between two different stores, before I had to pick her up at 11:30. I'm so excited that I got it all done. I just have to pick up grass and cellophane to wrap the baskets. I'm usually trying to finish up the day before any holiday so this is quite huge for me!!! It feels very nice!

Well, i'm off to iron my clothes for work :headache: Even though i'm ready for bed  And i'd like to get to the girl's school early so Sam can play on the playground until they come out!

Have a nice day!
And by the way our countdown calendar is telling us 178 more days until we go to Disney World  It just feels so much closer now than it did even a week ago.

Easter shopping; I was so ahead of the game and now as usual I'm way behind...I need to get Ashton, & Dayne's baskets done...and a small basket for Gwendolyn & Joe. I Was going to get Ashton the Leapster and now I just don't know if I will; I'll see. I normally do summer and swim stuff along with a DVD so I'm thinking that I should stick to the norm?!?

Yea, I figured we'd be able to purchase air fare around May, so we'll see what the rates are looking like at that time and then make our decision. How far is your drive?

Well, I would want to go straight through. Now, we've never drove that far before, so I don't know if it's a stupid thing to do or not. The only thing holding me back from really wanting to drive is the drive home. It's a bummer once the trip is over and I know we'll all just want to be home.

Our total drive will be about 22 hours each way! I know it sounds like a lot, and it is, but we are lucky because DD does fairly well. We will actually make the drive over 2 1/2 days. The first day will be down to my Dad's and we will stay there. Second full day will be down to southern Georgia and the last half day is actually four hours to Disney. :woohoo:

If the adults rotated, we could do it one day but we do not want to be exhausted when we get there so we are breaking it up. the adults will trade off if DH needs a break on the way to GA (well, my Dad will be sleeping for the first part since he does not get home from until 3:00 a.m. and we will leave at 5:00 a.m.).

Yeah, we usually do summer and spring stuff for our baskets too. Usually around Easter is when we can get out and use stuff like pales, shovels and kites.

If we could break up the drive I wouldn't see a problem at all. But, if we want our 9 night Disney trip we have to go straight through. Like I said, I know the excitement on the way down will keep us all well and good, i'm just afraid of the drive back. I have all of these fun games to play on the way down (related to Disney) But on the way back, everyone will just be in a blah mood for leaving, so i'm sure I, or the kids won't feel like playing games.

I'm way behind on my Easter baskets. But I did buy the kids some cute spring/summer clothes for Easter. That counts, right? ;)

The pictures of your kids at the airport reminded me of my childhood. My dad used to take me to the airport all the time just to watch the planes come in and take off. Our airport is really small but I didn't care.

I finished up my Easter basket stuff today. Even though Lacey is 22 now, she still gets and Easter basket. I also bought her boyfriend some Reese eggs. Hunter will be getting Where the Wild Things Are movie and a few other little things.

We always drive to Walt Disney World and our drive takes anywhere from 14 to 16 hours depending in the weather and traffic. We break the drive into two days. We leave when I get off work at 5:00 p.m. and drive until Midnight. The next day, we are up and ready to get to Disney! When we drive home, we drive straight through.

Pam, have you thought of making them journals? On the DISign board they have the most amazing journal pages with fun questions and my dd spent nearly the whole drive home filling hers out with details from the trip. Most of the pages have pics of characters and lots of questions like "who was your favorite character at MK?", favorite meal, weather, rides, etc.

I'm making another one this year for her, for sure! It really helped.

It sure does, hey spring is coming, they'll need new clothes!! Don't worry, you still got a week for basket stuff. I usually get my stuff together like the day or two before!

And my girls will get easter baskets when they're "my big babies" too.

No, I have not thought about that, that's a great idea! I'm thinking when we're driving back they'll be thinking about nothing but the trip, they'll love to fill that out. I'm going to go find it! Thanks a ton!!!

So, this weekend was cold, but we still had to go to our Easter egg hunt. Of course the girls still had fun, they don't mind the cold like I do. Here are some pics. This farm is right next door to my brother's house, so we parked in his driveway and walked over.

Yeah, it was 38 degrees! Yikes! And guess what? Towards the end of the week we are supposed to have temps up at 75 degrees, I am so excited, i'm hoping it sticks through Easter sunday! That would be GREAT!!!!

I also wanted to share with you a game we played the other night. We played "I spy" with the Disney maps. It lasted about 45 minutes, the girls loved it!

We are watching Home Alone 2 right now, so have a nice night!

The girls look so cute all bundled up, but hopefully the nice weather is here to stay! It's absolutely pouring right now, but Easter is supposed to be gorgeous!

Easter in the Northeast...you never know what you're gonna get! We usually end up bundled up too...so much for a cute Easter dress and pretty sandals! Although we have hope this year. It's supposed to get nice this weekend, so we'll see! :goodvibes

My boys are just getting too big for the standard Easter egg hunt..so sad. :sad2:

I Spy with the Disney maps is a great idea! :thumbsup2

I love the pictures of the girls at the egg hunt :thumbsup2. I haven't done my Easter shopping yet :scared1:. I am so bad, I will have to do it this Saturday.

Oh, we have gorgeous weather coming in by Easter. So they were bundled up for the egg hunt, but they'll be in their dresses and sandals by Easter day. :confused3 Crazy!

Hey, that's when I usually do mine. I just happened to be in the store and felt like doing it early. That usually never happens with me.
