A story of renewed hope & the power of Dis

Our dates are May 28th through June 5th. The first and last dates are pretty much throw aways as they are travel days. I did put you on our reservation for 1900 Park Fare for dinner on the 29th in case you wanted to join us.

You are also welcome to join us for dinner in the room on either Friday or Saturday nights. Nothing fancy, but we would enjoy your company if you chose to join us. Paula's other half is "Jo". Really sweet gal. I met them both last trip.

Yes Yes & once again YES to all of above on the calendar now :thumbsup2 looking forward to seeing you again  ok heading out of my " Animal Kingdom " and going back to CSR...which BTW you will love !

Enjoy!

Wish I were there; but I'll just have to live vicariously through your pictures and Alison's TR.

I cant' wait to hear all about your time at CSR! I hope dinner was wonderful last night.

I'm home from work again today, they closed our offices for a second day. Jim went in but he is a bit of a nut. Said it was a pretty scary ride with all the abandoned cars and icy conditions. Today it's supposed to go above freezing so hopefully the snow will melt!

Ruthie, I hope you made it to Chef Mickey's and are enjoying your time at CSR! If anyone deserves a break, it is you!!!

It is my day off today and I am staying inside!!! There is still about 4 inches of snow in my yard.....too cold for me!! Plus the roads are still yucky! I hope this stuff melts soon, I am a summer kind of gal :lmao:

Good luck with the run next year, I know you can do it!!! BTW, princess potty :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

helllooooo humannnnsssss! Since I got scolded by no other than Ruthie herself on the telephone this am, :sad2: I am back for a quick hello. and small sstory, which considering the wait will be very anticlimatic.
Ruthie, I hope you are feeling better. You have been in my thoughts and prayers,
Ed, congrats on your wonderful accomplishment, mentally and physically. I am sorry for the pain you feel in regards to your Dads struggle as well as the loss of him physically here with you. Such a blessing you felt his presence as you ran. Thank you for sharing.

I have not done well keeping up with threads, but having met you Ruthie, I feel the need to be here. I will catch up again on the others Such as Kathy and Marks.
Ruthie with a nod from you I would like to share a moment of feeling a loved ones presence.

Okay.. Many of you know my family had a 15 month period of incredible loss. Actually it goes back a bit before the 15 month mark for me personally. We came home from WDW in Nov. 2010, the day we came home my mom fell, which resulted with her eventually in a nursing home. 1 month after she fell, a very very dear man, that was a friend to me, a sounding board, a sponsor, and much like a father to me, passed away on Christmas day. 11months after that my Mom passed, 4 months after that one of the dearest friends my family has ever had took his own life after having had a stroke in 2009, he just couldn't deal with his limitations, 5 months after that my FIL passed, 6 months after that my Dad. As a family we have all struggled. But this past Oct. I was sstruggling with personal issues and sincerely missing my "rocks" for support. I ggot a beautiful sign in the way of a green light in a picture I had taken at a cemetary. My intention was to grab on film the sun shining through the fall trees. It in itself a sign that I was not alone. That kept me strong. But, in the background my DD has been struggling with planning her wedding without her "uncle Frank", our dear dear friend. He was our motivation for things like cleaning before a graduation party, or christening, or any other event we would have. He was our planner, our motivator. He was the one who would say if your going to do it do it right, no regrets. So, we are all missing him terribly while we plan this event, that he himself was so looking forward to even before she was engaged he ran out & bought bride magazines...just for fun. Now there is a void in the planning. Especially for my DD. (sorry for the very long back story) So, here we are planning this wedding without our "Uncle Frank". They booked the church, then the venue for the reception. Next was to be the photographer. We are on a budget, like most people these days. We know how important the photographer is. I mean long after the music has stopped, the food has been digested & most of the guests can't remember when you got married all you have are your memories (the bills) and the pictures. But, we have to be realistic. So DD & DDF (fiancee'...hehehe s till sounds funny.), look into a couple different ones. They decide there is a photography "company" ... lack of a better word, who has about 35 different photographers. They find a handful of those photographers they very much like. DH & I agree with their choices. DD & DDBF make an appointment. Here is where "uncle Frank" shows up. Uncle Frank, for the over 25 years we knew him, bought his dress suits at 1 place & would go NO WHERE else. Although DH tried to tell him he was over paying for his suits. He would only go here. So, DD calls us one day, her voice sounded weak. She was emotional. She had just gotten directions for the meeting. It was not only NEAR where Uncle Frank bought his suits.... it was not only IN the building Uncle Frank bought his suits... it was IN the actual STORE Uncle Frank bought his suits. It is a tiny custom suit shop. I imagine in order to pay the rent the days they needed to figure something out, so they have a deal with this photographer to set up an area in the store with a sofa, table, chair & they meet with brides/grooms right there, and include tux deals if you get it from this custom suit place. So... that is my very long story of how Frank let his presence be known, that he so is involved in the planning of this special event. DD has found a little bit of piece with that. They chose what would've been my Mom's bday for the day of the ceremony. DFIL was in the navy, the venue has crew boats hanging from the rafters. My Dad left a little money to help pay for it. They will all be there that day. Uncle Frank was the only one. Thank you Ruthie for letting me share, and I am sorry it took so long.

When the weather turned really cold here Jan 1st ( temps in the 30's at night ) it knocked me to my knees ..I couldn't stand up straight for 4 days it got better I was able to go back to work for 3 days and then down for the count for another 3 days I never bothered looking at accuweather reports but I now follow it faithfully and am taking no chances..I was wearing 6 layers a few nights ago to go to work....waddling around like Donald Duck :rotfl2: but thank God I have been fine

This is also why I haven't been around really because I have been working a LOT another blessing so I appreciate you all being here and being patient

I still want to update the trip from Nov for our anniversary, Christmas at POP and dinner at Chef Mickey's that night BUT if you noticed the ticker :woohoo: I am taking a reprieve from work and need some time to s l o w down, and really reflect and count my blessings for all that has happened in the past year and how much has gone right despite all the struggles

Not sure if I will spend any time in the parks, doubt it not what these 2 days are about, ( just EPCOT for Garden Grill dinner) I'll of course go back & forth to take care of the animals but if the weather clears up & gets warmer again I want to just hang out in a hammock at CSR Also looking forward to trying a new ( to me) breakfast at BW Going to Kouzinna Heard Cat Cora's sweet potato hash is wonderful...that sold me !

Dee---- silly goose post away please share :)

Ruth ---please text your number I had to get a new phone and the card from the old one lost a LOT of contact numbers :sad1:

Ruthie, I am sorry you struggled with pain during your very cold winter. You know that. You also know I think of you often. ... even if my fingers aren't typing.

Hi princess: PIO glad to see you here ! Glad I'm here too :goodvibes

So remember I was planning to run that 1/2 marathon next month, and Ed & I were talking about it a few posts ago ? Well I just spent about a 1/2 hour on the run disney website deferring my fees to next year ..apparently this can be done and had I been a little more diligent in checking things out the fee would have been $40 :sad2: because I wasn't it just cost me $70....:scared: that's not the lousy part of it though I had to PAY that fee & the cost upfront to register for a total of $180. ....it will now take 4 to 6 weeks to get back the original money I paid :faint: You better believe I will be doing that race if I have to do this to pull it off :

:rotfl2:

and then because I never got over to the marathon expo I decided to check out eBay for a run disney in training shirt for the princess for 2015 and all I came up with after a search used my words was THIS ......:rotfl: hope it's not a sign......crap.....:upsidedow ( It's good to laugh ! )

I'm really starting to think the website sees Luvchefmic is back...get a table ready !

Glad you got it & I know enjoyed it!

I'm glad to see he made it home ! I just came home to take care of everybody here and was thinking of you and Jim

As you know I checked into CSR this morning, the only request I ever ever make ...and of course I know there are no guarantees, is for an early check in

Working the 3rd shift and being in the area so exhausted I always like to get in there take a nap settle in and start the day refreshed Its never been a problem at POP before but then again POP is NOT a convention resort

Yes there are conventions going on and it almost didn't happen I was so afraid if I had to drive home I would fall asleep on the road If they didn't find a room I would have taken a nap in the parking lot I really would have I am thrilled to say one was found and boy did they take care of me  I'll take pictures of course I've never stayed there that room is gorgeous If I had unlimited finances I would have a bedroom like that right down to the color palette The location I got :cheer2: would be perfect for going in the pool  I realize we're not dealing with snow but boy its the dark gray misty off and on again rain day that makes you just want to hunker down with a good book or watch a movie which I fully intend to do after the ADR that I will NOT miss

AWESOME you got what you not only wanted, but sincerely needed.

Looking forward to reading the rest of your TR. BTW, no more harrasing me since you didn't even finish your past TR's!!

Hi Ruthie! Just stopping by. :goodvibes Looking forward to reading more about your currently-being-reported stay. Hope you are well!

:grouphug:
I think we could all use a hug.

Although Spring might get here someday.:sad2:

:grouphug: I think so too Ruth...I don't have the right words for you Dee sharing that with us ( I have the goose bumps though :goodvibes ) I don't believe in coincidences, some people would call that with Uncle Frank one, I just think he was able to reach out to your DD and your whole family a nice blessing

I am getting tired of the "cold weather" in FL myself this morning the house was 61 degrees when we woke up, I told Ariana to get her behind ( ok I used another word :rotfl2: ) back up to GA as she obviously brought the cold front down with her ! Hopefully, especially for her & her family, it will warm up again
while they're still here

Hi Ruthie! Just stopping by. :goodvibes Looking forward to reading more about your currently-being-reported stay. Hope you are well!

Well hi ! I am so far behind, with everything in life and I still can't find that camera/wire it is making me :furious: with myself I USED to be such an organized person I would absolutely DIE if anyone of you ever came to my house now :faint: Hopefully I can get something accomplished today

edited: well what did I accomplish today ? Not much I admit but 2 big things: paid the cable bill or I would have lost the internet, and filed our tax return so at least that's done

We'll get a refund but the way I was raised it's better to just break even A refund is an interest free loan to the government as far as my Dad was concerned and he drilled that into our heads all our lives If he was still alive he'd be going over our with holding with a fine tooth comb and find what we should have been doing differently, funny the things you remember about someone even almost 14 years later

and then I spent the day sleeping off and on...guess I needed it :-)

YAY for a refund. Interest free loan aside, it's cash in your bank. :thumbsup2

Hope you got some decent rest.

((HUGS)) for us all. You are right Ruthie, we all need a hug now & then.

Ruthie, glad you are getting a refund. I know your Dad was right. (the accounting classes I took in high school taught me that). But, I like the government holding onto my money for me. Besides with the banks now adays you don't get any interest worth speaking of anyway.

Ruthie, I am sorry you are cold & that Ariana & her family are having a cold spell while there. BUT.... 25 degrees was the high today, and still about 1 foot of snow on the ground. I am SO ready for spring.

So, I have another story. I know some of you probably won't believe me, and I can't say I blame you. For as long as I can remember my parents didn't get along very well. Finally 6 months after I married they divorced. (I always tease DH and tell him it was his fault. ). Well as I said before Mom died then 15 months later Dad died. It has been 1 year ago, today Dad passed. The other day my DB stopped by with mail that went to his house that was my Dad's (not unusual). It was from the Bradford mint. Weird. My Dad used to order from them when he & Mom first split (30+ years ago), but not for the past 25+ years. So, the item they are advertising... A pendant very pretty with two names on it. Saying something like, forever together. VERY WEIRD. Now, if my parents were still married, or even if they had been divorced within the past decade or so, or even if one had left the other on a life insurance policy, had ANY type of account together, anything. But, when they divorced they COMPLETELY severed all ties, except us kids. So, how the Bradford mint EVER put THEIR TWO name on it TOGETHER, is beyond words weird. LOL I admit it, I cried. My brother cried. To think after all these years they had forgiven each other is just such an amazing thought. After loosing one of their sons, they had put alot of their animosity aside, but were certainly not overly friendly to each other.
I agree Ruthie, things happen for a reason. My brother and I needed that. For whatever reason it came. We are grateful.
Now, Ruthie get on that camera cord. I want to see those pictures.

Every time EVERY time I get a room on Disney Property it rains :confused3 OR every time Ed & I make a plan it rains Sooooo considering the weather radar and the down pour right outside my window, the fact that 2 parks out of 4 close by 7 and the place is crawling with cheerleaders, dance groups, whatever, Ed is staying home and I will....who knows :lmao:

I did meet Ariana, her Mom and her SIL/BIL this morning for breakfast and plan a quick re-meet later but that's it

Fingers crossed for 10 days from now when Ed plans to come up...again...this time I will NOT be making any reservations ....I had to promise him ::yes::

Awwwwww Dee, that was a great story! I hope everything is coming together well for the wedding!!!

Ruthie, sorry about the rain, but at least it's not snowing!!!! We had our third snow storm this winter yesterday (yes for you northerners.....I know.....boo hoo) but that is A LOT of snow for us!!! It messes EVERYTHING up....everything shuts down....we have so many snow days for school I am sure they will have to do Saturday school to make up for it :crazy2: okay, I am done venting now....

I hope you get to make it to WDW for your next plan....it's always something, right?

pics, progress, we must know...... popcorn::
