A story of renewed hope & the power of Dis

Now when I read this I laughed and posted should I even bother to answer ? She's outta here like someone who didn't quite get to 3rd base before the ball went back to the catcher :rotfl: Now that you ARE here.....LOIS Welcome you were missed more than you know :)

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: That's more like it!

im a little miffed...

:rotfl2: BOOM. i had one.. i am still holding on to a couple for later use..

:lmao::lmao::lmao:
You go girl!!:thumbsup2

Lois and I should probably coordinate parks/days to see when we can do a DISmeet. I don't have a hard and fast schedule, except that I will be in the MK on Thursday, EPCOT on Friday, and DHS on Saturday. We could get together at the Bakery in France for cake, or I'm up for any other suggestions. Ruthie, you probably know more about WDW than I'll ever know, so you can suggest a meeting place.

My plans are still in flux, so anything could happen. Right now, we plan to be in HS on Saturday, but none of the other parks match up. We do have hoppers though, so we are very flexible. I'm trying to change some ressies around and get better times, etc., so that's why I say "in flux". BTW, the bakery in France is to die for!!!!

I was going to say Attention Ladies If we have scared Ed away and I don't get my questions answered you are all going chip in to reimburse me for the entrance fee when I am left behind in the weeds, then I saw he's here SO IF you can FIND my questions ED please carry on loving your pictures

Fine..
how about a hug?
Ahhhh...I love seeing things like this, since Maxine no longer lives with another horse when I see this in the fields by my house I grt all "marshmellowey" thanks

We will definitely have to do something in October! As soon as I know for sure what my plans are, I'll let you know.

That would be loverly

Probably only because I have been coming here for 30 years

Actually I am thinking of something else Lois is it just you and DH this trip ? Tess just you and DH ? Where is everyone staying again?

am I understanding this right it could be several HOURS BEFORE my corral ( no horse or cow jokes I swear I will kill you Mo :rotfl2:) even crosses the START line ????? Seriously what do you do in the corral for hours ?? ( I MEAN it with the joke warning //// I know this crowd :stir:)

You meant to say several hours before cross FINISH line right ? I mean what in the name of all that is holy do you do with several hours before you can race ?? Oh I know pray that your behind doesn't end up flashed across the local news .:happytv:..wear a tutu....uh...no....:blush:

:lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

Bring on the laughter. Seriously, It can be a couple of hours. I split up with my friends about 4:30 to 5:00. The first group goes off like 6am. This group are the the wheelchair racers. The second group are the serious competitors, the rest are divided into like 6 to 8 groups. The faster runners that have validated their times get to start in the earlier groups. The first timers like you and me will start towards the back. All of the groups are started about 8 to 10 minutes apart from each other. So it is possibly with the staggered starts and the corral placement it can be a couple of hours to cross the start line.

:scared1: I WISH we had gotten to know each other better sooner we could have signed up for the same race ...too bad YOURS is sold out...on the other hand MINE is not :rolleyes1 just saying

I am trying to wrap my head round this information ( and pick my chin up off the floor ) this is nuts ! :teacher: keep going

Its just me and dh - Charlie. We are staying at CBR and also have park hoppers. I have ADRs most evenings, but I'm still flexible with plans.

Good evening. The masses start running. :cool1: The start does get crazy.

What I had in mind is the first time I had a DisMeet with a dear friend (3 years ago and a BIG Re-Meet in addition to first time meets this Oct) we met at a resort it was nice as we got to spend time relaxing and getting to know each other without all the hub bub of a meet in the parks After that meet several people then made plans to spend some time in a park together we all got along fabulous but I couldn't do further time with anyone due to work schedule

This wouldn't work to well if kids are coming that's why I asked, they would want all time in a park, who could blame them ..anyway my thought is if Lois is not coming with grandkids we could do this I'll bring a cake from a local bakery and we will celebrate mutual birthdays that sound good ? Either your resort, theirs, or right there on the boardwalk ...open to ideas :thumbsup2

Remember when i was saying about starting on the left side of forward motion, my best friend went to her corral very early to get to the front of her group. She was right behind the banner for the start. This made it easy to find her at the start and take her pic. She is in the pink shirt left of center

I really like the 2nd to last picture you got there "Mickey & the Four Minnies" looks/sounds like a singing group from the 1960's :wave2:

Yep I remember what you said about left of corral in the middle of all our chatter I do pay attention & take mental notes...good deal !

OK got to get ready to go to work, that time of my "day" again...have a great night all checkin with everyone tomorrow (yeah its Friday today ...well for ME ! )

Now while the runners were heading down the road and then on to World Dr i was heading over to the monorail to head to the TTC. It was hard to get pics of the runners in the dark while moving until the monorail got to the parking entrance.

Have a good night at work. There will be a few more coming tonight.

Thy kinda angled thru the parking lot to where the tram takes you under the road that goes to the Poly. People also made there way to this area to cheer the runners on. They have all sorts of things on the sides for you to see. The guy on the bike was neat to see.

Now this is where i am going to piece together some of the 2 years of pics i took. The first year i hit the TTC and the Poly for my pic points. This year i went in the the MK.

Now there also has to be a better way to course this out or make more corrals and limit the number of runners per corral. There were a few "choke" points and you could not run if you wanted to. the TTC area was one of them.

This is leaving the TTC and heading over to the Contemporary. I didn't get there but i know those that were staying at the CR were standing out in front cheering on. There was a high school band playing off to the side. Sun was coming up then. I can tell you it is really hard to find your runners in these crowds sometimes.

Obviously the runners made the turn at the bus station toward the MK. They came in thru a gate off to the right side of Main Street. They have Main Street divided in half. The runners will head down to the hub and then turn right to head into Tomorrowland.

I also took the Main Street pics after finding my friends at the castle so there will be a little darker pics coming.

Really awesome pics Ed! I am just overwhelmed by how many runners there are! WOW!

D~

I love the pictures. The lighting changing is remarkable. I feel as though I am there. I'm finding this very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
