I love reading about all of this - thanks for posting all of your research Ed... Even though I will never be a runner, it's so interesting!D~

It IS interesting and anyone who knows me knows I like to have the details and get as many ducks in the row as possible Its calming me down to see where and when I will be going It is also reminding me to leave all manner of currency at the resort or in the car prior to walking into the Expo I hate shopping but I can get suckered in by the Mouse with no problem I did fine when I went and got THE SHOES , no matter how much I was in awe with the speaker I bought nothing...then got 2 of his books on amazon Daddy did not raise a fool !

ditto. I often say if it is ever possible again for me, I will do a 1/2 marathon....and take dancing lessons.

Sorry! I was without my laptop this weekend I forgot the dang power cord at work!!!! Mama says... Ugh. I think i need chantix. SO i have the e-cigarette.. and i sued it all weekend which of course i smoked less yet i wanted to cut out the key ones. Morning, drive, and after eating. didn't happen... STILL i am down..And for Ed:
I cannot wait to see pictures of THAT! OK enough about me.

Yes, Ruthie, WHEN I can I WILL run a 1/2 marathon.
For now, I am happy I can walk a tread mill when it is nearly silent around me. Baby Steps.

I am glad you changed your feeling about what you can & cannot do AND you don't have to run the whole way actually its NOT the smart thing to do more on that as time gets nearer I'm PROUD of you for opening up to possibilities Do we REALLY want a life of "coulda, shoulda, woulda ?"

Good Evening everyone. another fun day is almost over.

Now comes time for the fun stuff The area for the finish line, bag check, racers retreat and the pre race stage where the announcers are all in the southern section of Epcots parking lot. They have a place where the buses drop of the runners off. For those that are staying off property just drive into Epcot as if you were going to play. There is no charge to park for those that go in early enough.

I was the designated drive for my friends the past 2 years. Last year some were in the POP and the others were in Saratoga. Lets just say we were in the parking lot by 4am and there were a lot of people there already. There are also the marathon photos people everywhere taking group pics of everybody. Most everyone hung out in the stage area until the corrals were called. Quite a few though went thru the bag check area andwalked to their corrals early. They did say it was a 20+ minute walk to the corrals.

The main road in front of Epcot is closed in both directions. The side that heads toward World Dr is what is used for the starting line and the course to the MK.

Good Grief Charlie Brown and marathon photographers What's the deal with this Ed ? Besides more $$$$$ it never ends I have started to fall down a rabbit hole with no end in sight How exactly does it work with them ? Is it a package deal, a photopass type of thing ? What exactly do you get for your buck(s) ? Know anyone that has used them before ?

I need to get ready for work...can not wait to see more Sooo glad you are doing this, I would have been drop dead shocked with no knowledge going in

Love the runners with the mini hats the bright orange shirts and the mix match sox...I think you NEED to wear the purple suit (& tutu) Figment !!

The people on the stage did a great job. Playing great music and keeping the energy level up. There were character photo ops on each side of the stage.

The key to all of their photos is being able to see your bib number. There must be a program in place that will sort all of the pics taken by everyone. There is a website you can go to and view the pics they have taken. They sell their pics in package deals. I have not looked at thei site and my friends got the pics i had taken of them. I do not know if they ever bought any of the package deals. There are some very crazy outfits on course. You will be amazed.

Now when you secide to head over to the corrals you have to go thru the bag check area. People will look thru any bags that are going over to the corrals.

Now when you go to your corral DH can head over to the starting line viewing area to watch your corral start. The viewing area is along side of the main Epcot road. They have created a passaged from the parking lot to the road and it is covered in wood chips. With the early start the dew will still be all over the grass. This area is not covered in chips so it can be a little slick. DH will also have to keep in mind to watch out for the ant hills. Also keep in mind that depending on when you split up in will probably be a couple of hours before your corral crosses the starting line.

Now for the starting line. The first year I didn't go down to the starting line. I stayed by the passage way to get tothe monorail quicker. This year i went all the way down to the line and i am glad i did.
