A story of renewed hope & the power of Dis

After the Poly pics I knew that i had an easy hour to get back to Epcot so I went wandering around the Poly. I had to take a few pics for the Where in The World game i play over in the photography section. I love that resort. It has been an easy 20 years since i have stayed there.

For the runners they follow the exit road back to World Dr and head back to EPCOT. Now with plenty of daylight to take pics from the monorail i was good to go.

I love the different facial expressions, your friends look terrific the kid
behind her though, not so much, he looks kind of shell-shocked I will not
put a roll on floor laugh emotion thingy here It may bite me back in Feb

Now when they leave the park they head over to the road that goes past the GF and Poly. These pics were taken last year since i only did the Poly and TTC.

I am sure at this point they have to be thinking "oh darn" this road is long geeez

But Disney has something along the the course to focus on.

I am feeling encouraged that I haven't seen anyone sitting on the floor
collapsing in a fit of tears or an ambulance :scared: I wonder how many people
don't complete it...no don't really want to think about that not an option going to think of this as a fun new experience

Yeah he does. This was another spot about complaints were heard that the path was not wide enough. this was like a ing and narrow choke point. There was quite a bit q walking in this area. For those that wanted to run they had to go off course so to speak.

I can't remember if it was this year or last years number but i heard that out of the runners that started 22,421 crossed the finish line. Might have been one of the news outlets that had that number. I think that the RFID chip will also tell you what place you finished in too.

They also have medics on bicycles riding the course too. Oh and by the way they do not allow bicycles on the course either other than the medics. That was going to be a part of my pic strategy :(

I'm just not going to think about it I have to admit though when I heard about those sweepers that pull you off the course and get you out of there on a bus if you don't keep up with the pace I was really nervous but I got over that

Looking at the pictures I do agree with you there are too many :crowded: areas that don't make any sense Like the last pictures for goodness sakes they're making a gazillion dollars on entry fees resorts all the stuff shut down the roads totally not just have the runners practically single file on the side of the road...makes no sense I figured bikes would only be allowed for medics & security bike patrols..nice idea though

I went past WWOS this morning and had a better understanding thanks to you of everything so that helps Thanks again

At this point in the median for this year there was the pirate ship, last year there was a hot air balloon

Very nice ! Ever do a hot air balloon Ed ? I did a few years ago & I will never forget that experience as long as I live Saw things I never even knew we had in FL like wild horses right there in the countryside not far from WDW The Capt was
really amazing The best part ? When you reach an altitude that you are at a place that you hear absolutely nothing that to me was amazing

I was just going to photobucket to post a picture of that beautiful day when I discovered THIS I can't believe it especially since we were just talking about NJ
James Gandolifini "Tony Soprano" died at age 51 !!

Now comes the part that my friends said oh crud and a few other words:lmao:. You have to run under the bridge that goes back to EPCOT. Sure you have driven it many times. It is that long sweeping cloverleaf incline back to the top of the bridge. Friends walked most of that.

I know i have a better pic of this cloverleaf but you get the idea.

I have not gone up in a hot air baloon yet but i do want to. On the bucket list. I had heard the name on the radio but could not put a face to the name.

That cloverleaf area ...pass it many times in a week will be looking at it from a whole different perspective I'm reading a book "running the crim" the coolest race in michigan hearing about the choice words from your friends made me remember a part of the book that a woman is relating how she got to a point in the race huffing puffing cursing and found herself next to someone they started talking and when the race was over she asked him what he did for a living :lmao:
you see where this is going yep ! catholic priest

when you're ready to move it up on your bucket list i'll tell you about this company, no fly by night place, very experienced

only reminds me about his death how short life is must live it to the fullest

Now on to the castle. It is a bad choke point, you know how crowded on a busy day that passage way can be, now try and put 28,000 thru over a several hours. :crowded::crowded:

But it still looks great

This is a Great picture..

carry on...

I know you invited me to post details of my trip here, Ruthie, but I don't want to interrupt the running.

Maybe when we get to the finish line.
