A Spooktacular Disney Trip 9/30/09 to 10/10/09

Zachs favorite part of the park is Honey, I Shrunk the Kids play area so we HAD to do this since he was so nice taking character photos for me. See I told you I had to bribe him. On our way there we stopped at the Great Movie ride. We finally made it to Honey, I Shrunk the Kids play area. Zach spent a good 30 minutes running around. I didnt take any photos I was to tired LOL. Zach made a friend so he had someone to play with. Mom relaxed on her scooter and I relaxed on the ground.
After Honey, Zach wanted to see the Backlot Tour. We got on line and just missed the first wave of people they let in. Zach started to complain he was bored. I told him he wanted to come here and theres nothing we can do about it now. We only had about 5 minute wait. It has been about 3 years since we saw the WHOLE volunteer show. Zach commented on how new this was. So watching the new part made him happy. He laughed so hard when the captain got soaked. The new actors/actresses were pretty funny.
We got the last row in the first car. Nobody else was in our car. No matter how many times I take this tour there is still a new photo I need to capture. As we were coming to the end of the tour we noticed the Monsters Inc character spot. As quick as we could we got through the Backlot store and on to the Monsters Inc line. We were about 5 families from seeing Sully when the CMs did the switch-a-roo on us. Mike came out and we were not disappointed. We havent seen either of these guys since Zach was 1 ½ years old.
After hanging with Mike we went to the next show of Lights, Motors Action. We got front row seating. Zach couldnt see to well so I moved up behind the handicapped seating with him and got perfect seating. Zach was amazed as always. Mom enjoyed it too, even though she sat by herself. Not 3 minutes into the show a car broke down, a forklift came out and removed the car. No matter how many times you see this show I am still amazed nobody gets hurt. Its still amazing how they drive all those cars in such a small space.

If you are looking towards the building where Woody & Buzz are in look to the left there is a sign that says LIGHTING JR. next to that is a "bumpout" of the building and on top of that is a "garage type" door he comes out of that door and dances. I hope that made since
OH no you don't. YOu have to wait LOL It should be within the next 2 posts.

We got to 50s Prime Time at 3:20 we took photos with the OLD stuff mom remembered when she was a kid. At 3:45 we were called. Mom had Pot Roast, I had Meatloaf and Zach had Chicken Nuggets (What a surprise LOL). We didnt have a very good waitress so moms first experience here was a tad bit disappointing. We all cleaned our plates. Well, Mom did leave a little bit and the waitress did try to feed it to her but it was FAT so mom was not going for it LOL. For dessert Mom & I had caramel sundaes and Zach had a make yourself sundae.
After eating so much we had to relax so we hit the next show for Indiana Jones. Zach tried volunteering me for everything but I was not picked (Thank Goodness).
After Indiana Jones we walked over to meet Prince Caspian. We were there for the whole movie spew and at the end we find out that he was not there. We came out of Narnia and right into One Mans Dream. I really enjoy listening to Walt tell his story about his life. Of course everyone knows his dream and his story but to hear it from him brings more meaning to it. Thank You, Walt for Dreaming Big. After this moving experience we headed to Fantasmic. I sent Mom & Zach ahead while I got some drinks and pretzels. It is not to hard to find Mom since she is in a scooter and will always be on the top row.
I found Mom & Zach on the top row between Jafar and Hades. While the theater was filling Zach said its like a virus spreading. It started getting dark with almost a full moon was out. Zach said Oh, lets do a love scene its so romantic. He gave me big kisses and lots of hugs. With him being EIGHT he doesnt kiss you goodbye or hello in public so I loved that LOL. Watching Fantasmic Zach was in ahhhh he wouldnt take his eyes off the show. Great show as always. When it was time to leave Zach hitched a ride with Nanny so he didnt get lost. I told mom if we get separated met me by the store (she knows which one).
Just as we got to the bus they were loading people since we had a scooter we waited for the next bus, it wasnt a big deal since we had a nice relaxing not rushed day. We would have made that bus if we werent walking behind the slowest people in the world; mind you one of them had a scooter LOL. We were the first scooter in line but since the other scooter was a stop after ours they loaded her first. It took a good 5-10 minutes for her to get parked. People were so mad it was taking so long, when it was moms turn she whipped it in there so fast. I started hooting & hollering and had the crowd going crazy. Mom of course got a bit embarrassed. We had a fun crowd on the bus so the ride was fast.
We got to the Riverside, Zach and I started to walk to the lobby so we can see what room we were switched to while mom got off the bus. Mom put her scooter in overdrive to catch up LOL. This is where things got interesting.

I posted this last night but I guess it didn't go through so I'm reposting.
We get to the lobby I bring my MYW keys to the desk to get our new room number. The girl at the desk asked me for my MYW key. I give it to her; she types in something and hands it back to me. I asked her Am I getting new ones or Did she need the rest of them?. She said No, you are good to go. On we go to our new room far far away in building 17 room 1719. The room is in a nice location to the pool. Its 2 rooms around the corner so if anyone is in the pool you cant hear them but if you want to go swimming its right there. We were also close to the laundry room, not like I was doing laundry or anything but just in case LOL. Zach and I get to the room before mom did (she had to find a ramp) NONE of the keys worked. Are you kidding???? At this point my feet were starting to hurt and I got really MAD. We all walked back to the lobby and That girl was gone. Ohhh she was lucky. The good news is Myk the guy who checked us in yesterday was there. I said Listen, Myk some girl checked me into my new room and none of my keys work. He asked Who was it and how long ago? I said Some chick from Sydney and as long as it takes a fat woman to get to building 17, find out her keys didnt work and walk back here. (I'm the fat chick LOL) We were laughing so hard by now. He checked my keys and said She never gave you new ones. I said I know. I asked her if she needed the other keys and if we get new ones and she said no. I said She probably saw me and decided I needed to lose some weight so she sent me on a wild goose run. Where is that girl, Im gonna snap her in half. I had Myk rolling by now. I dont like to be mad so when Im mad I try to make funnies to make me feel better. Myk fixed our problem and handed me the keys. I said Are we good? I dont want to have to come back and hurt you. We all laughed and reassured me the keys WILL work.
Finally, in our new room at 10:00 pm. We call for our luggage and Milk. It got there around 10:30. Mom and I went quickly to unpacking. I put the milk and soda in the refrigerator, the food on the shelf and got the suitcases unpacked. Around 11:30 mom & I decided to decorate the windows. They came out kind of cute. Zach pulled out the tremble to go to sleep and there was no blanket, so we had to call housekeeping about that. Now its finally time to take a break and grab a soda. Guess what? The refrigerator was warm. All I can think about was all the milk going bad. We called housekeeping again and they said they would send maintenance to take a look at it. While waiting for maintenance to show up housekeeping came with a blanket. Finally Zach fell asleep.
All of a sudden I notice Zachs pooh bear blanket was not here. OH NO, What to do? He has had it since birth. Thank God he was too tired to notice it tonight. I called bell service and they said they didnt have it. Mom & I both remember putting it with the luggage because there was no room for it IN the luggage. I called house keeping thinking maybe just maybe we left it in our room, nope they didnt have it. Anyway, housekeeping looked in lost & found and didnt find it. Now Im nervous. Zach might be asleep now but as soon as he wakes up he will want to watch TV and cuddle with his blankie.
The lady on the phone was very nice. She said she had 4 kids and knows exactly what Im going through. She said she would look all over housekeeping and then run to the luggage area just in case they missed it. She also said she would have the duty manager call me at 1:00 tomorrow. As I was talking to housekeeping the maintenance man showed up to fix the refridge. He said there was too much warm stuff in there pulling away from the cold. Ok Whatever. I never heard of it but if that is what you can come up with Ill go with that LOL. He did however turn up the dial (which we couldnt since they take the dials out). Finally I was in bed at around 12:00 am.

Mike woke me up at 6:00 am for our annual good Morning, I Love and Miss you chat. Before you ask 6:00 am is the time he comes home from work. After our chat I went back to bed. I had a really bad cough. This morning is our late morning since tonight is our 1st MNSSHP.
I woke up at 9:30, Mom & Zach were still sleeping. I figured this was OK since I only had swimming planned on the agenda anyway. Just as I finished writing in my journal about our lovely night last night Zach woke up. He climbed in bed with me and asked Wheres my blankie? I knew it!!! How do I explain? What do I say? I felt so bad for him and it broke my heart to see the look on his face when I had to explain the resort lost it. I warpped myself around him and said Can I be your blankie? and I squeezed him tight. He said No, you are to tight, I cant breathe. We stayed snuggled up for awhile.
We all ate, got our swimwear on and headed for the pool. We opt for Old Mans Island inside of the pool right next to our building LOL. The water wasnt exactly what Id call warm but once you got in, you felt good. Zach found a brother & sister to hang around with. They discovered Columbus Island together.
The dad tugged all 3 of them around on their noodle. Mom & I took turns with the dad tugging the kids around. We all went down the slide a couple times.
We had a great time swimming for a good 1 ½ hours.
During our time drying off Zach had me in stitches. I dont know where he comes up with the things he says but heres one of our conversations
Zach: Daddy doesnt love you.
Me: No? Then why would he send me to Disney?
Zach: To get rid of you.
Me: Daddy says he loves me.
Zach: He lied!
He got quite then said Daddy only tells you he loves you so you dont whine.
Does my kid have a great sense of humor?? LOL My mother and I were rolling.
Since we were close to the main building we decided to pick up lunch to eat in the room.
I had pizza, Mom & Zach had chicken & Fries.
After lunch we took showers and got ready for our 1st ever Halloween party.
Mom ironed Zach's costume but you didn't even notice (he was a dead pirate with rotten clothes)
Like our window LOL
We had skeleton garland coming down, a gel title that said Cast a Spell and a Skeleton head. Not much but we heard lots of people commenting on it as they walked past.
Next up the Halloween party. We have TONS of pictures so be prepared LOL

Sorry it took so long. I have been in a lot of pain and not in the mood to do anything.
Let's see where was I....Oh yea we were on our way to the party
I forgot to mention after swimming my voice was getting scratchy.
We left the room at 3:15 hopped on the first bus and we were at MK at 3:45. The CMs started letting everyone in around 3:50. We had a 4:00 Pirate league appointment for 2 adults and 1 child. As soon as we were through the turnstile we got our wristbands, trick or treat bags and ran like the wind to make the 4:00 appointment.
We got there just in time. We checked in and did all our name ceremony, my name was Kate Helmwrecker (I thought they said HELLWRECKER LOL), Zachs was Johnny Foulstench and Mom was Meghan Sailmonger.
Just after we were done with the names I had to use the little pirate room so Zach & Mom were put in chairs 1 & 2 (right next to each other). When I got back I was put in chair 8. I was in the center of the room looking at the back of their heads LOL. I could see their reflection through their mirrors though. Debbie was Zachs pirate painter. She had to put make-up on her hand to reassure him that the paint WILL come off. I had to bribe him with a gift so he would do this LOL. By the end of the transformation I felt so sorry for Debbie since Zach was nervous he talked her ear off. Mom had Anthony and complained about how in 59 years she never wore make-up and how she didnt want to do this but she was doing it anyway. I had Stephanie, she was great. We mostly talked about Zach and how cute he was. We talked about how Debbie had to show Zach that the make-up will come off and how nervous Zach was about it staying on forever. All the parents that were around me that didnt get it done were commenting how great I looked and how they wished they did it. After everyones Pirate transformation, the pirate oath we were given swords and taken into a secret room to have our photos taken. There was also a great surprise but I wont tell. You have to experience 1 cool thing for yourself. They only take cash as tips, I only had a $50.00 on me and I still had to buy Zachs bribe gift LOL. Tipping is optional so I could only afford to give them each a $10.00 tip, I hope that was enough because they were great. Zachs bribe gift whined up being a pirate gun so we didnt have to go far for it LOL

So sorry about Zach's blanket. One of our boys lost his comfort object on a trip once. I know it was in that hotel room, but alas, nothing left behind in a hotel room ever surfaces again....... It was really hard for us.......
I'll keep reading, hoping somehow it miraculously shows up!

So sorry about Zach's blanket. One of our boys lost his comfort object on a trip once. I know it was in that hotel room, but alas, nothing left behind in a hotel room ever surfaces again....... It was really hard for us.......
I'll keep reading, hoping somehow it miraculously shows up!

Surprisingly not true. On our trip this summer DH lost his swim trunks. He went swimming with one of the boys our first night on the road coming home. The second night on the road he didn't, but all of the boys went down to the pool. That must have been when it happened - when Sean took his trunks out of the plastic bag that we had put the wet suits in the night before he must have pulled DHs out too and they got shuffled away somewhere. We didnt realize they were missing for a couple weeks when he was getting ready to go away for an overnight bus trip and couldn't find them. I called the first hotel - no luck. Didn't even consider calling the second hotel because he didn't use them there. I ordered him another pair of trunks - but the didn't have the pockets he likes - so he asked if I ever called the 2nd hotel. I said I hadn't - he said to try just in case. By gosh - a month or so later they still had them - and they knew what room they had come out of. They sent them back to us. Now, I ask you, if they know what room they were found in, and they know we were in that room, why couldn't they call us and say - "hey, we found these after you checked out - are they yours??" But, regardless, he has them back and is a happy camper again
