A SouthWest Fare Release Question

Currently the SW site says the following about the release of fares:

We are currently accepting air reservations through August 9, 2013. On February 4, 2013, we will open our schedule for sale through September 27, 2013. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently.

My question is, on Feb 4 when the fares up to Sept 27 are released, will this message tell us when the fares beyond Sept 27 will be released? I want to jump on our dates out of PHL ASAP.

In my experience, that page on the website is kept up to date when they release fares. I can't say that it is immediate, but I have looked at it on the day that they released fares to see when the next round of fares was coming out, and it had the info I was looking for.

Generally they will update the next release date the same day or shortly thereafter. If you want to get an idea of when various dates have been opened for booking in the past, check the Historical and Upcoming SWA Release Dates thread.

That has been my experience as well. We seem to be cursed with having to wait for 2 releases as our trips usually have the going flight in one release and then we have to wait another month or two to book the return flight. Makes it frustrating as we can fly out of PHL or BWI so I usually have to guess which airport will be cheaper overall for the trip.

Don't jump too fast we're going aug 7 and after just a few weeks the prices moved a lot. I was patient and got $99 for our trip down from Phl. It was $156 yesterday. Thanks for the feb 4 info....we have to book our return flight and the dates aren't open til then
