Loving your reviews Really pleased to see your universal reviews too, I'm doing another solo trip this year but for a change I'm stopping at Portofino for a couple of nights so will be eating at some of the US resort restaurants, how did you find them from a solo perspective compared to the Disney restaurants?

As a solo diner it was a great experience. Sitting at the bar helps as you get to watch the action to pass the time, and most often than not, you get talking to whoever is sitting next to you. I never felt uncomfortable when eating at the resort restaurants. Have a great time on your solo trip!

It was my last half day in the US and I decided to have some time by the pool and some down time. After 3 1/2 weeks on the go I thought I was due some relaxation!


After checking out, I lazed by the pool for a couple of hours and munch on this platter...

Sun-Bathed Creamy Shrimp and Spinach Dip - Served with fresh fried tortilla chips

YUM! Remember ooey-gooey cheese and shrimp in a dip in ANY form is always a winner...perfect way to end an epic food marathon!

Heck it was going to beat plane food!

What now? Where to? Future Disney Plans?

Some of the places you dined at Universal I tried, too. Tchoup-chop and I loved Bula Grill. It was great to sit poolside and have the servers come around with your order. Just so relaxing!!

It was a work in progress being 18 months old, but I got there in the end. I really enjoyed Bula Bar and the pool...and it wasn't over crowded which was nice. Thanks for reading...

A small part of day has come to an end , but I am replacing typing food reviews to reading many more food reviews in prep for October... I should probably do some work in between!

We tried Bubba Gump for the first time last year (the one in Daytona Beach) and loved it! Thanks for including Universal in your report, it's always great to read reports on restaurants outside of the world

So glad you finished up these reviews. Was great to see some Universal food options as we have 4 days there in August. We have never tried Bubba Gumps as we aren't huge fans of seafood but it does look great so may have to give it a try.
