I noticed at the Disney Gallery calendar of events that Disney is having an event called This is Love - A Royal Knight to Remember on February 4, 2004 at the Magic Kingdom.

The information on the above web site indicates that it is a feast, ball (with dancing and costumes) and quest, plus a viewing of the fireworks. Villians are supposed to try to infiltrate the ball. There will be many characters and opportunities to purchase special merchandise.

It sounds pretty great, although the price is hefty ($125 10+, $95 3-9). If it is done right, I could see it being worth it (you also can come into the MK after 4 p.m. without paying admission). But if it is not up to Disney standards, there'll be a lot of angry persons.

Well, I wanted to post this so that people would know about it in case they wanted to sign up. Also, if I am reading the info properly, there will be a late night fireworks at the Magic Kingdom that night (not that you could stay in the parks to watch it without signing up, but there are plenty of other places to see Wishes from).

If anyone knows more about it, please post the info here.

Excellent!! I don't have the money for it, but I still think it's exciting that they have been adding more of these sepcial events lately (like the Sleeping Beauty tea), even if they are pricey.

And when you think about it, the prices aren't off the map, so to speak. Broadway show tickets in NYC are $100 per person (adult or child) for 2 -3 hours of live entertainment, no meal included. (Water is $4.00 a bottle at a Broadway show and candy bars are $3.50). A family of four could easily drop $600. for a Broadway show, parking, and a casual dinner (say Applebee's or TGIF) -- without souvenirs or programs, etc....I know, because we just did!

Wait a minute --- this Dinsey event is starting to look like a bargain -- maybe I better book my seats now!! LOL ;)

How exciting. I wish I could be there!!!

I disagree about the prices being reasonable, they are way out of line. I paid extra once for a hard ticket event, MVMCP and as far as I was concerned it was a Royal rip-off. The Parks were super crowded, all the shows were sold out, I basically paid extra to stand in more lines than I normally would. Oh I forgot about Candlelight Procession when I got in line an hour early and sat behind a pole. I'll think long and hard before I pay above and beyond the already exorbitant Disney ticket prices again. Sure I think my Disney vacations are worth it, but I also think there is a limit to how far they can bleed my wallet.

I must admit, I'm curious. I emailed the addy listed in the link. I'll post when I hear from them. I would definitely want to know EXACTLY what was included before spending so much money!

Wow- I wonder if I can talk my Husband into yet another Disney trip????(doubtful) As far as exorbitant prices go- I went to the Happy Haunts Ball last year at $100 a person- and it was fantastic- definitely worth every penny- a fantastic buffet, storytelling and headless horseman, no crowds or lines whatsoever (event was limited to 999 people)- plus pretty cool "parting gifts".
I've also done MVMCP and agree that the event is overrated (unless you want to see the Christmas parade and won't be there during Christmas week; or maybe you think fake snow is super cool (I just spent 3 winters in Vermont so could care less about "snow" on mainstreet)- but think that CP is awesome (and the few extras dollar we pay over the cost of a regular dinner in Epcot more than makes up for time waiting in line. I also think that MNSSHP is awesome (way cooler than MVMCP IMHO); and am going to my second "Party for the senses" this weekend (at about $100 pp) - because they are absolutely fabulous! Jill

Here is the only other information I could find about the event on the world wide web. It really could be great (I hope so as I signed up for it). But with these one-time events, you never really know.

I also wish I could attend this event. It sounds like so much fun and low crowds. Going in costume would make the evening perfect.
