A Sister & Brother Return! AKL Bound! 8/1 Update pg. 46! AND WE'RE OFF!!

So like I said in an earlier post, the surprise went really well! mom and dad were super surprised, and you can see they have tears in their eyes at the end of the video below. Needless to say, its all worth it, and they haven't stopped beeming all day! But before we get to the video, i'd like to go back in time to all the photos of the "setup" which i've had for quite some time!

Setting Up
The idea and concept were that we would have 2 pieces of treasure, each with a clue that led to the next, and eventually the treasure box with the t-shirts in them! So the first idea was this disney cruise line pin, I got for a few dollars on ebay:

The second idea required a little work, so I made a post on the dis boards asking a favor of someone who would be traveling to Disney soon. The request were two "happy anniversary" buttons (the kind you get for free from guest services) and of course I would pay any mail expenses! Lucky for me, glitterkittyy was willing to help! She had 2 extras from an earlier trip and mailed them to me the next week! gotta love the people on the dis! So now we had that all set:

The hardest thing to do believe it or not, was to find a cardboard treasure chest. David and I took a day a few weeks ago to check all over. We went to party city, ac moore (craft store), michaels (craft store) hallmark etc. until finally we just gave up and I decided I would order it online! I'm so glad I did! For $5 i found it at AnytimeCostumes.com! And it was perfect!! Here is David putting it together!

And of course, the t-shirts that went inside of them! 2 identical tees!

After those photos, David said I should post them on "that disney board"...oh silly David!

And now for the important part, the "scrolls!"

And on a side note, how awesome is it that we are only a month away!! Also, I saw Wall-E the other day and it is toooo cute! I am listening to the soundtrack right now, if you haven't seen it, you MUST!

I'm so going to have to burn that video and save it for posterity, like for instance when my kids are old enough to send ME on a Disney Cruise without them!

I watched the 'reveal' video again and got yet another tear, just like the first time I watched it.

You're going to be on your brother/sister trip before you know it, and it will be time for another reveal! It's going to be so fun!

I have to go turn my TV off now. I can't stand seeing all these BACK TO SCHOOL commercials! I still have a few weeks left, and I refuse to think about it before it actually gets here!!!

I'm glad you enjoyed the video I know all about that feeling of "back to school" except it wasn't too long ago when I was a student, dreading those september days--although I always enjoyed school supply shopping! It must be because it was just SHOPPING!

In 1 hour and 15 minutes, we will be doing the single digit dance! In honor of this, lets start the festivities early!! First i'd like to apologize for not updating as frequently as I would have liked! I've been very busy this week (I know, I know excuses!) But lets skip that and go on to the good stuff! I'm looking forward to Saturday which will mark ONE WEEK!! Friday night, I'm going to see Idina Menzel (She was in the original broadway cast of Rent & Wicked, and was also Nancy in enchanted!) in concert which I am very excited about! And than its smooth sailing to August 2nd (hopefully!) David and I are going to the Mets game when they play the marlins on Wed. (Dad's fathers day present) so that should help the time go by a bit quicker! Well in honor of our single digit dance, lets post some pictures and reminisce of mine and david's last trip! Here is what we have to look forward to in 9 days!

Favorite rides and David's laughter over "evasive manuver, we're not gonna make it!"

Dole whips and doing things that are new (david never had a dole whip before last trip!)

the dining plan! so i don't get stuck with the bill during this!

Woohoo! Almost single digits, and almost 1 week away!! May it go as quickly as this time has passed...

The best I can do today is youtube Dinosaur and make myself a fake No Way Jose. I guess I'll surround my computer with plastic dinosaurs and then go eat the ice cream in my Florida room! I'll let you know if that comes anywhere near the real thing.

I had quite an experience at the concert the other night!! I truly hope she tours again next year so I have the oppurtunity to see her again! Idina Menzel is truly just a talented wonder! lol! I love how she tours too, she goes to small venues, and its a very classy, 'night out' there's no screaming (except in between songs) and its just like seeing a show! I have some pictures, but I'll spare you the detailed recap. I've posted it on her official message board, so if you're interested, i'll point you in that direction, just click here The highlight of the night I caught on video, it was an encore performance of Defying Gravity from the musical Wicked (where she was part of the original broadway cast) and it was totally relaxed and full of audience participation!!

So on to other big news!! LESS THAN ONE WEEK AWAY!!! THIS SATURDAY!!!! (AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!) I seriously can't believe how time has flown by! I'm really grateful for this thread so I can look back on to it and laugh at 'how long ago that was' For the TR, i'm going to start a fresh thread, so I hope to see you all there!! But you know where we will be on saturday?? Checking into this fabulousness!

I've been to Universal a few times. I did like some of the rides, but it just doesn't give me the same feelings at all as Disney does. I'm sure I'll eventually go again with grandkids, though. They've added a lot since I've been there, too, so I'm sure it'll be like a whole new place.
