A sincere question about Russell Brand

I am not keen on his humour (and I am british) as for his person will someone please give him a comb he always looks like he hasn't brushed his hair.

That's what I mean when I say dirty. I don't mind dirty humor but he looks dirty and not just a little bit. LOL

Russel Brand...ehh I can take him or leave him...Steve Carell...you all really need to see the movie..."Dan in Real Life" that changed my view of him it was such a great movie! I was a hater, but now I am a Lover of Steve!:woohoo:

I love both Steve and Russell.

I don't know what it is about Russell, but he says something and I crack up laughing. I was just saying to DD today that I can't wait for the remake of Arthur. I think he will be hysterical.

I know he was real heavy into drugs but I believe he's been sober now for MANY years. He does look like he needs a good soaking.

Agree. I've always liked him. First there was Forgetting Sarah Marshall(which would have me laughing on the floor during his "concert" scene), then his comedy special, and all of his other appearances. Cannot wait for his remake of Arthur. I love and own the first film, but he's going to take it to all new heights.

I see the appeal in him, then again I like the bawdy type. And the British. I also have read countless interviews with him and he's extremely intelligent and comes off rather sensitive as well. He's also brutally honest about himself which is refreshing in the age of hollywood's "let's hide who I am" game.

I've only seen him in movies (Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Bedtime Stories) and he's funny, but I don't understand the physical appeal.

However, last night I was getting some CDs ready to sell, and found a Neil Diamond CD, Hot August Night. The cover art is Neil, with a look that is SO much what I think R Brand looks like, that I can't help but wonder if Brand has seen that same picture and is styling himself after the hot young 1970s Neil Diamond....

Loved Carell since "The Daily Show" and as far as Russell Brand, seriously quirky but whatever.....takes a lot for me NOT to like a comedian.

Then again I watch a lot of quirky stuff.

And to add to OP's question -- how did he get Katy Perry? :scared1: She must see "it" because I sure don't. ;) And as kooky as she can be, I think she's a very pretty girl. I honestly think it might be a British humor thing. I love Hugh Laurie, and I've seen very little of his earlier work, but what I have seen I just don't find all the humorous.

I don't know - I'm British and I don't get it at all! I agree that British humour is totally different; DH (American) and I totally differ on things we think are funny! But I don't think he's funny, I just think he's weird.

I also totally don't get the attraction - he looks like he could use a shower.

Oooh I think he's sexy. I am a sucker for "bad boys" and honestly I don't understand what he sees in Katy Perry. ;)

I saw one of his stand up specials and he is very clever and seems really intelligent. I enjoy that kind of comedy.

Many people in the UK are pleased that Mr Brand is successful in the US and hope his success there continues to keep him fully occupied.

Russel Brand would not make my top 10 list but I do think there's "something" there.

I'm afraid to know what that 'something' is!!! Ewwwww! He creeps me out completely!

I've seen pictures of him, haven't seen him perform.

Every picture I have seen of him, he either has his mouth wide open or a strange look on his face. Not attractive at all. I did see one picture of him running down a street in his underwear and knee high socks. That was amusing, but decidedly not sexy.

I also saw a picture of RB where he had his mouth shut, had a hat on, and looked somewhat normal. He does have nice eyes and a nice face (when it's not distorted).

He'd probably be handsome with a hair cut and toned down expressions. But then the expressions have to be part of his shtick. So that's probably not happening.

Long story short, I think I could "get it" but as it is I don't. :)

Yes, the first time I ever saw him was in, Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Very funny. he seems to be similar to that character, and gets that about himself, which makes him funnier. Kind of like he's winking about himself. ;)

For him, it's the Madonna/Ho complex. She looks like a sweet angel, but I'm sure she's got a real ho side in private. :rolleyes1 ;)

YESsssssssss I keep seeing pictures of him in his underpants. The comments on those pictures were mostly that he was sexy. The underpants pics threw me over the edge into Ickdom.

Ick. Ick. Icky ick ick.

(even his undies looked dirty. gag me. deeply.)

well he's hilarious...been following him for a few years now and he's really hot!

I've only seen him in movies (Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Bedtime Stories) and he's funny, but I don't understand the physical appeal.

That. He's kinda skeevy to look at, but I don't really have to look at him. LOL.

I've only seen him in movies, but he does that REALLY well. Alduos Snow (his character in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him to the Greek) is a great character. He's a really good performer.

OTOH.... I think Katy Perry is creepy.

Now, Steve Carrell. Adore him. And he is supposed to be one of the nicest guys in Hollywood.

oh i love russell brand!!

like someone else said, comedy is definitely subjective, most of my friends love comedians like russell peters & jeff dunham, whereas i do not find either of them remotely funny.
i like comedians like russell brand & ricky gervais.
they are both obviously very very smart and cultured. i watched russell's live in new york DVD, and you can tell is really is very smart.
i recently read his book as well, and it was really interesting and funny.

i find him hilarious, and therefore attractive. i love him & katy perry as a couple, i think they fit really well together. :thumbsup2

just like finding people good looking is subjective, so is finding someone funny. i don't "get" robert pattinson or brad pitt

Well there you go. I LOVE Jeff Dunham. And I also LOVE Craig Ferguson. I have to admit, I tend toward teenaged boy humor -- can't wait for the new episodes of Beavis & Butthead. :thumbsup2
