A Simple Guide to Making an Autograph Book

My book is on the way. Paid for fast shipping to be sure. It was shipped from Hong Kong yesterday and FedEx says I'll have it tomorrow!!!!

For those that order books in the future from Arts Cow. I inquired about the long processing time as it said a week on the website, but after 3 weeks, mine still said processing, and the customer service email said that for 8x8 books, it is 2-3 weeks processing....

Thank you so much!!!!
I am so stinkin excited, it's been hard planning this thing alone, the kids have no clue, and well dh knows we're going but nothing about what we're doing!

I hope you all have a great time! Here are your covers :goodvibes:

OH!! Thank you!!!! Those are perfect!!!

I have everything uploaded and are sending them out to print and pick up today!

My book arrived and it's awesome! :cool1:

I was really worried about it being heavy (80 pages), but it turned out great! It's not nearly as heavy as I anticipated! I can't wait to give it to my daughter in 13 days when I surprise her with this trip!

If I was redoing it, I think I'd consider the 10x10 instead of the 8x8.

Could you make a cover for me like the one that says David Jr's but use the name Ryan? Thanks, Tami

I'm so glad it arrived in time! I know what you mean - 8x8 looks kind of small once you are holding it in your hand. :rotfl2: It's a much easier size to carry around the Parks, though! :goodvibes

Yea. It will be a lot easier than a 10x10 to carry around. What really shocked me was how thin 80 pages are. I was so worried about that making it heavy and it's really not that many at all.

I am so new at this, and feeling a little overwhelmed. This is our 4th visit to DW and the kids are finally taking an interest in the autographs. So... I've signed up to artscow...it seems confusing, so I will have to play around with it some.
I don't have a color printer, so printing card stock dosen't seem to be an option.

I have saved a lot of character cards to my computer already, I'd love to add some pictures of past trips as well.

What size book? About how many pages do I need? I can't see us going crazy with signatures, we aren't ones to wait in line (so I feel 'iffy' about the books at all).

The kids view this as collecting the autographs, so I want to put as many characters in the book to be used future trips as well.

Does anyone know if Remi from Les Chefs De France signs somehow?

I just got an email that my Artscow order has been shipped!

So it says that it's 7-10 days for airmail, that makes me hopeful that I could get it in time for our trip? So crazy that it has shipped already?!!!

I have the photos already printed out though for a photo book I was going to put together this weekend, I am going to make it still as a back up and if I don't need it pass it along to friends that are going this summer.

Thanks for helping me figure out how to make these! Could I please have covers with the names
Joel
Julianne
thanks!

Can someone help me out I printed out a bunch of autograph cards on 5x8 cards but I can't find anything to hold them in I was looking for a photo album to hold all of them but no dice and I really don't want to bind them any suggestions? Thanks

Michaels has these simple cute photo albums, they are foam. They were in the same aisle at my store with all the foam craft supplies and kits. They were only 2.99 at my store

They also had simple chip board journals for 1.99 that you can simply use adhesive and attach them to each page.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind next time I'm near Michaels do you know of anything online or like staples maybe I'm sorry it's just the nearest michaels to me is a half hour away and I don't have a car so it's kind of hard to

Hello, and :welcome:! I would suggest that you read carefully through posts #1 and #2. That will help you a lot. To answer your questions:
1) The most popluar sizes for books are 8x8 and 5x7. 5x7 books are generally one character per page, whereas 8x8 can have two or three characters per page depending on the design.
2) If you are using Artscow, you will need to completely design your page (ie., if you want to add in your own photos) and then upload it once it is the way you want to print it. Any Photo editing software will work for this - I use Photoshop Elements.
3) If you don't have a color printer, you can always have the images printed as photographs (matte or glossy), and then either have them bound or slip them into a photo album.
4) Make sure you are saving the images only after expanding them to 100%.
5) Post #2 is an updated list of the characters that are currently appearing in the parks. I keep track using various sources. ;) You may also encounter a couple of characters that are considered to be rare, so I always suggest that you put in a few generic cards for those. In a typical one week vacation, it is not unusual to encounter 60+ signing characters. If your kids are starting to get interesting in collecting autographs, they will have to stand in a few lines.
6) Remy from Chefs de France does not sign. He is animatronic.

I hope this helps! Come back and ask if you have any more questions or would like me to personalize a cover for you! :goodvibes

You can usually buy blank photo albums at any local store like Walmart or Target. Amazon sometimes has some really sweet deals on them, too. If it looks too plain to you, "Disney-fy" it with stickers, ribbons, etc. :goodvibes
