A Simple Guide to Making an Autograph Book

Thank you. I thought that I had read that somewhere, but I couldn't find it.

glossy does work though. I'm sure Iordered matte finish, but when I picked them up they were glossy. I didn't want to reprint 80 pics and didn't want to ask Costco to fix the mistake for fear that they'd take back the order due to the licensed characters. So I went with what I had and the sharpie was fine,

We're going back! :cool1: I made two books last year for my kids from this thread, and they were a huge hit with both my kids and the characters. I even had a couple of people waiting in lines ask me where I bought them! Well, this year my kids decided they only want one book to share. With that in mind, would it be possible to get a cover made with something like "The Gill Family Autographs" or "The Gill Family Vacation" on the it? Maybe in blue? Whichever you think works the best would be fine - you're the expert! Also, could I maybe get a back cover made, possibly with Phineas & Ferb characters that says Walt Disney World 2010 if it's not too much trouble?

Also a question - last year I printed my own cards on cardstock. This year I was thinking about having a photo book made (I keep seeing the deals about snapfish and artscow posted). I thought I read that photo cards should be printed in matte finish, but now I can't find that anywhere. Is this true? Thank you so much for your help and advice!

I'm sorry this took so long, but I was knee deep in a Star Wars Party for my DS7. :darth::yoda::chewy: A sharpie marker will write on photo cards in matte finish or glossy finish, so either will work just fine. Here are your covers :goodvibes:

I found a cover for my son Zachary but would love one for my daughter Skyler. Thank you so much. I have no idea where to start but my guess is that the cover would be a good place!

There are step by step instructions in post #1. If you have any questions about the process, I'll be happy to help you. Here is your cover :goodvibes:

Music Mouse,

If possible, can I get an autograph cover with Black Writing.

Jalen's Autographs

Do you also have a blank one so I can use for the back cover?

NEVERMIND. I figured out how to use word to add the same and convert it pack to a JPEG...

Since Snapfish refused to make my prints, I will try artscow because I get free prints and hopefully they will process them...I have about 6 weeks before I leave

If that is the case, send them today. Artscow is in Hong Kong and a lot of their orders are being delayed right now because of all of the folks that are on vacation for the Chinese New Year. :goodvibes

Oh my gosh they're wonderful! Thank you so much! :flower3:

Music Mouse,

I really like your book you have at artcow. After reading some early post I see I can not copy your book. Which is totally fine. I have decided to do make mine one this first time. So hard to decided who all to put in the books. I will request covers later. Thanks

Welcome aboard! In Post #1 are the step by step instructions, and in Post #2 I have a list of characters that I keep updated. They will change slightly in the spring, but these are the characters that you are most likely to see. I always recommend that you include at least 6 blank cards for the rare characters that appear at random. Have fun making your book, and post at the end of this thread if you have any questions during the process! :goodvibes

wow, just, wow! I have had SO much fun checking out all your dissigns. My 4 year old and I have spent 2 hours discussing which characters she hopes to see and now I will be off to target/walmart to print about 50 photos for the autograph book. My printer stinks so I figured they would come out nicer that way.
Anyway............thanks for all your work.
Do you think you could make 3 autograph covers for me?

Amelia's Autographs (no year)
Kaleigh's
Olivia's

THANKS AGAIN! I am addicted to these Disign threads. Now I just wish I knew how to do any of this stuff myself ! :)

WOW.................I have just read through the last few posts.
Is there a problem with having Walmart/Target/Shutterfly/Walgreens print photo 4x6 versions of the autograph cards? My home printer is broken/crappy so there is no way I can print these at home on card stock.
Does anyone have any scoop on this?
I don't even know what Artscow is but we are leaving for our trip in 4 weeks so if I have to send something to Hong Kong to get printed...yikes!

For those of you that have made your books using a Shutterfly Book, what size books did you get? Where you happy with that size.
I think that will be much easier than me sending all the autograph pages out to be printed as photos at Walgreens then gluing 40 pictures to card stock THEN having to take it to Staples to be bound.
Seems like the Shutterfly book deal is the way to go, no?

Normally, no, there is not a problem with these places. Every once in a while someone reports that they couldn't get their prints done, but that is very rare. :goodvibes

I'm working on our autograph album but have a question based on some of the cards I'm finding....
can you meet Darby, Bolt, Agent Oso, or Phineas and Ferb?

thanks!!!

Ok- this feels like a dumb question- but maybe not?

I am trying to get things printed before we leave (in 8 days, nothing like procrastinating, eh) and was wondering is there's a way to save an entire Photobucket album at once or if you have to save cards (like from Chaoscent, etc) one at a time only?

Edit: NM. I found it. D'oh.

Darby is rare, but does appear randomly at DHS in the Animation Courtyard. Bolt is not currently appearing. Agent Oso is now part of the character meal at Hollywood and Vine, and Phineas and Ferb are RUMORED to be coming later this spring (location TBA). :goodvibes
