A secret 'bout that $9 fee some limo companies add.

Personally, I think they need to re-do the MK Toll Plaza, and make a dedicated lane to World Drive North, and have the Toll Plaza feed soley into the parking lot. This would cut down on traffic, and eliminate the parking fee for Towncar companies. (Which is ridiculous, IMHO)

There used to be such a lane, and the roads were configured just a bit differently. This designated lane was there when I visited in January of 1992, but had changed to the present setup on my next visit in December of 1994.

ok, so this may be a really dumb question, but... if parking is free for WDW guests and the limo/towncar is only dropping guests off why are they (or the customer) charged $9 for each trip the limo/towncar makes to MK resorts?? They are only dropping guests off or picking them up, so they are there what, maybe 15-20 minutes??

I'm confused on the charge?? how many towncars drop/pick up guest off each day? and they have to pay $9 every time they go through the gate? so it's really $18?? $9 drop off & and another $9 when they come to pick up??

The fee is for the pickup at the resort, when the guest is not with the towncar. The dropoff is free.

My guess is the fee is to discourage use of limo services other than their official limo company, Mears. The last time I used a towncar (Tiffany) about 4 years ago, I did have to give our reservation confirmation to the driver to show the person at the toll booth when going to GF.

On the subject of dedicated lanes, they should have one for resort guests to pass through at the parking gates. You have to sit behind a bunch of cars paying the parking fee just to get waived through.
