Unfortunately Ricky's food really looked bad when we got back from Crew's Cup and that changed our plans for our last day, July 7th.

Thank goodness you guys were on your last day!

Therefore we were in no rush and decided to make a pit stop at another resort on our way back to the Contemporary.

Well, I was going to say the Poly for some nachos... But I guess I was a little ahead of myself.

I am not even sure what I am looking at...

It was huge and soft and moved around when you touched it like a bubble or sack of water so not good.

I know you'll all be surprised to hear that Chris agreed to stay behind with him lol.

The Plaza as always was a win and Ricky and I were able to appease our milkshake cravings.

Strange how that's the only place you could find a milkshake but glad you got a good meal out of it!

So we stood and watched and some who were not me may have cried. RIP Illuminations:

We saw one of my favorite animals who strangely had been missing the few months previously, Mr. (or Mrs.) Okapi!

I was very glad to see the Okapi on the safari! We asked about them maybe last Fall and they said they were all at AKL while they're habitat was being refurbed.

I sent it to one of my girlfriends and she said it looks like they started carving a bear and then decided to go with a Disney theme lol!

That's creepy lol and I agree with her description!

We did have a good time! Yup other than the foot........but funny enough not long ago we were talking about the trip and Ricky referred to it as "one of our best because there was no fighting" so there's that

Yes, I will now be visiting WDW for a super quick holiday trip in early December!!!! I am in Universal for work from Dec. 1-4 so Steve decided to fly in that day and we tacked on 2 nights in Disney! This is partly a re-do for my Disney work trip last month - I'll explain why I need this when I do that TR soon - and partly because Steve really wants to see the holiday stuff again this year since we're kind of used to seeing it all now. Therefore when I check out of Sapphire Falls on the 4th I'll be going to our resort to meet Steve for 2 whirlwind days of good Disney food and good Disney fun!!! So where are we staying this time?

There is so much going on that week down there - Rise of the Resistance opens, Christmas parties almost every night, another early MK closing for the CM party. I think it might be Pop Warner too?? So when we booked like 10 days ago there weren't many options. Not too upset with where we'll be though since it's partially new to us:







Not sure that will be our view but we do have a tower water view room booked at Gran Destino! We've been to CSR quite often; we like the resort; I'm not liking that the worst bus stop is the one most convenient to the tower but we Lyft so much anyway it won't really matter. Plus then I can knock this off my list of where I need to stay!

I am having some trouble deciding what we'll do/not do and when but the 4th is pretty set. After I meet Steve at Gran Destino - his plane lands at 10:16- we're going to lunch in DS at a new to us place:



Thanks Google! I know there isn't entertainment during the day and that's ok; we wanted someplace new and this fits the bill! Afterwards I have a couple FP's at HS including Tower of Terror. I'm looking forward to seeing all the holiday decor as last year it was my favorite decorated park:



And then we'll go to Epcot for some Festival of the Holidays!!! There are some food booths we want to try and I want to try to see the Storyteller in Norway as they are my favorite.
The 5th is still a little up in the air. I know I want to go back to DS to get an ornament for our grandson:



Last year I got all of us matching ornaments- us, all 4 boys, their ladies and our granddaughter but we didn't know yet if Carter was a boy or girl. And in the 7 times I've been do the World this year do you think I remembered to get him one????

We also have set plans for the evening of the 5th; something we haven't done since 2012:



Yeah yeah, we spent the $$. If I'm going to be honest it was Steve who came to me after we booked and told me there was a party while we were there and did I want to do it?? Now my experiences at MNSSHP the last 2 years is that it was way too crowded and I don't doubt I'll feel the same about this, but it's still something we haven't done recently and gives us a bit of "extra" time in the MK. I do love that parade and from what I saw from my room at WL last month when they tested the new fireworks early one morning, they are going to be really really nice. So DS at some point and then the party; I do have FP's at MK for 3-6 but we also plan to go to MK the next day which is our last, so now I'm thinking maybe we don't get up too early, do another park a bit, then do DS, eat there, or maybe reverse that and eat in a park, and hit the party closer to like 5:30-6 instead of 3-3:30?? Hmm what to do, what to do.....................

And then there's our last day Until January that is! So again I have FP's at MK and lunch booked at LTT, Our flight WAS leaving at 5:30 so we'd have a few hours in the park, eat, and have to be back at the resort by like 2 but yesterday we changed our flight and now we don't leave until 9pm. So we basically have until around 5:30! And therein lies my problem; just do MK all day? Leave after LTT for say, Epcot again? Do AK with DS on the 5th? Or do I want to even attempt SWGE at all????? I do NOT like Smuggler's Run and am not dying to do Rise of the Resistance but it's like, hey if I'm there........

So now I'm looking forward to my Universal work trip WAY more than I was before! I'll post a bit about that when it's a little closer. Oh! Have I mentioned that one of my really good DIS friends will be with me for that Uni work trip? Kelly @buzzrelly has recently started working with me and is coming down for this FAM! That's a huge reason to be looking forward to it!!

But I'm even more excited that you decided to do MVMCP! Especially since that seems to be the only overlap in our plans...all three days of them Unless, of course, you decide to go to EPCOT on 12/6 since I think that's where we'll be.

Oh, and our plane also leaves at 9pm so if you decide to take DME, we'll probably be on the same bus

Little side rant but getting rid of these guys really pissed me off. They always had a crowd and upped the atmosphere and experience in Africa so much! I was sitting on the side of the stage last week on my work trip and it was so barren and desolate; they have speakers playing African music Nothing wrong with African music but it should be LIVE!!

Back to breakfast. We had run out to get there early and were now pretty hungry so we stopped at Kusafiri right outside the safari. Ricky tried a sausage egg and cheese biscuit which none of us had had there before and said it was pretty good! Chris had my staple Disney cheese danish while I tried something new;

And THEN because the line wasn't long we did it AGAIN

We were ready to say good-bye to AK for the time being (not knowing at the time we'd be back the following month!) and with Ricky's foot we really didn't know what the night would have in store for us. Therefore we were in no rush and decided to make a pit stop at another resort on our way back to the Contemporary.

I knew exactly where you were as Bill and I were on the boat back to WL from our tea and saw you guys walking off the other boat and down the dock.

Hope you all had a great weekend! We spent most of Saturday upstate (NY, because even though we aren't in NY CITY we are NOT upstate lol!) visiting another college with Ricky and now it's tied with another SUNY school as his 1st choice. On the way back we stopped at a diner that was still kinda way out there; behind it was a little ice cream place with this sorta freaky thing outside:

Wow, another Disney trip?! That's awesome!

You have a great lineup even for such a short trip. You've definitely converted Steve into a big Disney fan if he's the one that's requesting MVMCP! Your meal choices are great, too - I've only read great things about the Edison and LTT lunch is one of my favorite Disney meals. Since flight changes are usually negative, I'm thrilled that yours is positive and it gives you more Disney time!

You'll have a great time with your Disney days as well as your training at Universal - it will be fun to be there with @buzzrelly !

Ooooh, exciting!!!! Christmas is my most favorite time to be at WDW, and even though our trip is just 36 days away, I'm still jealous that you'll be there before me! (also, I have NOT forgotten that I still need to pay the balance on that trip LOL--will take care of that next week!)

So fun for you and Kelly to do the Universal trip together and hopefully see each other for MVMCP I'm jealous of that, too! LOL

We plan to go there on Wednesday, too. Neil Patrick Harris is the narrator at the Candlelight Processional and I'm curious to see why he is so popular at this event.

I adore the Christmas party fireworks and watched them from the GF when we were there in 2017. They are supposed to have new ones this year. We considered going to this party but I know DH wouldn't be able to stay awake that late.

Yay to another trip and it is so nice to enjoy the Christmas decorations around the parks and resorts.

Jealous you get to have more of the delicious macarons on your work trip. Best macarons I have ever had, yum! How fun Kelly is now working at the same TA and will be down there at the same time.

Any time of the day those pulled pork nachos look so delicious even at 6am! I am definitely working these into my January trip

So glad Ricky‘s foot healed up without to much hassle, just a real bummer he had to lay low the last couple days. Chris didn’t mind
