A Rumblee in my Tumblee Pre-Trip Report

Ok so why of ALL times is this happening!!! I was really quite calm about this flu. I thought it's in Mexico and people who have gotten it in the US have had mild cases. And then today i walk into my daycare and they tell me a baby has died of it. Here in the US. :scared:
Should we even be going to Disney World!!!?? I mean I was worried about the germs and everything before this even started. Now I am starting to do what they say not to do.... PANIC!

I had to leave Owen and Myles at school today and Owen was clinging to me and crying (which he never does) I was in tears by the time I got to my car. UGH, it is so hard sometimes.

The ironic thing is that after I drop them off, I take a T into Boston. I mean I probably have just as many chances of catching something like this during my normal commute as I do in Disney. I will practice CRAZY handwashing with me and the kids (wayne you need to too;)) I am sure we will be ok, it just is ONE more thing to make me worry about.

It is really tragic that any has died from this but we don't know all the facts in the case of this baby. I just read chicagoshannon's post that this baby was from Mexico so you don't know what his health was before getting sick or how quickly he got medical attention.

I read about a virus going around WDW when I was there in January (I think it peaked in December). I did wipe down the phone and remote in the room and then I made sure we didn't eat anything without washing our hands. I got a spray hand sanatizer at CVS-it looks like a pen. I found that a bit easier to deal with in the parks than the gel. The "pen" fit in my bag with other pens. I also just bought a HUGE box of individually wraps hand wipes at BJ's. It was $10 but had an instant $5 rebate.

Thank you for all the suggestions and the comments. I like most of you I am sure, just worry about my children and I want to do whatever I can to keep them safe. I tend too worry too much and Wayne doesn't worry- so we balance each other out. :goodvibes

Hey! I worry. I worry about stuff.

But, also, did you know that Animal Kingdom has its own beer? So, huh? Swine flu? Wha?

Flying back from Disney yesterday all I thought of was that flu. Every time someone sneezed or coughed :scared1: I found my self holding my breath for a few minutes :confused3 my DH was laughing at me . While we were at Disney I told everyone don't touch the doorknobs use your shirt, if someone coughs or sneezes walk away. I found it hard to get it out of my mind.

Thats how DW & I are too. She is the worry wart and I'm the 'whatever' guy. I think it has to do with the fact that she is a nurse and she has to be prepared for the worst.:goodvibes

I'm sure everything will be fine on your trip. Keep in mind that the media hasn't had a big story for a while so they are really running with this one. On our local news last night they spent the first 13 minutes talking about the swine flu.... They could of told the story in 2 minutes. It was the same nonsense over and over.:sad2:

 mmm... beer!

THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!!!:drinking1 :drinking:

It is when the first letter of every line spells something. I think he could have chosen something better for the "R" line.:rotfl2: I have to say when I read it I got very excited for our trip.:cool1:

Epcot was great with all the flowers it was so pretty to see. The value resorts and some of the moderate resorts were sold out due to cheerleading, dancing and other events. These kids came from all over the world to compete at Disney. Our resort SSR was only half full which was good because when you left the parks the other resort bus lines were out the door. If we missed our bus we could take the DDT bus and take a boat or walk back to our resort which was nice. It was not bad all the parks did have long lines for the main rides but over all not too bad. No I didn't do a trip report because this was a surprise from my DH for my birthday.
