For those that may be wondering....or who haven't flown with them before, here is our review as first timers on AirTran flying out of Buffalo:

1. Very easy check in at Buffalo airport... In fact we were one of only two families in line! The staff were friendly, and check in took little more then 5 minutes. Sure beats Toronto. Last year I was yelled at while I was trying to figure out the self serve kiosks by another passenger and when I asked for help from an Air Canada rep, she told me she was too busy to help me.:(

2. We had Zone 6 boarding, which meant that a lot of zones before us including business class got to board first. This was no problem for us. Again, very little wait even with all those before us. Besides, I prefer not to sit on the plane a long time waiting for it to move .

3. Staff onboard the aircraft were no nonsense but warm if that makes sense.:confused3 They were efficient, and quick to get you what you wanted. They made the flight feel homey...like a strict mom who really cares.:rotfl:

4. Luggage pick up at both MCO and BUF was very quick and easy. They must have worked their behinds off to get the bags off that quick.:thumbsup2

Overall we were super pleased with AirTran. I know they may be changing now that they have merged with Southwest but we will definitely fly with them again.

Hope this helps out someone who may be unsure of trying them out.:goodvibes

Airtran was my airline of choice but since the merger they pulled out of abe. Next Saturday we will be flying on united. I flew continental back in 09 and was not very happy with them so i am hoping with the continental/united merger it has improved. Im just very sad that there is no longer a direct flight to mco from abe.

We took AirTran for our recent August trip and everything was pretty much flawless. Very good experience.

I had a pretty identical experience flying them 2 weeks ago, also out of Buffalo!

I love Air Tran and have never had a problem with them. I was sooooo sad when they pulled out of Dallas last Nov. They were always my airline of choice.

Happy to hear all the favourable Airtran reviews. We are flying them for the first time this December (one way only, to MCO), after our beloved Jetblue was just too freaking expensive for that leg of our travels.

We love the TV's on Jetblue. I know we will miss having that wonderful onboard entertainment on our Airtran flights.

I am also glad to hear the great reviews of the Buffalo airport. Normally we fly from Syracuse (we have also flown from Toronto, but since flying from the small NY airports, have vowed never to flly from Pearson again!!) but Syracuse flight prices were stupidly high. Buffalo is a longer (but still do-able) drive for us, so we opted to fly from there instead. Though its almost an annual summer getaway for our family, we have never seen Niagara Falls in the winter (and always wanted to) so we might go up Friday night and spend Saturday in NF, before heading to our park and fly for Saturday night (flight leaves at 7:55 am Sunday). Decisions, decision!

At any rate, thanks for the great reassurance that our flight there will still be a good experience. I know my boys will also appreciate all of your posts!
