A request.....regarding the Haunted Mansion pre-show!

I think it's not so much that people who do this are 'having fun', it's that they need attention. Their behavior is just sad, annoying, and totally self-centered (Hey, look at me! I memorized the narration! I'm screaming my head off so please notice me! Don't listen to that other stuff, just listen to me!)

IMO, people are just having fun, and they can if they want. Yeah, it may be a little annoying, but you don't know why they're doing it. I'm sure they are doing it because it is fun to them, or their family.

As a matter of fact, when we were towards the end of the ride where the ghost is in with you, I was yelling to my nephew in the car in front of us that the ghost got him, and he was saying how it got me. Now, not screaming at the top of my lungs, but I'm sure others heard me. Honestly, as self centered as it sounds, if they didn't like that I was messing with my nephew oh well. We were having fun with it.

On this trip I also had the most fun I ever had on Tower or Terror. There were three probably late teen early 20s guys in the front row. The one yelled that this was his friends first time, and he was a little scared. Quite a few people starting yelling and screaming, and as far as I could tell the all of us on the ride were having a blast. Everyone laughing and carrying on together. The one that was "scared" would shriek here and there. Now I don't know if the guy actually was scared (he may have been a little, but they just went with it) or if they were just being loud at first, but in the end it was an absolutely hilarious fun filled ride.

I'm sure most here would've hated that ride, but my mom and I thought it was great. Those young adults may have been disrupting to some, but it seemed like our car full loved they started it and it just went from there.

I understand. This goes hand in hand with people that recite along with movies.

There will always be two types of people: People either recite along with it, or people get annoyed with those that recite with it.

That being said, don't ever sit near me during Fantasmic.

May I kindly ask that people REFRAIN from reciting the narration in the Haunted Mansion pre-show?? Pretty please? On my last trip, I enjoyed this classic Disney attraction 3 times. EVERY TIME, adults in the pre-show room recited the narration - thus detracting from other guest experiences! Look, I've been going to Disney since the late 1970's, so I also know the narration by heart. But I'd NEVER dream of spoiling it for other guests! I'm not even talking about children. I only saw adults ruining the experience for others. I'm sure that these guests thought that they were 'showing off' by reciting the lines, but folks.............it's just plain rude! Please just keep your thoughts to yourself and refrain from being 'foolish mortals'! ;)

What's next? Am I to refrain from paging "mr Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow"?? Should I not sing "there's a great big beautiful tomorrow?"

If said so loudly that other guests can't hear the original message, than yes. :D

People are welcome to say and do what they want!! It's no big deal to hear people cracking jokes, reciting lines, etc... I just don't want it to be so loud that guests can't hear the original narration. No biggie. I did HM 3 times recently, and didn't hear the Ghost Host at all in the Stretch room. :(

Your party is alone on the PeopleMover & you're encouraged to sing at CoP. I don't see how anyone could have an issue with either of those.

I can live with people speaking along/joking around (though on some rides it's more annoying than others), but the ear-piercing shrieking has got to go.

Reading this thread reminds me of something in the TOT pre-show our last time there. When Rod Serling says the elevator leads you to the Twilight Zone, a young girl blurted out the gift shop in its place and the entire room burst out in laughter. Sure it wasnt fiting with the theme, but it was 100% true.

The reciting does bother me just a tad but the screaming is just rude. Someone screamed right in my daughters ears and she started hysterical crying and had to leave the ride.

That is just heartbreaking!! Haunted Mansion is such a nostalgic ride for me, and I'm so excited to bring my children to WDW and experience it. But they would also have a very hard time handling someone doing something like that, especially if the stranger did it intentionally. It's just mean.

I'm sorry your daughter had to experience that. Did you and her end up returning to the ride later in the day?

It was a February..stretching room...cheerleaders...

at least they did not get under the tightrope walker...

Ironically, we went to see the Frozen "sing-along" edition when it was in theaters, and NO ONE sang :)

Don't worry, in addition to going to the movie Mamma Mia like 6 times, I also made a trip to the Sing-Along version of that and nobody sang to it either :(

So is it ok or not ok to ask "Howabout some backstage passes?" between Aerosmith's "manager" asking "Well what do expect me to do? Send them all with you?" and Steven Tyler responding "Wait a minute ... I love that idea..." on RNRC?
I prefer making up my own lines. Such as...

"How about some muffins?"
"How about a NEW CAR??"
"How about a date with Liv??"

It's the same with TOT. ALWAYS someone or else a group that talks through the whole entire narrative...
Last time I went on it, the cast member was reciting the pre-show in the library and rolling his eyes as he was doing it. I would have thought that they were trained NOT to do that.

Last year I was on Epcot's Living with the Land. Two men were seated in the bench right in front of me. We were the only ones in the boat. When we got to the farmhouse, they took one look at that rooster & started screaming/crowing at the top of their lungs. In unison. One crow might have been funny. 5 plus mins of non-stop screaming crowing was just nasty. They didn't stop until a CM got on the loudspeaker and told them to stop. Its such a peaceful, nice little ride in Epcot. Just mind boggling behaviour. Maybe a little (or a lot) of liquid courage went into it. Bizarre & just freaky when you are riding alone in a boat with that.

There are some strange (and not in a good way) people in this world. Why would they do that? No explanation would suffice.
