What do you mean housekeeping stole your bathing suit????
After a quick lunch in the food court we all head back to our room to change for a swim. As we are all taking turns dressing the Teen announces that her bathing suit is missing. I know it has to be around somewhere so we begin searching. Its not hanging in the bathroom or closet. Its not in any of the suitcases. Its not in the laundry bag. We found the top half, only the bottom half is missing.
Im pretty sure that it must have been picked up with the towels. It was a white bathing suit & probably easily mistaken as one of the towels when picked up. We put a quick call into housekeeping but they said they couldnt help us & wed have to call lost & found. We tried to call but had to leave a message.
Let me tell you. The Teen is just devastated. She throws herself across the bed & begins to cry. Shes just positive that housekeeping has purposely stolen her bathing suit. Its the only bathing suit she wants, the only one she likes, life is obviously over.
The boys are still dressed in their swimming trunks & excited to hit the water. They are not concerned about her missing suit; they just want to go. The teen is still deeply devastated & feels that no one should go if she cant go. Let me add that everyone else brought an extra bathing suit, but the teen deeply loved this one & no other suit would do for her.
I had to make a choice. The may never find the bathing suit & we cant spend the rest of our trip having this same to swim to not to swim discussion. I send Magical Dad off for a relaxing swim with the boys. I will sacrifice my afternoon by taking the Teen to Downtown Disney for a new suit. Ladies, we all know shopping is such hard work. Sacrifices must be made.
The Teen & I hop on the next boat to DTD. I have been holding off on all my major purchases for a trip to DTD! I need 2 new photo albums, new pins, many some artwork, stocking stuffers for next Christmas. Oh yeah, gotta remember the bathing suit too!
The trip to DTD is definitely relaxing. I really enjoyed it. I especially loved seeing the Tree House Villas. I was shocked to see that patio furniture still sits on the decks. Some had their curtains opened & I noticed they were still furnished. Hmmmmmm, almost looks like someone could just move in. Hmmmmmm, but if someone did, no one would notice for a bit. If I ever have to run away from something I think I will go to live in the Tree House Villas. Now if I go missing, dont you all tell a soul where I am, OK?
Arriving in DTD we head straight for the Sands store. Well its called something Sands anyways. The Teen begins looking for a new suit. As I glance around I notice that most of them consist of only a few inches of material. Some even less. No way my little girl is dressing like that. I guess I could buy it 7 make her wear a T-shirt over it. I take a closer look at one & notice it was 60.00. Hmmmm, no way am I spending that much for her bathing suit! ..the next 15 minutes are spent trying to explain to the Teen that there is no way she is wearing any of those bathing suits. If you have ever had a teen, known a teen, been a teen or seen a teen that you can just imagine how that went.
So, I leave her there to continue to search for a more acceptable suit & I head over to the mother of all Disney stores, The World of Disney. Entering the doors, my heart skips a beat. I take a second & remind myself that I am not a millionaire & cannot afford to buy every item in the store. Such a shame because I didnt see any item that I didnt want. I make a few purchases & head back to that Sand store.
The Teen excitedly meets me with a shirt that she must have. It cute. Sure Hon, you have your own money, if you want the shirt buy it. What do you mean its a dress, of course its not a dress, its a shirt. Finally I make her try it on. Its an awfully short dress, but it will be fine to wear to the pool over her bathing suit. Oh yeah, she doesnt even have a bathing suit. She purchases the dress anyways & we head back to POR.
When we get back I decided to check the gift shop. Sure enough there is an adorable blue one piece suit with a little Mickey Mouse in one corner. Its only 40.00 so I grab it & take it to the register. Waiting in line a notice the grouchy, grumpy look on the Teens face. She hates the suit & will only wear it while on vacation. Once we are home she will never wear it again. No one wears a one piece anymore! Ugh!
Great! Now Im going to have to go on a massive diet just so that this bathing suit will someday fit me because it is way too cute to go to waste!
We head back to the room & gather the guys so that we can return to Epcot for Illuminations. Gosh, these afternoon breaks wear me out. At least the boys got relax at the pool.
Up next, Hurry Future World closes in an hour!
